Garter Belt Or Pantyhose

Guest Vieja

Recommended Posts

Hi all As an old person I started my cross dressing long before there was such a thing as pantyhose. I came to love the beautiful garter belts that I bought and the nylon stockings they supported. I tried pantyhose but never really liked them. I learned that while I was hooked on garter belts it was a good idea to make sure they were a good snug fit or they could slip over your hips and pull your panties down. It happened to me once at a mall parking lot as I walked from my car the belt slipped and I must have been a comical sight hot footing it back to the car while hanging on to my butt.

I like both. Usually I'll wear pantyhose, opaques, black or brown(-ish) though some days I prefer stockings, suspenders and either hooked off to a pantie corselette or corset. That way they don't slip, unless the hooks slip out of the corset loops but so far have only lost one at a time, so have never lost the stocking down my leg, yet!

I too started out CDing using garter belt or a girdle with stockings. Your right that a garter belt needs to fit correctly or you will have a problem. I have both garter belts and a Open Bottom Girdle with garters on it. I prefer one with at least 6 garters (3 on each side) over the ones that only have 4. IMHO, these are more for show in the bedroom than for use while out. I have seen garter belts with as many as 16 garters (8 on each side). A little over kill but your stockings will never fall down. LOL

Hi JoAnn, and Petra I have been out of touch for a while or I would have checked in sooner. I only have one garter belt at the moment (Sadly I outgrew two others) and it only has four garters. I didn't know that they came with more than four garters. Thanks for your input.

I love pantyhose, but at my current weight stockings are easier to put on. I like the feel of the continuos ssilky fabric from my toes to my waist - it makes me feel feminine and I have never cared that much for tight waist bands. I don't have much of a 'behind' yet - I haven't started on my hormones so I have to have a pretty tight garter belt to keep it from sliding off. Pantyhose give me that wonderful feeling of freedom that a dress does.

If I had the figure for it and was even 10 years younger, I'd love to go out in a body stocking with a skirt - talk about feeling feminine!

Started out with mom's girdle and stockings. Evolved with the current rends of panty hose. By far my favorite ones are L'eggs summer weight nude! Oh the thought of them alone make me a heany breather..WOW! Mia1

I answered this on another T G forum but I'll answer it here as well. I generally wear "Support" panty hose simply because of the fact that i suffer from severe Arthritis in the knees. Now it wasn't that long ago that I could actually buy Support stockings either . Yes they were to me great as they outlasted the panty hose due to their re-reinforced heels and toes . I also think that they gave a better support to my legs also. Then to, if you ran one thats all you did , one stocking. With panty hose you ruin a pair ! Also , I wear a lot of tights in the winter too. I look for the "shaper tights for the same reason ".

I have a couple of pairs of the old fashion garter stockings that I found months ago in a thrift store . I will wear them with a panty girdle just the same way we did in the late fifties and early sixties . Garter belts are , well, they're for the time when you're going to have them off sooner rather than later. I mean an encounter with you're other partner girls ! Yes , they are nice but I really prefer the feel of a long leg Girdle or Panty hose . Ellen Shaver

Garter belts and stockings have always been my weakness. They are sooo sexy. I recently picked up a maidenform long length bra that snapped at the crotch - Not sure what it is called. I cut the lower section off and added four garters and it is sexy as every and gives a little tummy support.

Hey Vieja,

I prefer pantyhose, but I will say this... for me, pantyhose, garters, kneehigh nylons, feel good at first, but after about 8 or so hours of wearing them, my legs start to say to me... enough! get these things off of me. It is ironic, pantyhose first on... my legs feel great, they are purring. Hours later... pantyhose off... my legs feel great, they are purring once again! I can sympathise with things falling down at very in-opportune times :)

LOL

I started out wearing my mom's pantyhose years ago and still enjoy wearing pantyhose.... but I really love thigh high nylons with some lace trim at the top...so sexy! I love garters too....they just make you feel so pretty and feminine.

Garterbelts and stockings are a lot sexier, but they are just too much trouble for everyday wear. For daily wear I prefer pantyhose or opaque tights, because I can just pull them on and go.

