For me it was when I was 21. It was a week before my first divorce was final and I was out CD with my about to be ex wife.

She and I went clubbing and at the bar they were trying to guess who the natal girl was since we looked like a lesbian couple.

Back in my late teens I was hiking wearing one of my Mom's one piece swim suits. I would usually hike areas that I felt were remote and harder to get to, however an "older" woman encountered me as I rounded a rocky area. She was already there eating, I could feel her eyes watching me as I passed by, no words were exchanged.

I had just gone suit shopping with a bunch of other kings and we just stepped out of Le Chateau, dressed to the nines in new suits, fedoras and going full out in man mode.

A car drove past and a couple of college boys hollered out "Fags" and "penis-suckers" out the window.

Most of us just shrugged it off and laughed as it meant we were all passing but one king took serious offense to it and hollered back:

"If you're going to insult us, loving pick the right insult!"

Backpacking in the Caney Creek Area, Arkansas, we had a new guy with the four of us who usually went together, had been for yeara. I was in the tent and pulled off my boots and socks, only to hear the new guy gasp outside the tent window. My toenails were painted red (I had been painting my nails for many years). I was mortified, but as he said 'I didn't know "he" was gay!' I heard the other guys laugh and say, ' "he" isn't, "he's" just a little differen." I then understood they had figured me out years ago - ha!

So I was a crossdresser? Yes - I guess they thought I was.

But the new guy slept under the stars that night, because he wasn't sure!

The next day I acted like it was the most natural thing in the world, and soon everything was just fine. I think it was my first lesson in ATTITUDE.
