I convinced my mom today to let me wear guy clothes. But i have to wait until my dad gets paid on friday.I was wondering...how can i go to the guys section of the store without feeling embarrassed/uncomfortable.I would be considered the teen section for guys clothing. Also i was wondering if anybody could give me suggestions on hairstyles that would look good for my face shape? Sorry for asking so much. I just want to make sure i look good and to be less embarrassed of going in the guys section. Here's a picture of me....21e0mkg.jpg If its too big sorry ill re size it.

I was thinking something similar to this hairstyle. two-tones-men-short-emo-hair.jpg

But i want to make sure whatever hairstyle i pick, looks good for my face shape.

Thanks,

~Axel~

Most people don't pay as much attention to us as we think they do, so don't sweat going into the guy's section of the clothing store. No one knows who you're buying the clothes for ... it could be a gift for a friend, a brother, etc., unless you're trying the clothes on in the store. Remember, businesses are looking to make a profit and will sell their product to anyone willing to shell out the cash.

I know my sizes in men's clothes, so I usually don't have to try things on until I get home. I keep receipts so I can return the odd purchase that doesn't fit. I find that men's clothes don't have the wide variation in cut that women's do, i.e., a size 30 pant is usually about the same from maker to maker in menswear, while a size 8 in women's can be really tiny or quite roomy depending on the brand.

Someone with a better eye for faces and hairstyles will come along soon and answer that question for you. I'm terrible at knowing what looks good on different face shapes. I could see you with more texture and choppiness in your hair.

Hey Axel,

About the guy's section... Just going in there and picking clothes up is really, really not a big deal. In addition to the excuse that you're buying the clothes for someone else, keep in mind that these days a lot of women (particularly young women and teenagers) do wear men's clothes, so even if you don't pass you're unlikely to attract trouble; people will just assume you're a tomboy. The only tricky bit is which dressing room to use, and I think that question really depends on how well you pass. Some stores do have unisex, single-stall dressing rooms, but most separate by gender, so you'll have to make a choice as to which room is best for you. Also, for things like T-shirts you don't really have to try them on.

I like the hairstyle choice, although I don't have much of an eye for which face shapes go with which hairstyles either. Just one comment, the hairstyle you're thinking of trying is sort of androgynous, so you may have more difficulty passing with it than with a specifically male hairstyle. That said, your current hairstyle appears fairly androgynous too, so you probably won't experience much change in how frequently you pass. Also, passing is not always the top priority - and androgynous hairstyles are often the coolest :)

Good luck with your shopping,

Avery

I think when it comes to going into situations like that, the thing is to just not worry about what people are thinking. Most likely they aren't thinking about you anyway and are just going about their business. Just have the attitude that you belong there. Also, you can usually avoid dressing rooms if you know your sizes. Men's clothes are pretty straightforward with sizing, so if you have a tape measure at home for measuring clothes/people, you could take your own measurements at home and figure out your sizes by looking that up online before you go shopping; and you can always return something if the size is off.

Like everyone else has said, there really isn't anything to worry about with going into the guys' section; but if it really, really bothers you, just go to a smaller store and go in when no one's there.

As for the hair, I think it will look good on you. Though like Avery said, you may have a harder time passing in it. You just have to decide what is more important to you -- passing or your style.

Good luck!

I'd say you'd look good with a Zac Efron sort of hair cut, or a short spiky cut where it's only spiked in the front.

Most people don't find it weird to see a "girl" in the boys section, so you'll be fine as long as you use the appropriate change room.

Good luck on selling your wife on the idea of a different car. This could be tougher than negotiating with a dealership.   My wife agreed to my taking profit out of the company to buy a used truck once we found out the 2014 F-250 I currently had with 267,244 miles on it was needing new torque converter solenoids and the DEF system is chocking up. We bought a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, Duramax 4X4, with 163,000 miles. LTZ Off Road package, power mirrors, chrome step boards, rear camera, exhaust brake, and air lift bags on the rear suspension. It belonged to a friend of mine who also owned a mobile training business.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

At the other end and in our favor is Julia Serano's analysis of the Cass Report Fiasco   https://juliaserano.medium.com/the-cass-review-wpath-files-and-the-perpetual-debate-over-gender-affirming-care-8f56d0c4d0c6   Serano is a Trans Woman and a molecular biologist herself, guess whose evaluation I honor.

That's great @MaeBe hopefully the company will offer your wife a moving package with the new job position. That's how I was transferred from the St. Louis Metro area to the Indianapolis Metro area. The company covered all the moving expenses, as well as a three week stay in an extended living hotel while we chose an area to build our current home.   Good Luck and make it a happy adventure.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

@Birdie is the day care in charge of your MyChart, Hospital, and Doctors as to how you are cared for? There has to be some way to prove that you were born intersex and have a choice on your chosen pronouns. I wish we could do more for you. Keep pushing forward.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

The Republicans are not interested in compromising.  Johnson will be gone for compromising unless the Dems help him out.

Biden campaigned as the master negotiator, able to push legislation through Congress.   Whatever bill a Dem president, a Dem Senate, and a Rep House can agree on might be  more palatable than a bill with a R president, R Senate and R House given present attitudes. They are throwing away a chance.

A bill like this would never get through congress, even if it were allowed to be voted on.

Ha, that's funny - I swear this is the one I used to use in high school to get around school blockers and play games. 😅🤦‍♀️   Though I'd be wary of using a free VPN today, if your only intent is bypassing censorship, I guess it works. Proton VPN also has a free tier with a limited selection of countries/servers. I feel more comfortable recommending them as they actively try to fight censorship with new evolving VPN protocols, and they protect your privacy. They are also directly funded by their paying customers. So there is really no downside to using their free tier over another free VPN that may not have the same goals/values.

That sounds pretty accurate. I'm just glad I don't use Windows anymore, as I basically consider Windows itself a virus/malware. Backups can absolutely save you from some types of malware like ransomware. However it's ideal to just not get infected by having smart browsing habits. It's been said, and very accurately so, that the best antivirus is you - even the best antivirus isn't 100% accurate in detecting bad stuff, if you go out looking for that stuff or browse carelessly.   I guess if you don't care and/or don't have sensitive data on your PC, then that's fine I suppose. I personally care a lot - personal accounts, private messages, and even my very presence on this site aren't necessarily things I want to be public knowledge. 🤓🫠
