Baptist belief? About transgender

I'm just curious what the baptist teachings, standpoint, belief is about transgender people.

I live in Canada so I don't know if it differs from other baptist churches in other countries, the U.S. Etc. I've been checking out different churches out of curiosity.

From what I hear around the other forum I go to, I asked a similar question. It wasn't good. The typical, "God made you who you are and you are calling him a liar by changing yourself like that" etc etc. They seem to be a bit more strict and literal about their following of the badly mistranslated bibles they read.

The Baptist church has two divisions here in the US, and a couple of churches that use the name Baptist that are not affiliated with the major Baptist affiliations. The non affiliated churches and the Southern Baptist Convention are not TG friendly or for that matter GLB friendly either. These churches do rely on biblical lteracy from the King James Version of the Bible and a couple of newer versions that have inserted the words homosexual and homosexuality in them during the 1940's and later, and have not taken an interest in more recent biblical scholarship that indicates something else entirely is what is being prohibited.

The American Baptist Convention is more accepting than the others, and some of their clergy will counsel GLBT people without trying to convert them to heterosexuality, and in some churches the members can be accepting of individual GLBT people, but not as a whole. I am still waiting to hear from my family expert on Baptists, (he is an ordained minister) in regard to my coming out letter which I sent two months ago to his mother who is my first cousin.

They seemed friendly enough although I never really like it when going to a new church being asked my first and last names, where I live do live by myself and what sort of work. This was chatting with some folks after the service I had been sitting with or came up to me because they hadn't seen me before. I'm wondering if I will be getting a welcome package or something next in the mail.
