Weight gain?

Did you gain weight when you started HRT? And, if so, how much?

It's trivial, I know, but I have a postage-stamp-sized chunk of cellulite underneath the crease of each of my buttocks that just won't disappear regardless of how many squats I do...And gaining weight may exacerbate this problem.

But seriously: I don't want to gain weight, but I can deal with it if necessary. Is it possible to do HRT without weight gain?

i can only speak for myself i used to eat alot i mean alot of food and didnt really gain weight maybe a little and i have noticed now that since ive been on hrt i dont eat that same amount i used to but its weird because i think i have lost weight due to muscal loss im not 100 sure about it it might be all in my head but i do see muscal missing i think it depends on how your body burns weight but that is my opinion and plus because i had good matabalisim i had problem with pill form of estrogen (note also i was smoking alot of pot)for my tetosterone being to high

Well your approach to weight depends on how much you weigh now. If you're super skinny with no body fat your have to gain weight so the body has something to work with. Women are curvy because of body fat, think about that. If you're of average weight, you should probably expect to gain a few pounds. The best thing you can do to help control weight is two-fold: Portion control and increased activity. I'm big on portion control, not so much on activity :) Last, if you're already obese, estrogen will make losing weight more difficult.

I was a very thin muscular male and I knew that wasn't going to work when I went on E. I knew I would have to do 2 things if I wanted a decent body. The first was gain some weight, maybe not weight as in the traditional increase in the pounds, but in fat. The secnd thing was I was going to have to lose it. Once I get it in the right spots, my breasts and hips, Ill have to lose the blubber everywhere else.

Not the easiest of tasks.

I started hormones at 5'6" and 150. My last weigh in was about 162 with jeans. This time it will be even more, but I have already changed the way I eat and gone back to exercise. 3 mths and I'll be back to 145-150. :fingerscrossed:

Best of luck.

I plan to be 20 pounds below where I want to be when I start HRT. Which will be mostly in low far, the main reason being that I'd like to be able to have the cushion incase I have trouble controlling what I'm eating, in addition it could be easily a stressful time so trying to maintain the usually strict diet I hold now would make things harder.

I also want to still work out fairly heavily on through it, I'd like to keep what muscle that I can.

I dont know but I am skinny person to begin with... Before (before HRT) since I am underweight I took an appetite booster (which has a little steroid in it) to gain weight and luckily I did gained weight and reach my expected weight. But since I started HRT, I stop using this appetite booster. Now I am going back to my old body... Everyone can notice that I am losing weight which is bad in my case because i am going down to underweight again... So now I am worried if sooner HRT would make me gain weight and make me back to normal weight... (I hope)

Can somebody tell me how much time would it take before the fat distribution gonna take effect? Its like I am on HRT for 5 months and I dont know if this changes should already happening this period of time? (fat distribution)

another question that might be off topic, my doc said it is ok if I would take any vitamins while in HRT. But do you think its ok to take again my appetite booster even if it has a little steroid content in it? My next appointment would be next year... Please share your insight girls

I’m a lefty. Learned to be a bit ambidextrous for certain tools that assume right handedness like scissors, but couldn’t write with my right hand to save my life.

Tangent, adjacent, opposite...  It's still rock n' roll to me.  I don't know about the "in god we trust" part of the money, but I like the lady with the scale.  And then I look left at the Indian statue on my mantel of Guanyin feeding a drop of liquid to the dragon at her feet.  In god we trust?  The lady with the scale?  Maybe this is too binary.  And then on the other side of Guanyin is that kind of pelican wood bird that sits two feet tall that I hauled back from South America through the Panama canal.  The beak broke in 1998 and I carefully saved the pieces (as I usually do) and attached them back about a decade ago.  I used a drill to make a small hole and then put a finish nail in there.  Then a hole on those two pieces that needed to be attached.  Upper and Lower beak.  There is still a seam showing.  I could cover that up, but the beak is a bright yellow and well, it's better with all the pieces in place and I don't mind seeing the crack.  I guess that is the tangent and the other two are the opposite and adjacent. -money  Why don't coders always code the "-" action in their search fields?  It's not that difficult!

Definitely points to learn and keep in mind.  A bunch of stuff I had put in mental "cold storage" thawed out a bit there and ready again to run through my mill.  As said, a bit long and as usual from her a tad bit challenging.  Overall I see it and can use it as a working hypothesis.

Yeah.  I like Nebula, that was where I watched it.   I posted the YouTube cause I figured more people could see it.

We agree on most of this... and the church/state thing is kind of a tangent anyways. Oops. LOL   I think it has long been established that all different kinds of groups have access to public funds. In my opinion, either everybody has access or nobody does. I would prefer "nobody."   Relying on public funds gives the government the power to take it away, and puts that power in the hands of whatever group controls the government at the moment... the news article that is the topic of this thread shows a clear example of that happening.  Organizations trust government at their peril.

More info on Abigail Thorne here: https://go.nebula.tv/philosophytube and, Dracula's ex-girlfriend, on Philosophy tube.   "The reason why Nebula is so cheap for what it is, is because there's no upper hierarchical group looking yo skim off the top. Imagine how much cheaper EVERYTHING could be if it was like that for every other service or product; if the money went straight to workers, not up a chain of command until it reached someone who did exactly "jack" to produce what's being sold.

I'm aware that the young US ended up fighting a war with these people, and that phrase was not meant to address Church & state.  But somebody was willing to include it at the time.   I am also aware that your family arrangements would not go over well with most christian nationalists.  But that is kinda where I'm coming from on this.  I believe you and others of us with an unconventional lifestyle should be free to live as we desire - as long as we are not hurting anyone else.  And by "hurting" I don't mean only their feelings.   Using christianity to justify oppression is just wrong.  As is forced conversion, or forced conversion therapy.   Regarding public funds, LGBTQetc people have as much right to them as straight-cis folks.  I'm not arguing that queer people have more rights, just equal rights.

Even better news:  It turns out for my sister it was cardio not stroke. She’s put on new blood thinner and sent home. False alarm! Yay.
