Confused About Who I Am

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a little support and guidance on figuring my identity out. I'm a 20 year male. I have liked to cross dress, since I was a child. I haven't told anyone about it I was perfectly content to have my special moments alone when I got dressed and played around a bit. I have always been attracted to women However recently when I have been dressing I started thinking about having sex as a women (with a man). And this led to a creation of my alter ego tina. Now I'm confused as to whether I'm a crossdresser or maybe becoming a transsexual or what. Still none of my family or friends know anything about this

thanks

Hi honey. If you know you are crossdressing that already identifies as gender dysphoric as we at Laura's Playground classify it. I suggest that crossdressing is expressing a feminine side and transpeople wear gender specific clothing to express their femaleness. But after saying that I want to caution that I am not a therapist, no one here is either as far as I am aware. So we would be guessing at what to label you [me smiling].

If you want to use something? Maybe questioning works best now. There is nothing wrong with wondering what it is like to be the other gender, even to the point of wanting to know what it is like to have sex as a woman, with a man. So you are okay. I's always best to understand that you are okay as you are, and to know the world can be quite mixed in gender expression. Personally I feel the Creator made us the way we are, so those who attack that attack the Will of the Creator.

Welcome, and I hope you join us in talking about all this. We are nice and friendly here, and non-judgmental.

Thank you so much for the welcome and the support Julie. Its always nice to hear that I'm not a freak. I have a lot of guilt of this.

Welcome to the Playground, Tina.....

Hon.....cross dressing....I did it beginning when I was 10 or so....

And, I always felt guilty about it over the years...but, there is nothing to feel guilty about...

Then in 2008 I was diagnosed as Transsexual and it all made sense to me.....

I'm 61 now and live full time as myself (the female, Donna Jean...lol)

Think about talking to a therapist (gender specific) and if you are cross dresser...well, good enough....

If it goes deeper...you need to find out....ok?"

Tiina, many of us, myself included, were confused and doubting and guilt ridden for many years. I started out cross dressing too, and did through my 30's, but in my heart I knew I wanted to be a girl.

Cross dressers are included within the transgender spectrum, but don't necessarily or even frequently end up discovering that they are transsexual. Perhaps most CDers are just that, and even within that framework, there are many variations. One thing I've learned here is that there are more types of people in the world than there are categories, so try not to worry about labels. The important thing is to stop feeling guilty, because there is nothing for you to be ashamed of, and just enjoy being who you are.

Please look around the forums, familiarize yourself with the place, post your questions and comments, and learn all you can.
