I had to use a magnifying glass, Elena, but even at 3X normal magnification, you look great! I think you've got some girl genes working in that bod, hon, because you have a natural beauty that's got nothing to do with HRT.

Oh, and I'm insanely envious of your hair. :D

Thanks y'all.

Ya know, I keep looking at pics and in the mirror and trying to figure out what exactly is different. It's dang near impossible to pin down. Each detail, each feature is virtually identical on close inspection, yet as a whole the difference is rather blatant. It's maddening really. I know I've been resigned to seeing the same image for over 30 years so it's harder for me to see. It would be nice to be able to point to something specific and say, "See that's changed, that makes the difference. That right there shows progress." The differennce is so dang ephermal and subtle though. Ohh well, there is definately a huge difference in how people react to me and I guess I have to be satisfied with that.

Luv y'all.

Beautiful.

Before FT people would tell me I looked different all the time. Nothing I could put a finger on, just different.

E and you are a good combo. :)

I understand what you mean Elena. Others see the changes in me more than I do. It's very hard to break that male image in the mirror, and only when I wear makeup do I notice the woman.

It's hard to see your pic but you do look like a total woman to me.

Elena,

Great pic girl, you are truly blessed. You have good genetics and have taken to E very well.

You know, I look in the mirror everyday most times more than once. It is impossible to see the gradual changes that take place due to HRT, laser, electro. I looked at a photo from Dec 14, 2010 and compared it to one taken Dec 3 of this year. I gasp, is that really me.

Let me give you a short anecdote:

Yesterday, I got a little cleaned up, I needed to go to Walmart for a few things. So, washed and , ugh, shaved. After brushing my hair out and putting in some earrings I headed out wearing jeans, a tee and a zip-up hoodie and carrying my denim purse. Mind you now, I wasn't wearing any make-up.

The cashier said, I can help you right here ma'am while looking right at me. I went over and after ringing me up she said, "thats $3.75 baby girl." What?!

What in the world! I wasn't even trying and I got that! I thought for sure I'd just be treated like a guy. I'm still walikng on air, filled with wonder and excitement.

E, the wonder pill! I've been on HRT for 15 months........

And you're there after 2 months! Elena, you rock, girl!

Thank you ladies!

Jenny I totally know what you mean about needing some makeup to see it myself, I have noticed that I am doing far less shading lately, which I guess is one way to measure progress.

Speaking of measuring progress! I'm going to hi-jack my own thread, though it is still related.

Holy smokes! My bumps have doubled in size in the last week! Owwwwsers, hurting like 10x as much too, and ohh Goddess whacking one with the trailer landing gear crank handle yesterday had me on the ground crying and laughing because it hurt so badly. My sadistic streak coming out I guess, but I was so stupidly happy that it did hurt so much. Took 20 minutes to get back to my feet. I haven't dug out the tape yet, gotta do that soon.

Now that is what I call service!  Congratulations on your HRT and on having such good patient care.

I agree with you, and I consider myself lucky to have a realistic understanding that I’m never going to have my dream body. I take comfort in the fact that women come in all shapes and sizes. I compare myself to the women in my family at the age I am now, and see that resemblance. It may be easier to transition into an Auntie or Grandmotherly figure once you reach a certain age.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I’m happy that I’m moving closer to @Betty K although I don’t have a problem getting my point across when defending our LGBTQIA community.

Once I start mowing the lawn I’ll be listening to Outlaw Country on SIRUS XM on my noise canceling headphones. I often wonder if drowning out the motor noise and replacing it with your favorite tunes is really protecting your ears? Rock on with new song writers that aren’t a part of the Big Corporate Music Grinder.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

@Heather Shay, you know me, I am a total crybaby. My emotions flow right through me.

Is it a thing to not want to be transgender? Absolutely. I’ve heard trans folk say many times that they wished they were born cis. I find it heartbreaking and I’m hugely relieved I don’t feel that way, but I know some people do.   You don’t need body dysphoria to be trans. You don’t need any dysphoria. You just need to feel a mismatch between your gender identity and your sex assigned at birth. Of course, whether or not you should transition is a different question, but some people do so without body dysphoria. In my case, my dysphoria is mainly social, though I do feel some body dysphoria.   British writer Paris Rees said that maybe if society weren’t so transphobic she wouldn’t have felt the need to transition. I wonder about that sometimes too, but I find it impossible to know.   Can I make one suggestion w/r/t therapists? I agree with Vicky’s suggestion, but I hope you will avoid anyone claiming to practise “exploratory therapy”, and if you start feeling that a therapist is trying to “cure” you of your gender that you will find someone else. The affirmative model of care, contrary to what some anti-trans campaigners would have you believe, simply means that the clinician takes your own view of your gender seriously. This is crucial, imo, if you are to discover your own identity. No-one can know if you are trans but you, but it sure helps to have someone knowledgeable to discuss it with.

Good morning everyone,    Parker has been walked, fed and watered. He’s now checking to make sure the backyard doesn’t have any squirrels in it. The largest squirrel is on an overhanging branch chirping at him. The other sounds of the neighborhood include a far off in the distance interstate highway, that is drowned out by bird songs claiming the feeders are full. We still don’t have any cicadas in our area yet. The coffee pot is finishing up so I’ll be scrolling through the threads with thumb swipes, and not replying until I drink the first cup. Today is the pick of the week according to the local weather person. So I’ll be mowing the lawn once the morning dew has lifted.    I hope you have a wonderful day.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

You might need adjustment. I think fatigue might be something you discuss with your endo or doctor or NP.
