I had a very bad experience with a gender therapist when I was in my late teens. There's a long complicated back story, only one side of it that I know about but it ended in me denying who I am and not trusting myself for over 15 years now. I'm 43 now and very afraid to try again but I'm getting to the point where I have to do something. Does anyone know of a gender therapist in or around Halifax, Nova Scotia or how I might go about finding one? I looked on the psychology NS website and there is no one who comes out and says that they are gender therapists.

I am too far South to help (Louisiana) - did you see a therapist that was a Psychiatrist or a Psychologist? My experience (and this is only me) is the first tries to find a cause and a cure, the second is concerned more with your mental health and happiness.
