Drawing Down The Moon Question

I have had a situation that has troubled me, and this was at the last Ice Moon Ceremonial Time, a day after The Maid actually, which I tend to observe.

I have a now ex-wife that was , I believe now, partially used by dark forces. When I asked my people about it (I am also hereditary CRAFT) they stated this was taken care of and I was NOT to endanger myself by Craft intervention, nor to use Wicca Magick as it would be a threat of my xxxx (you understand).

But I was meditating CRAFT and had an accident. I inadvertently released a small evil force (CRAFT - not Wicca). It was tangible and it tried to avoid my sensing it, but it was so incredibly empty and black, I could see it between the floor and the wall, hiding, and awaiting me to lose interest so it could strike. I had no idea what it's interest was, I just knew I had to send it back. My anger at my ex-wife had drawn it out.

It was about 18" or so long, leach-like shape, and scary as hell, (which is what it was - from the evil part of the other side). Wicca rarely has anything like this, if at all. I have known Wicca for 17 plus years, and have been working it instead of CRAFT at every opportunity, but my people are CRAFT and give me better guidance, as it is given instantly. The aspects of the GODDESS tend to be more subtle. But Wicca has the CREATOR's Grace, and a safety from such things as I was now faced.

The question?

Has this ever happened to any of you? Calling Down the Moon? I had just purified the circle the night before and my connection with the four Aspects I use was strong, so I invoked them. [My People had told me to use my Wicca Magick as the CRAFT ways would be more dangerous, and there was no time to lose.]

I won't go into detail on the spell, but PM me if you want more information. The bottom line is I was able through the Aspect's, there recommendation actually - call down the GODDESS Herself. She took up the blackness in Her hands, like it was a snake, and extinguished it. I watched her pinch it out of existence, including the little dust-like droppings that tried to escape.

Of course this was in a trans-like state. The moon was still full as it was the third night. And I was doing this lying in bed.

I always thought the CRAFT as powerful, much more than the Wicca Way, but now I have rethought that.

All you practitioner's - consider drawing down the moon, if you never have. It works.

Any comments?

I've never heard of CRAFT. What is it and/or what does it stand for?

I missed this, sorry. Let me see if I can explain CRAFT. We do not usually speak of it, as you are almost always born to the CRAFT. Wicca is like the CRAFT, based upon the same ideals and heritage, but Wicca is both modern and a religion. Organized religions are just that, and under the Grace of what is considered God - in most 'modern' religions such as Christianity. In Wicca, God is recognized but is only the 'Male' aspect of the CREATOR. Does that make sense? And Wicca primarily recognizes the Goddess - the 'Female' aspect of the CREATOR. Christian's often consider that as paganism.

All that is a wonder as the CREATOR allows that, plus the Spirit (genderless aspect - many Eastern religions and common to Native Americans) to be accessible to we as humans. All that to access the CREATOR in a spiritual manner. The Spirit - sometimes divided into hundreds of aspects, is also considered Paganism by Christians.

So in our belief, Christians are missing the point. But recognizing a portion of the CREATOR in itself is okay, I think - although so many lessons and explanations are missed.

Still with me?

This all is protected under the CREATORS 'Grace.' All religion is. We are protected from the other side because of this... the other side being the absence of the CREATOR.

...................

CRAFT is both the side with the CREATOR's Grace and the side without. It is very dangerous, and you should not be or use CRAFT unless you are born to it. It is a thousand times older than Christianity.

...................

That's about the best way to explain it. It is not a visible thing.

I hope that helps a little.

So is the Craft a form of magic or priesthood? And what do you mean by being born to the Craft? Who is born the Craft and how does a person become born to the Craft?

Thanks for the explanation, Lizzy.

You are hereditary CRAFT? Does that mean you are a family member of a Wiccan? Family is something that had bothered me a while back when I read something on the internet meant to clarify Wicca to the general population and prevent discrimination because I was thinking about learning more about the religion but I didn't want to be alone if I were to practice it. As I was reading [the page didn't have much information and it almost felt like a brochure (this bothered me)] I had a picture of myself knocking on a welcoming stranger's door. I definitely felt like the person who wrote the page was hoping that some readers would eventually practice the religion but I was still drawn to it. I've had a lot of fantasies of doing certain things in the future before because there are a lot of things I would like to do and this was one of many but I imagined a search for people because when I learn I really enjoy learning on a personal level with a friendly mentor. I know I'm going on about myself but I was just thinking about what it would mean to feel like family. Loneliness issomething I worry about whenever I think about practicing Wicca.

