I was wondering if there were any transmen in Virginia.

I personally don't know any but I am really eager to make friends that understand more about this all because mine don't. I'm just a bit...well...really confused about wanting to be a real boy and, I just want someone nearby that I could talk to. : /

It is understandable to want someone to talk to Mel. I can definitely relate to that feeling. Have you looked around for a gender therapist? Sometimes they will have contacts for support groups and other transgender organizations or people you can talk to. Im not in Virginia either..sorry. But if youre looking for a place to connect with some transmen in other places, youve definitely found a resource in Laura's Playground.

Also.. the Southern Comfort Conference is coming up in October..if you can come down to Atlanta you can find support AND fun down here at the conference. Just a thought.. and a shameless plug for an event I plan on attending.

Have you tried contacting a trans group around your area? Usually there's one somewhere. You might want to start by contacting your nearest LGBT community.

Hey Mel,

I checked out the meetings page on the FTM International webpage (http://www.ftmi.org/). Here's the only group I found for Virginia on there:

TG Support Group 142 W. York St. #815, Norfolk VA 23510. Maggie Chubb. LCSW: 757-625-2992. Open MTF/FTM support group Gender Reassignment Team.

Another good resource is Yahoo groups or LiveJournal. I found the Florida FTMs group on Yahoo. Just go on "groups" and "search for groups". Also, you might check out this group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FtM-trans/

It's a big group so there are likely to be some guys on there that live near you.
