How Do I Go About Finding A Gt With Insurance?

I have had health insurance for decades but have never really taken advantage of it. Well now is the time as I want to kick start my transition and settle some issues I have mentally.

I have Kaiser as my provider and from the information I have gathered so far, I have read that they do cover therapy and hormone treatment. Unfortunately SRS and FFS will be coming out of my pocket. Ouch.

But the question is, how do I find a therapist that is the RIGHT one. I live in Southern California (Los Angeles area) and any help/recommendations would be more than welcome.

Well, Hon......

First off, you'll need a "Gender Therapist' and not just any therapist....

Here is the list from our site....

There should be plenty in your part of the country......and check into your insurance and see if they cover it.....check their website (you have to know what plan you have...most insurance companies offer several..)

Everyone receives the same insurance from the company I work for. I'm lucky because SRS is covered. I don't know of any company that covers FFS. Not to say there aren't, but insurance companies consider FFS as cosmetic surgery. Therefore it isn't necessary.

I already scoured the list and emailed as many of the therapists I can find in my area.

I am still a bit confused though as my goal is to begine HRT and I know you need a special therapist to be able to sign off on it to be able to begin treatment. Is there anything specifically I should be looking for in a doctor/therapist?

Also if anyone has any personal experience with any specific therapist, any info would be welcome.
