I feel sorry for the little bear Cubs whose mo had to be euthanized for attacking people and are now living in a sanctuary.

Is there some other kind I should know about?

Do they play some kind of game?

JohnJ

No, don't worry, Cubs can't play baseball. :P

So if they get paid that much for just running around with this thing tucked under their arms or trying to stop someone else who is doing it-what could I get paid for actually coming up with a new and accurate name for the sport?

I'm off to e-mail the NFL!

My money troubles are over.! And thanks Sally-I'm sure they'll be impressed it's also actually a pun!

Yeah Right!

Won't that have to be the NFR?

malapropism

A broken crutch? [is that politically correct?]

Lizzy

Lizzy - let's not get started - you know how long we can keep this up and I have work to do.

But if you do want to get started a malapropism is a reason for a small plane crash - "It was flying just great until it developed a major malapropism." :P

Love ya,

WHICH WAY?

Away from the guys who start running at you I think.

I've seen spikes on the shoes so I guess you can defend yourself if they get too close.

The opposite direction of all the 300+ pounders trying to pummel you.

And for all these years i thought you were supposed to run through those guys to score points.....

IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!!!!

"Football is a mistake. It combines the two worst elements of American life. Violence and committee meetings."

Update; This is a real quote!!!

Being a woman is of special interest only to aspiring male transsexuals. To actual women, it is simply a good excuse not to play football.

Fran Lebowitz

The 'male' transsexuals part is technically incorect - but I thought it was a remarkable find!

Another good one:

"The reason women don't play football is because eleven of them would never wear the same outfit in public."

Cause they get paid like 10 million dollars a year to. lol (true though)

Someone can get paid 10 million a year to play a game, but there's starving people in the world who can't eat and sick people with no healthcare. What is wrong with this picture?

This is kinda the same problem with Washington. Most of the country thinks these people are all liars and crooks. But they get their power from us.

My dad was at the opening game at Soldier Field yesterday. He paid $100....for parking! What could that money do for a soup kitchen? And everyone looks at it like what's my $100 gonna really do to change this city. But it's a whole parking lot full of $100 to give to some guys who'd be in jail for their anger issues if they weren't playing football. And little kids go to bed without food every night in this country.

Okies...let's see if my rant kills this thing.

Nope. But I agree with you.

And feel just as outraged that the people who teach our children often make less tan janitors. Think what some of that money could do for them.

Or programs for gifted children. Our brightest minds are going to waste because they are dropping out of shools that aren't able to teach them. Given the intellectually gifted level of transpeople on average this is also that affects us. Look up the statistics -the more gifted a person is the higher the probability they will drop out of school and consequently have other life problems. Since other countries provide special education for their best minds we are falling behind in many areas.

The schools don't ave programs because they don't have the money-and look at what we pour into athletic teams and programs.

Tragic. But a reflection of our priorities.

Ooh, if politics doesn't kill this thing, Nothing will.

The right wing is always complaining that the government's too big. But WE control the government! Or at least we would if we worried less about what Lindsay Lohan is doing and a little more about what our own legislature is doing. How many people watching "Keeping up with the Kardashians" or "Kate plus 8" do you think can't name their own Senators? If half the people watching ESPN started watching C-SPAN instead, how much better off would we be?

Wanna know why so little is consistently spent on education? To keep us stupid. Rich people send their kids to private schools where they get the best education money can buy, so they can take over Mumsy and Daddy's companies when they retire to their private island in Barbados. The working class send their kids to public school when they don't learn anything and join the masses as a majority so dumb they actually believe they have a chance to become one of the top 2% someday, so they either don't vote or actually SUPPORT a system that gives 80% of the world's wealth to 2% of the world's population.

So vote and change it. It's the only way. My generation believed we could change the world.

And you know what? We did. It IS a better world in many, many ways-including public access to information and awareness of the rights of individuals, student rights and services, job protect. accountability. On and on. I grew up in the 50s and nostalgia aside it really wasn't a very nice-or even a very free time.

Besides-as someone wise recently pointed out to me-they even still play our music!

