Hi there group.., im new in here...

I am deciding wheter start HRT or having an Orchiotomy...,

The issue is that im 35 and im married to a Genetic Girl and i would like to continue having erections so i can still make love or sex to her..,

Is this possible? if it is possible what would be the formula to achieve this?

Thanks..,

Cheers,

7 months for me and I'm still capable in that regard. It's different for everyone, but generally the longer you are on HRT, I think, the less functional you tend to become.

If you aren't willing to risk losing sexual function, HRT might not be right for you at this time. I think you should discuss it with your doctor before making any major decisions.

HRT will give more flexibility than an Orchi. Both have a good chance of causing a loss of function.

The statements made in other replies represent the typical experiences people relate. The longer on HRT typically the less likely. Since most responses were by those on HRT 1 year or less that sampling does not give a good indicator of the longer term results.

As for the most likely formula, best bet would be to ask your doctor about that. I imagine not going on a T blocker would be the first component to maintaining some function which is why an Orchi would be an option to avoid. Second would be to stay on low estrogen.

Even if ability to have an erection is maintained, there still will likely be some loss in duration and sensations will be altered. Particularly sensations relating to orgasm.

Thankyou all for your input...., and your friendly words...

And perhaps do you think viagra, cialis might be an option?..., how do transexual girls that work in porn films or prostitution do it???

i wish there would be a way....

Erectile dysfunction medicines increase blood flow and could help with the mechanics but they WON'T act to return libido.

But here's another thing no one mentioned or asked. Why is having an erection needed for sex? There are tons of sexual activities/practices that don't require erections or penises at all for that matter. It could be something to look into. Fact of the matter is if you really want an effectively physically changing cross gender hormone therapy it is going to be hard to keep functionality down there or at least to not have it impacted.

Also, don't be confused or mystified by porn actresses. A lot them opt or just have surgical procedures done and aren't even on HrT. Some also go on and off of it to keep that functionality which could be dangerous. I'm no medical professional, but hormone levels aren't something to invert every three months.

Orva, above, speaks the truth, hon. Do NOT get on Viagra or Cialis just to "get it on" if you're not ill! Generally, these medications are for diabetics; however, other conditions can, and do, cause vasoconstriction necessitating their use. Yeah, I'm in the medical field (paraprofessional (word slave)).

Remember, those people you see in the X-rated websites are YOUNG, capice? In your mid-30s, you are unlikely to be Mount Vesuvius, so don't worry about being so. I'm just 3 weeks shy of being on hormones for 2 years years, I'm age 56 and everything works just fine. However, I don't have relations with anybody and haven't in many, many years. This is due to circumstance rather than choice.

I know of one young Canadian transsexual woman who has been on hormones for nearly 5 years, has a girlfriend that "he" was admitted with before transitioning, and they still do the horizontal bop like they always did. Yes, they're staying together. No, she does NOT want SRS for this very reason. She maintains that SRS is generally cosmetic surgery anyway with which assertion I concur, moreorless.

Oh, this youg T-girl of whom I speak is no dummy. She's now 26 and just about to receive a Ph.D. in computer science, transitioned while in her degree program, is fully out. Yes, potential employers know all about this. Yes, she's getting job offers out the yin-yang.

If you have a genetic woman staying with you throughout all of this, DAYYUM, honey: Get DOWN, and rock ON!!!

 Lacey :friends: Lynne

Thnx Orva...,

I have always thought that if i enter HRT i will be more excited about being transformed into a woman...., actually i self gratification thinking in the idea of being on HRT and transform myself more into a female...,

Would this psycological excitment could help into continuing having erections, self gratification, perhaps being actively sexual?

Whats the difference between lack of livido and be helped by cialis, viagra to the mechanics of being sexually active?

thankyou so much....

Shilo.., sexually speaking how is your experience with your wife?

It's wonderful. Probably more so now than ever before, because HRT awakens other areas and makes foreplay and snuggling much more desirable. Understand though, that my experiences with her are so incredible because I have such deep feelings for her and her pleasure is as important to me as my own. I doubt I could even function with someone I didn't love.

...Genetic Girl...

I hate that phrase so, so much.

No, she does NOT want SRS for this very reason. She maintains that SRS is generally cosmetic surgery anyway with which assertion I concur, moreorless.

I also hate the fact that because something works for one person, they choose to invalidate everyone else's experience. Maybe you don't want SRS, but that doesn't mean that other people who feel they need it don't actually need it.

Anyhow, I responded to Vidia in her other thread, so I'll leave it at that.

With all due respect, and I do mean that, I think you're taking her way wrong...

For starters, you can't really get upset at her for using the term Genetic Girl, since it's a widely accepted term and in abundant use here at Laura's.

Secondly, what she said in no way invalidates anyone's desire for surgery. SRS *IS* cosmetic surgery, but that doesn't mean it's not important to the mental and emotional well being of many trans people, and Lacey Lynne hasn't said or implied that it isn't. I know enough about her to believe that she would not intentionally say anything to offend you or anyone else, so please don't read more than what she wrote, she deserves better.

Just a note...I only noticed after I posted that you quoted two separate people. My reply remains the same, I just wanted to clear that up because my wording might be a little confusing.

I'll concede on the second point, but not on the first. I prefer the term "coercively assigned male/female at birth" (or AMAB, AFAB for short..with some flexibility on the spelling), because as far as I'm concerned, most transsexual people are genetically their internal gender and when you're born you obviously can't say "Wait, I'm really a girl!" or whatever. The opposites of "genetic" being something that is assimilated from the environment around a person, learned behavior, or simply a choice. In other words, I think the scientific evidence points to the fact that transsexuals really are genetically wired to be that way. It's not environment, learned, or a choice.

