Suzanne's Therapy Session.

I went in to day to truthfully not talk about my gender issues but they came out anyway (funny how that happens). I told her about this site and how I've found people who I can talk to who are going thru the same things I am. She asked if I used a male or female name. I said female. She asked what it was . I told her Suzanne . She asked why that name. I told her I always liked it as it is feminine and pretty. I told her things I never said to another human being like how I looked at women with a mixture of fear,desire and envy and my first time I was ever caught dressing when I was 12 and how much of a nightmare that was. I also told her the time after I was caught when I was 19 or so. It felt great to get all that out. She asked me if I thought about hormones. I told her it was something I had thought about . She asked me if I knew what they did. I told her I did and went thru the whole list of the effects . I was reluctant to get too deep into the subject but it felt good to talk in depth about it.

Thats fantastic. I'm really glad for you that you were able to talk about those things. Its not always easy, but its good to have someone that you can talk to that you don't have to worry about saying things like this to.

I like that she asked you about your name.

Last weekend I spoke to my sister and she was the first person who ever asked me what my female name was. One of my friends asked me if I would prefer that he use it, but she was the first person to ask just out of an honest desire to know. Its such a small thing, but it feels good.

Anyway, it sounds like you are on the path now. Wherever it leads you, at least you have started. Congrats!
