Recreational Highs

I'm not in the mood for a long wall of words, so I'll keep it short.

I popped 2 Ambiens (sleepy pills) last night and it totally made me wasted. My mom realized it and got mad and gave me a talking to lol. Ive been takin one every night just to get high for a couple weeks. I do need them to sleep sumtimes, but if I dont go to bed right away after takin them It just makes me stay up and makes me very wacky.

I never used to be the kind of person who would get high, but now (over past year or so) that Ive found out that it is a temporary relied for my uncomfortable anxiety Ive been trying to get high more often. Usually I wouldn't even feel bad about doing this. I'll smoke stuff with some of my friends sometimes (weed, which I believe is pretty harmless when used occasionally) and thats usually about it, but last night I popped too many pills and even sucked all the N2O out of a whipped cream can just to get even more high for 10 minutes.

Now, after the fact, I am startin to think how stoopid I am :o I dont feel to be addicted to anything; I am choosing to do all this stuff in order to relax and up my endorphin levels. I don;t wanna fall into the trap of trying more dangerous drugs after trying the more innocent stuff ive been trying now and proving the whole Gateway Drug theory right -_- .

I've been feeling kinda bad lately, with like no energy and this nightly ritual of sleepy pills high has helped me feel better b4 I get to bed, but sumthing tells me I am doing a bad thing and that I might just mess myself up. I am not really asking for help... just can I get some opinions on all this?

Well, you know what you are doing is wrong, which is good. What you do need to do is make sure you break the cycle of taking these drugs! Talk to your parents, if you can't, then talk to your doctor.

I was in a similar state a few years ago now, things had gotten too much for me, personal reasons, and I found that by taking a specific paracetamol based drug I could feel better. Originally it was prescribed by my doctor for headaches. Snag was, I started talking them in lemonade as there were effervescent tables and the max dosage was (I think) 8 a day.

Well, I was going though a box of SIXTY every few days, the high was never lasted long enough, so I took more. Yes, I was usually constipated, down to overdosing on the drug. It took me some time to realise just how much damage I was doing to myself, not to mention my purse as I had to keep going to different chemists to get my "fix" and the drugs weren't that cheap!

In the end, I managed to break the cycle of dependancy by myself as there was no one I could ask for help, but I did do it! I stopped cold one day and although my body craved it's fix, I managed to stay strong enough for long enough to break the habit. And that is what it was, a drug habit!

So, you have my sympathy and good wishes and I hope you are strong enough to break the habit for yourself, if not, see your doctor.

Im really glad your working on doing things right mezzi, you had me quite scared that one night. I'm sorry i got you in trouble with your mother but now that i see this post i know it was the right thing.

If you do need help talk to Bobbi, or one of the people in the substance abuse meetings, of course your always welcome to talk to me. It is nothing to be ashamed of, To be honest i used to have a bit of a problem with binging on alchohol. Luckly for me and my non addictive personality two times of near alchohol poisoning made me stop.

We all have something we do to make ourselves feel better. Its just moderation for the good things and for the bad things finding something good to replace it with.

I cannot speak for anyone else but for me if I am needding to take anything its a sure sign that all is not well-I spent a large part of my life self medicating if not with Alcohol or spliff then it was everfecent tablets for headaches(Up to 40 a day)-so now I am clean and sober I rely on these no longer and today I choose to feel my feelings-be they good, bad or indiferent x

Yeah, many sleep aids have the warning 'may be habit forming' attached. Maybe you could try NyQuil instead? That stuff is like 6% alcohol, it puts me right out.

Sometimes depression can cause you not to sleep. Or oversleep. With GID can be a problem with it. I have a problem with depression and go through that problem I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. Be careful with sleeping pills they are addictive.

Well just a long walk will boost the endorphin levels in the body and some calcium before bed like a glass of milk will put you to sleep . When the body

has a problem it sends a message to the brain for repair , if you choose a quick fix like a drug it will only mask the problem and put TOXINS in the body and the problem never gets repaired and the body will eventually shut down . There so many simple remedies for our bodies . Sleep is the most important one , as in the sleep mode our bodies has the chance to correct itself . And without digestion going on , the body can repair the body itself much more than sleep alone . So with that in mind one will need to cleansed the body by fasting . Not to take in solid food for a short period of time 2-3 days . Ask a nutritionist about fasting .

TOXINS in the blood will poison the body and cause trouble and disease .

ORGANICALLY is how I live . I fast once a month for 3 days and 2 ten day fast a year , yes thats 56 days a year without solid food . Our bodies can go weeks with out food , days without water , minutes with out oxogen .

Just try to live a healthy life style and you will be happier and live longer .

As for taking hormones the body will accept them better if you don't clog your body with TOXINS .

This topic is rather old, but your posting is really great! Why don't you rework it and post it as a topic in the General Forum - something like, 'Living Organically."

You would probably get some great responses.

We do ask you NOT copy it exactly.

Just a suggestion.

Be careful with sleeping pills they are addictive.

Like all drugs, Ambien has the potential abuse and dependence. Regularly using a drug to go to sleep sets up a dependence that can become harmful. Here is some info about Ambien: Ambien info
