A Reflection To Behold

Streams of silver

Laced with golden banks

Flickering trees

Embedded gems in leaves

Riches beyond bound

Left in some common ground

Most people can see it

But not I

So I wonder along trodden paths

of dead decaying things

Banks crumpling into murky waters

and a foul smell

Most people can't see this

Why can I?

What a deep and lovely poem. Sure the ending isn't full of rainbows but the message is clear and profound and reflects one aspect of life experience quite well.