Sometimes I wonder if Wicca was meant for me because of the idea of a female aspect of God. There is one sentence that doesn't make sense to me in the christian religion: We are created in god's image, male and female. Anything seem odd about that? It only makes sense in a metaphorical sense. I think it should make sense both literally and metaphorically. It makes sense if it means something deeper, like we all have a divine aspect to our mortal selves (like a soul that resembles god) but it doesn't make sense otherwise unless God is either genderless or both male and female. What you said about a female aspect to the creator clicks with me.

Obviously, there is another part of me that I have to live with. I respect secrecy when it is necessary and I normally don't ask questions immediatly but when I can I try to become friendly so that I can be open with others and others can be open with me. I don't like to force people to say things but I want people to want to share them. I know there are some things I can not know but I like to avoid seeing that wall so I don't think about what I don't know and if I were to practice Wicca I'd be staring at it. I would understand that it would be too dangerous and I would have to leave CRAFT alone because I am not hereditary but I would always wish I could know. Curiosity kills the cat. I'd wish I were a mind reader just so I could know what it is and feel like I had felt it even though I haven't. I have these feelings that I have to control and it kind of makes me jealous of you but I am a very envious person. There is nothing I can do but maybe read about it (and I doubt it's worth reading about such a nonphysical thing that you are having trouble explaining).

I have the faustian curse and I try to moderate it but what can I do?

I think I misunderstood something when posting this. When I heard born to the BORN I thought of born into it. Is that what you meant cause that is what I was thinking when I answered. Is it a symbolic term for initiation?

My whole issue is discomfort with exclusion and I have to accept such things at times but most other religions I've heard of has been very inclusive with potential for full initiation in everyone. Christianity has exclusive rites like the eucharist but anyone can become a member and be included. Judaism is kind of exclusive but there is no official exclusion. Orthodox families maintain some unwritten prestige but anyone can undergo years of study to become a Jew and any exclusiveness is of a social kind. The only religion I know of that has such prestige by birthrite is Buddhism and I'm not entirely sure if it's all denominations. You have to be born a monk to be a monk. Being born into the CRAFT makes me think that certain people have been given a special spiritual energy that protects them just because of who their parents were. Could you please explain to me what this exclusiveness is? I mentioned before that I wouldn't want to do it alone and would want to feel like a member of a community but it feels awful to know that I can never be treated like family. If that's how it is it's how it is though.

I have a personal practice of doing this every so often for added wisdom and guidance... i know there's a name for it, but i also keep a sketch pad next to me, and usually end up with something very interesting when i come out of my meditations... I have called down the goddess many times... usually in times of great stress. Usually any negativity i am holding onto comes out at that time. I also engage in a banishment at that time... if nothing is channeled into the paper, I have a banishment candle lit, and have the wherewithal to do so immediately. Unfortunately I have released and not banished negative forces on previous occasions... for various reasons... I send them into the aether so weak the rays of the moon can destroy them.

Probably not much help, but also reinforce my circle EVERY time... even if i feel the connection is strong... On a side note, i am a pretty capable healer, and can turn that negativity into a source of light... not always but i have. I have NEVER used my healing ability on myself, for i feel that will lead to selfish purposes, and therefore lose that ability.

Another side note, my wife while not fully engaged in the craft or wicca is incredibly sensitive to negativity, even within, and has been excellent at helping me rid our environment of it.

Hope all works out,

Melanie Dawn

I just like how our posts complimented each other.  Your point about publicity of pride events and that culture seemed to be spot on.  My culture and mindset is so different that I'm barely aware that things like that are going on.  I don't watch news and I'm very much into professional life and life-long learning.  There are all kinds of cultures out there.  Thanks for sharing your insights.

Here, the public image of LGBTQ+ is formed from the limited contact of the Pride Parade, which seems to always attract a few people who are into flamboyant sensationalism and inappropriate conduct, so there are arrests for lewd conduct, indecent exposure and public disorder.  Those are the people the news media always covers at the parade, as if everyone LGBTQ+ was like that.  The whole parade thing backfires, in my opinion.    Sometimes these types show up at protests as well, and of course, that is what the news media picks up on.    Some people need to be taken quietly aside and told they are not helping.   I don't know if that is the biggest block, but it is there.  Lousy marketing,

One of my roommates bought cheese and pasta and asked if I would make mac & cheese.  I walked to the store and bought 4 cups of milk and then used the preppykitchen.com baked mac and cheese recipe that works so well.  Melting a stick of butter and whisking in 1/2 cup of flour and then adding the milk.  Breadcrumbs on top.  It's amazing out of the oven, but just edible when it is cold in the fridge.  It's all gone this morning and that made me happy.

