Tria In-Home Laser Hair Remover

Hi ya'll,

I apologize if someone has already asked this, but has anyone tried the Tria Laser hair removal system? Considering the cost of laser hair removal at a spa, this looks like an incredible deal. Perhaps a little too incredible. I've read a lot of good reviews, but I don't know anyone who has personally used it.

Some years ago I tried some of the simple home electrolysis units like the One Touch, but they weren't very effective for me. I'm hoping the technology has improved since then.

Now there are home machine like the the No! No!, Verseo Epads, Vector, etc... Are there any of these that actually work?

I know that in the end I'll need to do electrolysis to deal with the stragglers, but I'd like to save money anywhere I can.

I got the Tria last year to get the random couple of hairs that show up after my laser was finished. It's not that amazing. I have very pale skin, on skin charts I'm always the lightest, but it still didn't get any thin brown hairs. It basically only works on coarse black or dark brown hairs. So it didn't do anything for my hair, even on my legs it was too thin. Once in awhile I get a hair or two on my face that is thick enough that the laser zaps it. It either doesn't come back or not again for months. So if you have a lot of thick hairs it might be worth it. I would still get a good clearing at least with professional laser. You wouldn't want it all coming back if it doesn't work, not to mention the area it zaps is like the end of a pencil. So it can take awhile and the battery takes forever to charge. It's also only supposed to work for about 250 charges of maybe 30 min to a hour each.

Kaitlyn, Thank you for the information on the Tria. Judging from your experience it doesn't sound like it would work for me either. I have light brown hair and I'm very tan and freckled.

I know I should have my face done professionally, but I've got a number of other problem areas that i just can't afford to do. I'm still looking into other systems, but none of the others are sounding promising either.

Any other info that anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.
