Shaving face - razor blades

Shaving with razor blades

I normally shaved with an electric razor but since I've been getting my laser treatment on my face I use a razor blade (disposable) when I want to have really smooth skin, for example shaving the white/light hairs. I'm finding that my skin seems a little rougher around the lip area or maybe the hair is getting a little tougher.

Question using a razor blade is that worse for the skin? Maybe I'm just trying too hard and it's too close a shave with me wanting it really really smooth.  Aso is it hard to shave when you're on hormones example cutting and bleeding easier? I'm not on hormones but just curious.

I always try to use a moisturizing cream for the face after I shave. It keeps it smooth and soft. Make sure to use at least a 3 bladed razor when shaving.

I use the Gillette 5 blade type, and instead of shaving cream, I use a cream rinse of the sort that you use after you shampoo your hair, or I use cold cream such as Noxema or Nivea which both are good for the skin itself too. The cream rinse idea came from an actual cosmetologist who deals with the TG community. On the Gillette 5 blade razor, I use the 5th blade that is on the back top edge of the razor to do both lips, and it gets the stuff real close to your lips, and the little sneaky ones just under the nose.

When I started Estrodiol I seem to bleed more now because it seems my skin is thinner or more sensitive. I don't know, maybe it's just me or it's all in my head.

I'm not sure about the bleeding but it's a lot easier to get bruised from bumping something.

I shave face with a simple single edge disposable. I get good results, I don't push hard, I use a gel (Satin Care).

As far as HRT goes, it does slow down growth, and my old grays are not nearly as ruff on the face, I get better results now. Can't wait to be done with this, but that's another story.