But do you know how upsetting it is to see the young rebel rockers o my youth now wrinkled and liver spotted?!

We don't control the government anymore. What kind of evil, deceitful person tell you that you have any control over the government these days? IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY! Also, when a couple of people 'on top' decide what laws or rights 'I should have' and 'what is right for everybody', it doesn't sound anything like justice. For heck's sake, and the people in the government themselves... I'll be quiet about them. Seriously, and why do people believe that they can't live without the government? Intense brainwashing? I'd say that it just makes everything worse. Never made my life any better for sure.

I'm not sure about public schools, though. I can only tell you about the ones that I've been in. I've studied in a school that is considered one of the 'best' and 'most prestigious' schools in my country. Going there was the worst thing I've ever done. I probably wouldn't have passed my exams if I had stayed in that 'prestigious' school. Also, I know plenty of great teachers in lesser-known schools [including my own mom]. They all agree - it's the students that aren't motivated and spend their time watching worthless shows, clubbing and shopping. Soon they won't remember how to open a book. I mean sure, intelligence isn't just books, but some things that they tell me are just freaky.

And about switching from ESPN to C-SPAN... Well, I don't know... Judging from the name, C-SPAN really just broadcasts more lies. How about turning off the TV? :] If everybody would turn off their TVs for a day... Now THAT would make a difference!

My therapist is trying a new tact. I've named my self protection self that ssays not eating or too much exercise because when I starting because oftrauma my protective self started and also at the time the name Shay came to me and is now part of my name.  It's not like having a split personality, just my primative self protection who is always there to help me. My therapist has Shay, me and him working as a team to assure her that I am safe and to start changing her role in my life so I protect me by eating right and exercising to maintain a heathy body. It is helping a little but we just started this a few weeks ago.

Good morning, everyone!!   Yesterday was lawn mower battery day. I've been nursing the battery on my Zero Turn mower for two weeks. It gave up the ghost when I stopped to refuel yesterday so I had to run over to the local shop to get a new one. And forgot my wallet so I had to drive home and back again.   Then, I was using the garden tractor with the bagger to pick up the clippings. I cut about 7 acres so it took me awhile. When I was done, I went to refuel it and, of course, it wouldn't start when I'd finished putting in the gas. I'm hoping it was just some corrosion on the cables - cleaned them up, gave it a quick charge and it started right up. We'll see if it will hold a charge now or turn out like the Zero Turn.   House cleaning day today. And then I'm going to just relax outside for a bit and enjoy one more warm day before our temps drop and rain comes in for the weekend.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given!!

Striking your head against the wall, you can lose 150 calories an hour. Blue color attracts mosquitoes in two times more than any other. Most toilet paper sold for home use in France is pink. In 2014, a missing woman on a vacation in Iceland was found when it was discovered that she was in the search party looking for herself. In 2005, Mark Zuckerberg unsuccessfully tried to sell Facebook for $75 million. Back then it was called TheFacebook. Strawberries can also be white or yellow, and some can even taste like pineapples! The Boston Marathon didn’t allow female runners until 1972. Banks have therapists known as ‘wealth psychologist’ who help ultra-rich clients, who are unable to mentally cope with their immense wealth.

I attend a medical day-centre in Texas for needed medical services. It's religious oriented, so not gender fluid friendly. I of course dress 100% in female attire yet androgynous to keep both "them happy", and I really don't mind.    I of course am imposed rules that no other participant is bound by. The examples are the allowed size of my backpack, or how many visits per day I can see my Representative payee.  The gender neutral restroom use was a compromise that all off us have agreed to.  Not being able to wear tanks tops or shorts that aren't "Bermuda length" are other examples of where I am restricted more than any other participant. "Bra talk" is strictly forbidden, even though their doctor and occupational therapist were the ones that told me I needed support due to neck pain.    I found myself being reprimanded by staff three times yesterday for very petty details, and they have constantly pushed for me to remove myself from the program voluntarily. I am of course someone not welcomed in the program, but federal discrimination laws prevent them from removing me. They instead are just making life miserable with the hopes that I will leave on my own.

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.

For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.
