Hi,

I am here because of my dog. I was taking him for a walk and thinking about various things in an attempt to figure out why I am so depressed all the time (I am mostly functional because of brain-drugs). Suddenly, as we were walking up the hill, I realized that it wasn't so much that I thought I was fat (I'm not even close), but that I have the sensation of having a male body hiding beneath my female body. It was something of a Eureka! and Crap! moment combined. My dog and I hurried home so I could talk to my fiancee (Puppy Girl who already posted her introduction). We basically spent the next three days figuring out new reasons why it makes so much more sense for me to be male than female.

While this all happened, maybe two weeks ago, I've been thinking for months about why I am very attached to identifying as bisexual. Puppy Girl is a lesbian and as I am female-bodied and with her, people assume I am also a lesbian. Which should be totally fine, I mean, does it matter? For some reason it really mattered to me. So I came up with this "original" idea that it bothered me because I'm bi in terms of gender as well as sexuality. Somehow, despite that thought, I did not make the connection to the idea of transsexualism. One of those things that Puppy Girl and I think is related to my maleness...I am SOOOOO BAD at self-knowledge type things. Happily, she is basically a self-knowledge genius and therefore has helped me in SO MANY ways as we've been together. (You will notice that I tend to fan-girl over her a lot...)

Anyway, I found this place and started reading a few days ago. And now I am here This is a little long for an intro...so I'm going to just say one last thing... While I am here I am going to try out male pronouns. It is a little odd, but I want to see if I like it once the novelty wears off. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how I feel about myself and with what category I most identify. For now I put androgen because I really feel as though I am both genders at once...

Nice to meet you. I hope that this site can help you come to some conclusions about your gender identity. If you by any chance start being really, really bothered by anything gender-related, you might want to look into getting a gender therapist.

It's fantastic that your fiancee is here as well, and that she's supportive of you. That type of relationship is incredibly valuable.