We made a mega batch of curried sausages today, with enough leftovers to go to others, and into our freezer for us.    Dished up with mashed potato and peas.

I know my transwoman appearance can be a negative trigger for men.  I mean, it even negatively triggers what is left of my male thought patterns.  I'm wearing a tight fitting, full length, black dress the last few days.  If I could get rid of my male "junk" today, that would be wonderful.   I'm not going wear clothing that I do not enjoy and I'm not going to avoid wearing things like this dress just to avoid triggering some people.  During my coming out phase, I was very conscious about going out in public.  Now, several years later, it doesn't even cross my mind at all.  I am free to express myself the way I want to.  I do get some negative reactions from people in the public places I go.  I think it is good for them to realize that when you are in public, you are not in control of who you bump into or what you see.   I'm a homebody.  Before coming out, I enjoyed dressing up at home.  Even when I was presenting as a male, I enjoyed dressing up at home, in a masculine way, even if I wasn't going to go anywhere.  I just like looking good and feeling my best.  And it isn't about showing that to other people.   So the "acceptance" part of this, is that I just want to be accepted as I am out there in public.  I just want to make my transactions out there and for people to be civil about it.  I'm actually for segregation on the level of if people want to form some club or tavern with a certain culture where they don't have to see and be triggered by me in my dress, and I can go to some club with people who are doing a trans thing, listening to down-tempo acid jazz and drinking ginger tea.  But then there are the super public places like the grocery stores that everyone goes to and you know, we need greater acceptance there.   The work/employment thing is a huge deal too.  I think trans people should not use it as an excuse to get out of work or create waves at work and that employers and employees realize that there needs to be professionalism at work.  At work, we're trying to get products to people.  It all boils down to that.  We all use these products and most of us go to work to keep that thing going.  Work isn't some social club.   Back to the lump in my dress...  I kind of step into a woman's world by doing this in that they have breasts sticking out that they have no control over.

My son has an industrial type stove on their farm.  I think he got it used online, he gets stuff online a lot.  Burns propane.  It is pretty nice.  I did use it when I was farm sitting for them.  But definitely overkill for someone like me living with a house-mate daughter.  We do our own cooking for the most part.  We also keep very different hours.

I saw Lane 8 last Saturday night at a wonderful outdoor concert/dance venue. When he played this song I almost cried. The words are such a powerful statement of friendship - to my ears anyway.

Welcome Felix!  It sounds like we have a lot in common with music on multiple instruments and food.  I'm not into lifting weights though.  That could be a good skill in the Marines.  I'm a Navy veteran.  They just stick us in a little metal room and sleep deprive us.   In all seriousness, I felt that it was good to travel the world when I was young and working.     Loved this "...but what can you do."  It sounds like you have a firm grip on reality!

It undoubtedly depends on what country you are in.  And even then, there would be discrepancies between policy and culture: what is allowed may not be accepted, depending on the personalities of the people involved.    For the Canadian Armed Forces, I found this in regards to acceptance into Basic Training:   "Transgender candidates may make request in accordance with CF Military Personnel Instruction 01/19 Transgender Guidance. The accommodations granted should aim at facilitating the integration and the success of the person making the request while complying with the Minimum Operational Standards as illustrated in the DAOD 5023-1. The final decision regarding accommodation measures rests with the Commandant of CFLRS."  https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/dnd-mdn/documents/military-benefits/QMB_QMBO_e.pdf   Presumably, this refers to things like bathroom and shower access.  It indicates that the official policy is to accept transgender candidates.  Whether or not the specific drill sergeant and the other recruits would actually accept them is something one could only find out by experience.

I see myself as athletic and makeup is not a part of that.  I've always been curious about lipstick and I do dress up quite regularly.  I'm certainly much more into clothing than makeup.  I don't own very many clothes either because I have minimalist tendencies.  I have been curious about lipstick and bought it for the first time a couple months ago.  I tried it twice and didn't like the kind I got, and then I tried again a couple days ago.  I got a nice hot pink this time that I'm happy with.  I'll experiment with it slowly and see if there is a keeper there.

I do have make up but do I use it. nope. it was mostly purchased as Sephoria. Some at wallys. Only thing I use on a regular bases is lip stick or gloss.   With my wife not using makeup at all. Mine is hidden away.   Kymmie
