Nearly no breast growth from Hrt at all?

Hey everybody, I've been on HRT for 17 months, and I've had next to no breast growth at all.. (which was also pointed out to me by a nurse at the hospital last week.. She wasn't trying to be mean when she said that, but still, it is annoying to know you're totally flat-chested..)

I do realize that breast growth can take a long time,, but I don't think it's normal that I'm still an AA size after 17 months of

hormones..

The nipples and areolae are still as small as when I first started HRT nearly a year and a half ago..

I'm taking * mg of Estradiol every day, which should be enough normally.. My estrogen levels are in the normal female range, I had a blood test done not so long ago..

I have a rather small frame, I'm 1,59 m (5 ft 3 in) tall and started HRT when I was 15..

I just had my SRS two weeks ago, so I stopped taking antiandrogens and I was told to contact my endocrinologist in order to reduce the dosage..

Am I missing anything? Should I ask my endo for progestogens too(I heard they are involved in breast growth - is that true?)? Or is the dosage too low? I don't get it, especially since my mom is a C cup and every female in my family has a big size..

Oh, and I really want to avoid breast surgery..

My next appointment with my endo is only in October though, that's why i'm asking here :s

Or are there any exercises to increase breast growth or stuff you can eat? This seriously is bugging me a lot and making me feel uncomfortable..

Thanks for your replies :)

My friend Ebony is a Genetic Girl. She is sporting an E cup. But, for 4 years sat at an AA.

Perhaps you're a late bloomer?

Or, I don't -want- to say, or perhaps you're a small chested girl.

I was a AA after 3.5 years of HRT so I had an augmentation done at the same time as SRS.

Everyone is different and just because your Mom is a C doesn't necessarily mean anything. I would suggest trying a micronized progesterone like Prometrium; what do you have to lose? Try it for a year and see if it helps. FTR I used it for a couple years myself and my results would have been worse than they already were without the Prometrium. One more note, sometimes people claim to get a little boost in breast growth after SRS.

My Doc also put me on Prometrium to help with breast growth....But, unless you change two whole cup sizes...it's really hard to say if much is happening...32 months into HRT I'm an "A+".....

Both Dee Jay and I are on Progesterone. It's hard to say if it helps or not. It does make you cry a lot for no good reason. Dee Jay has not had as good of results as I have with long term breast development, but YMMV. I would give it three years and then think about augmentation.

I plan to wait about 3 to 4 years before making the step of getting a BA. Sometimes there is no other choice for us if we want to get to a decent size that we can wear a dress without a bra helping the girls show a little.

Do remember you have a father's side of the family as well as a mother's side. My mother was a C+, and neither of my sisters got higher than A, and I am a small B at two years HRT, My daughters are both badly over weight and do have D and DD they will probably be much smaller when they get their weight down, That in mind though, you might look into the idea of a diet change with a certified nutritionist. If your Body Mass Index (BMI) is low, you can put some weight on and be very healthy.

Hmm.. I don't really know about the relatives on my father's side, I see them like once every 2 or 3 years.. But I do think that their bust sizes are considerably smaller.. Didn't think of that..

I have a BMI of 19.5, I could put on a little more weight.. I guess I really will check with a nutritionist.. Thanks for the suggestion :)

I know this may sound stupid, but breast augmentation kind of feels like cheating to me.. I really didn't want to do that.. But on the other hand, I don't really want to have to wear push-up bras for the rest of my life.. And I would like to be able to go to the pool and wear a swimsuit without feeling totally "flat" lol..

Okay, then I will ask my endo for Prometrium next time I see him, can't wait.. And who knows, maybe I really will get a small boost now that I'm post-op =)

Thanks for your replies, everybody :)

Genetics might be playing a cruel joke on you and a lot of breast growth depends upon our heredity. Since you state that you started HRT at 15 I would suspect that it's not a problem with the HRT so much as family history. There is all no guarentee on size for genetic girls either. One of my sisters never made it past an A-cup while one of my other sisters had to have reduction surgery...go figure.

I would give it a couple of years at least before being too worried about it, it take genetic girls a number of years to develop too...

Peace, love, and contentment,

Isabelle

May I ask is that Provera or Prometrium? As I explained in another post Provera is a progestin, not progesterone. Provera has a track record of side effects like yours as well as causing anxiety. Prometrium (micronized progesterone) is much better tolerated in my experience.

Leah........I was on Prometrium for the first year and Provera the second....

When I started Prometrium I was on it every day....Then Provera for the first 10 days of the month only...

Am I right that Prometrium is not available as a generic and much more expensive?

Julie has been on Provera the whole time...

No, there is at least one generic available, it's called Microgest. If I remember correctly the Microgest was around 15-20% less expensive than Prometrium.

Good morning   It sounds like everyone either got rain or is about to.   Me too, we have a double red flag at the beach (which people ignore). Storms predicted, although yesterday they stayed north west of us, today they should slam straight into us.    it seems like every day my wife does a little bit more for herself.  She still has a long way to go to be fully recovered however.  Today’s coffee did not come in a pod but it is still a single. Grounds in a replacement for the pod. Less convenient but it is just as good.  Ugh, I didn’t use enough coffee.  I’ll know better next time.  But that’s why you need to use the real thing.   another shortened day today, which is fine by me, followed by grocery shopping.  Not doing the Costco thing, neither of us want that.  Coffee pods will be on the list.   adios amigos, hi ho silver up up and away   the separated and the end of every show but we’re always together again next time on their show when the Lone Ranger needed help.

Good morning, everyone!!   I got our porches and outdoor furniture power washed yesterday. Let the warm weather festivities begin!! Well, just in time for the cool rainy weather we're supposed to be getting for the next few days.   Not sure what I'll do today - with rain projected I'll be stuck inside, I guess.   Be safe and have fun on your adventure @awkward-yet-sweet!!

I'm a masculine woman. It's not about masculinity though. It's about expanding what it means to be a woman.

It never rains but it pours.  We had a dry spring, but now my garden is a swamp and my yard is a pond.  Get off the gravel road, and you'd need a hovercraft.    With nothing better to do, I'm going on a short trip with my husband tomorrow.  Since he's in management he usually doesn't do this sort of work, but whenever he does I usually go along.  And he already knows not to try staying in a hotel, because I want to sleep in the bunk in the truck.  So much more cozy.    And for a couple of days, GF can actually take care of her own kids instead of leaving them to me....