Thus, I am as much a genetic girl as Aretha Franklin or Madonna are.

Apologies for the slight derail, however.

Caution!

A lot of transwoman go through a "YAY BOOBS!!!!!" phase and then get confused when their own breast no longer excite them. HrT makes a person homeostatic feminine and part of that is the mere existence of things like breast are no longer erotically a big deal.

Would this psycological excitment could help into continuing having erections, self gratification, perhaps being actively sexual?

See above, eventually being female everyday will be normal.

Whats the difference between lack of livido and be helped by cialis, viagra to the mechanics of being sexually active?

Libido is the drive/desire to have sex. General speaking in males it is higher than in females and there is a correlation to the amount of testosterone present. So if the level of testosterone is suppressed by androgen blockers there is usually a decreased drive/interest in sex. Actually if someone is prescribed too much androgen blockers it is possible to biochemically make them permanently asexual.

Cialis, and viagra increase blood flow, that is all they do. Taking them on hrt won't bring back a strong interest in sex. What they will do is increase blood circulation so it is easier for the erectile tissue in the penis to become and stay engorged.

All this being said there are also people who become MORE sexually active on hrt than before it. Probably has something to do with becoming more comfortable in their own bodies as the changes progress.

One final thing to consider is that hormone therapy WILL change HOW your body can be sexual. Different areas will be sensitive and the way you become aroused will change.

  • 4 weeks later...

3 months for me yesterday and although both libido has dropped and random erections like morning wood is gone, I can still perform on command.

I have a partner (female) of 11 years and we do enjoy one another.

I concur with Shilo that I have noticed that I have increased sensations all over my body and the act of intercourse itself is of far less importance to me in the overall scheme of things.

I will say that the sensation of orgasm has changed WILDLY. It is now deeper, longer and more explosive than ever before.

And yes, I will be seeking SRS down the road (for the record).

As far as what is right for you, you need to be honest with yourself and your partner and deal with the possibility that you might lose that functionality or more importantly, the interest in functionality. If that is a deal breaker between you two, then you might want to hold off on chemical or surgical alterations.

@April Marie Yes, it's something to shop for at least for 6-8 weeks.

Definitely points to learn and keep in mind.  A bunch of stuff I had put in mental "cold storage" thawed out a bit there and ready again to run through my mill.  As said, a bit long and as usual from her a tad bit challenging.  Overall I see it and can use it as a working hypothesis.

Yeah.  I like Nebula, that was where I watched it.   I posted the YouTube cause I figured more people could see it.

We agree on most of this... and the church/state thing is kind of a tangent anyways. Oops. LOL   I think it has long been established that all different kinds of groups have access to public funds. In my opinion, either everybody has access or nobody does. I would prefer "nobody."   Relying on public funds gives the government the power to take it away, and puts that power in the hands of whatever group controls the government at the moment... the news article that is the topic of this thread shows a clear example of that happening.  Organizations trust government at their peril.

More info on Abigail Thorne here: https://go.nebula.tv/philosophytube and, Dracula's ex-girlfriend, on Philosophy tube.   "The reason why Nebula is so cheap for what it is, is because there's no upper hierarchical group looking yo skim off the top. Imagine how much cheaper EVERYTHING could be if it was like that for every other service or product; if the money went straight to workers, not up a chain of command until it reached someone who did exactly "jack" to produce what's being sold.

I'm aware that the young US ended up fighting a war with these people, and that phrase was not meant to address Church & state.  But somebody was willing to include it at the time.   I am also aware that your family arrangements would not go over well with most christian nationalists.  But that is kinda where I'm coming from on this.  I believe you and others of us with an unconventional lifestyle should be free to live as we desire - as long as we are not hurting anyone else.  And by "hurting" I don't mean only their feelings.   Using christianity to justify oppression is just wrong.  As is forced conversion, or forced conversion therapy.   Regarding public funds, LGBTQetc people have as much right to them as straight-cis folks.  I'm not arguing that queer people have more rights, just equal rights.

Even better news:  It turns out for my sister it was cardio not stroke. She’s put on new blood thinner and sent home. False alarm! Yay.

Things have changed since I've been on HRT for about 15 years. The consequence is I am not so concerned about how I present all the time.  I wear t-shirts a lot. I am pragmatic in how I shop. No, I don't want to look male, but will buy some male clothing because it fits. I am tall and built like a football linebacker, so buying women's clothes that fit can be difficult. For one I have no problem buying men's sneakers if they can pass as unisex. I wear size 12-13 women's shoes. And that can be hard to find. And, I don't like wearing slacks without pockets. I use pockets for work.    I've learned to be pragmatic. I dress up when I want to go out in public, and not so much at work. I do have a favorite blouse that accentuates the girls. And one blue striped blouse where I wear a cami top.

https://www.patheos.com/blogs/danthropology/2016/05/secularists-please-stop-quoting-the-treaty-of-tripoli/   ^^^ an interesting piece about the treaty, written by an atheist.   I totally understand why the Christian nationalist stuff makes people uncomfortable. For me, it is uncomfortable in a different way, as modern Christian nationalism is not nearly as "generic" as the views of the Founders.  Its specifically Evangelical.  I'm in a plural marriage, so definitely not approved of.    I believe the intent of the Founders was to uhold generic Christian ideas... "in God we trust" and "there's a God who created the world and He wrote ten commandments for us" sort of stuff.  Nothing beyond that, nothing specific enough to use against folks.

Free?!?!  That's insane.  I can understand perhaps mistaking somebody's well equipped garage as a business, but demanding free work is ridiculous.   My GF once remarked that while few things in life are free, butt-kickings are an exception. She offers those free-of-charge, to any who ask. A little charity helps the world go round 🤣
