This mornings endo appointment

I had an appointment with my endocrinologist this morning. It was a bit stressful because there was a medical student or endo trainee of some sort there with her. I always thought they needed my permission before bringing in a third party, but whatever.

Anyway...my levels are still not in the female range...low male though. So my estradiol and spiro have both been upped yet again. I'm really hoping this change does the trick, because she says I'm now at the highest dosage she will typically prescribe. She seemed surprised that she had to go this high for me.

Thankfully though, all my other tests are good, no concerns at all.

Best part was, while she was explaining things to the student, she referred to me as "her" and the student asked my permission to call me by the feminized version of my given name. It's not the name I will choose for myself, but for now it works for me ^_^

Today was the first time I've been referred to with proper pronouns by anyone in my hearing (not counting online, of course). It felt GOOOOD.

Shilo,

I am glad things went well and that the increase in dosage will bring the changes you want. Ms. Shy, I can see your smile all the way here :)

Yeah....that DOES feel good, doesn't it?

I hope that this dosage does the trick!

Shilo!

Hey, don't be down about the results (if you are)...Starting out my T level was considered high on the male average range. 6 months in it had barely budged...I too am now on the highest dosage of medications to include Estradiol, Spiro, and Finasteride and am seeing dramatic results. Keep your chin up and don't be discouraged a single bit!

Its always reaffirming to be addressed properly, you know people are seeing you for who you are and that's something we value as individuals...so many people take that for granted. Best of luck going forward from this day though, I'm no fortune teller but I certainly expect to hear nothing but great news. I was posting on facebook earlier I had lost over 40 pounds since starting out in transition (even with putting on weight in 'other' areas lol), when you feel good about who you are, your body responds in the best ways!

Sorry they are having to up the HRT and all-but so happy for you on the name and pronouns. It DOES feel good.

And it's only the beginning too.

Know that feeling. The first time someone directly addressed me as Sir I turned around to see who was behind me.

And I still smile when I hear it and wonder what people think that it does make me smile too.

I hope this dosage does the trick and I am so happy that your doctor referred to you as her. It is such a good feeling when you start hearing people call you by your true pronoun.

Way to go girl!

That's great, Shilo. I wouldn't be too concerned about the results, sometimes it just takes time to get things right. As long as you're making progress, that's what counts.

I know just how you feel about the pronouns. You'll get used to it eventually, but I guarantee you, you'll never get tired of hearing it.

I’m a lefty. Learned to be a bit ambidextrous for certain tools that assume right handedness like scissors, but couldn’t write with my right hand to save my life.

Tangent, adjacent, opposite...  It's still rock n' roll to me.  I don't know about the "in god we trust" part of the money, but I like the lady with the scale.  And then I look left at the Indian statue on my mantel of Guanyin feeding a drop of liquid to the dragon at her feet.  In god we trust?  The lady with the scale?  Maybe this is too binary.  And then on the other side of Guanyin is that kind of pelican wood bird that sits two feet tall that I hauled back from South America through the Panama canal.  The beak broke in 1998 and I carefully saved the pieces (as I usually do) and attached them back about a decade ago.  I used a drill to make a small hole and then put a finish nail in there.  Then a hole on those two pieces that needed to be attached.  Upper and Lower beak.  There is still a seam showing.  I could cover that up, but the beak is a bright yellow and well, it's better with all the pieces in place and I don't mind seeing the crack.  I guess that is the tangent and the other two are the opposite and adjacent. -money  Why don't coders always code the "-" action in their search fields?  It's not that difficult!

@April Marie Yes, it's something to shop for at least for 6-8 weeks.

Definitely points to learn and keep in mind.  A bunch of stuff I had put in mental "cold storage" thawed out a bit there and ready again to run through my mill.  As said, a bit long and as usual from her a tad bit challenging.  Overall I see it and can use it as a working hypothesis.

Yeah.  I like Nebula, that was where I watched it.   I posted the YouTube cause I figured more people could see it.

We agree on most of this... and the church/state thing is kind of a tangent anyways. Oops. LOL   I think it has long been established that all different kinds of groups have access to public funds. In my opinion, either everybody has access or nobody does. I would prefer "nobody."   Relying on public funds gives the government the power to take it away, and puts that power in the hands of whatever group controls the government at the moment... the news article that is the topic of this thread shows a clear example of that happening.  Organizations trust government at their peril.

More info on Abigail Thorne here: https://go.nebula.tv/philosophytube and, Dracula's ex-girlfriend, on Philosophy tube.   "The reason why Nebula is so cheap for what it is, is because there's no upper hierarchical group looking yo skim off the top. Imagine how much cheaper EVERYTHING could be if it was like that for every other service or product; if the money went straight to workers, not up a chain of command until it reached someone who did exactly "jack" to produce what's being sold.

I'm aware that the young US ended up fighting a war with these people, and that phrase was not meant to address Church & state.  But somebody was willing to include it at the time.   I am also aware that your family arrangements would not go over well with most christian nationalists.  But that is kinda where I'm coming from on this.  I believe you and others of us with an unconventional lifestyle should be free to live as we desire - as long as we are not hurting anyone else.  And by "hurting" I don't mean only their feelings.   Using christianity to justify oppression is just wrong.  As is forced conversion, or forced conversion therapy.   Regarding public funds, LGBTQetc people have as much right to them as straight-cis folks.  I'm not arguing that queer people have more rights, just equal rights.

Even better news:  It turns out for my sister it was cardio not stroke. She’s put on new blood thinner and sent home. False alarm! Yay.