Hi Everyone,

It has been quite a while since I have been able to check into the Playground. It looks to me as though it is getting a lot more traffic than it was back in August. I am please to see that it is not only us older folks that like garter belts. The ones that I have are getting shabby from washing so it is time for me to go shopping and I love the thought.

I'd love to have a dinner party with Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Voltaire, and Ayn Rand.  Would definitely be an interesting time.

In the forward I learn that transgenderism is bad, and somewhere else that transgender ideology is bad.  I have not yet read a definition of either in the document.  I assume they are the same.  I know Focus on a Family has a definition of transgenderism on their website, or did, but I am not sure this is the same as that.  I might agree that transgenderism is bad if they use a definition I condemn (e.g. transgenderism means you always pour ketchup in your shoes before you put them on - I could not agree to that).  Is someone who believes in transgenderism, whatever it is, a transgenderist? I never see that term.  There may be other definitions out there, but I don't think there is an Official Definition that we all agree to.

Crazy fact, was gonna go to the school where this went down at before I moved, have a lot of friends there. I know at least one of my friends met the guy on one occasion, not knowing who it was.

They are thinking of Loudon.  The problem there was the girls were not protected from a known predator, who was moved from one school to another instead being effectively disciplined.  Outlaw school administrators? <sarc>

How ironic.  I agree with the governor "“You cannot change your gender; you cannot pick your gender…there is a confused group of people that somehow think you can,”    - we are what we are, we are fighting the fact we CANNOT change our gender, which we did not pick.  Many if not all of us would not have picked a trans condition and have sought to evade, deny or move out or resolve it anyway we can.  Those who are confused on this issue are not trans folk.  They want us to change our gender but they deny we can.  Confusion.

@FinnyFinsterHH no one can satisfy your questions about what will the future hold. But I can advise you to slow your mind down as much as you're able. Take it slow and one moment at a time. This advice goes beyond the practical reality that that's truly all you can do - further, try to enjoy each moment. It's clear you have a lot of aspirations regarding transition. But it's best to try to accept the bounds of your life circumstances at present because if you develop worries or even resentments about them, that will only make you bitter and more anxious. Instead, try to focus on anything you find affirming. Practice positive self-talk and give yourself affirmations too. Try to let go of expectations of your family members - they can only deal with change to the capacity they're able due to their own life conditions. Allow them grace as you wish they would allow you. Practice patience.   Try this exercise - read through your post and make one list of the positive developments and another of things you cannot control (including the future). If you have a sense of spirituality, offer the second list as a sacrifice to however you understand a higher power - leave it in their hands. If you're not spiritual, then offer it up to hope. Then throw that list away. Keep the list of positives and leave some room on it because guaranteed you'll have more and more to add. Look forward to that, but don't let your mind think it can rush things. Try to enjoy the ride.

I still have not read much of this.  Very little of this document pertains to trans folk.  Some of the statements are more than problematic concerning trans folk.   It certainly was not written just to get us.   " those with gender dysphoria should be expelled from military service."  and "Reverse policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military. Gender dysphoria is incompatible with the demands of military service,"  https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_CHAPTER-04.pdf are two lines out of hundreds if not thousands regarding the Department of Defense, targeting trans folk in an almost off-hand manner.    So if a fighter pilot, say, or a ship's captain, highly experienced and trained at enormous expense, is determined to be transgender (method unknown) the US loses someone badly needed due to the personnel shortage who is ready, willing and able to perform their duties.  Many trans folk have served well and transitioned later.  I don't think this point is well thought out.    A number of policy recommendations I would disagree with.  I am not sure there is a method to discuss those with the authors; I am attempting to find out.  I have good conservative creds.    They are fully intending to implement this, regardless of who the president is, as long as that president is conservative. It is not Trump centered.  I don't think he had anything to do with it.

I wear a Delimira Mastectomy sleep bra with Vollence sleep rated breast forms. The form fit inside pockets so they don't touch your skin. I bought the bras on Amazon and found the forms on eBay. They were much less expensive than buying through the other sources.

@LittleSamCongratulations on one of the biggest decisions. Looking forward to your progress.

I don't wear a bra to bed.  The girls aren't big enough to need it, but still enough to appreciate.  Just a flannel nightgown suits me fine.
