I have been looking for biography of the life after going through the full conversion and am having a hard time finding any information, Can anyone help?

Most of the information I have found is right after someone has surgery.

Please if any body has any idea where I can look please let me know?

Thanks

Laura

Hi, I am not certain what you seek, the biography of a M/F life story? Or the biography of trans life post op? I been here for only four days now so I am still feeling my way around this board.

I am a full time M/F TS, 9 years and 4 years post opp. I have noticed that in other groups many of the girls don't come back or just stay away because of pride after SRS. Some find themselves like their lives is in a vacuum and find it difficult to move forward with their lives but will not come back to the boards.

I never had that problem I loved every step of my journey and after SRS I just continued being active in the community just as I did before. I moved to a different city half way around the continent of Canada and I am still active in the community here in Vancouver.

Now some call it stealth, or what ever one may want to call it, but no one know anything about my prior life and I pass very well. I was away from these groups for a few years and decided to come back and see what I could do to share my experiences which hopefully will be helpful for the beginners or the younger folks, children included, if I it is allowed to. Have a wonderful day. If what I have shared is not what you seek then just ignore this post and move on with your project.

Hi Laura, you might want to look at the book, "She's Not There" by Jennifer Finney Boylan. I am not a reader of TS literature myself but I have heard that this book is biographical in nature. You might also see about finding a copy of Canary Conn's book. It is the story of her transition that happened in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Hope this helps.

What is like trying to keep a job or get a job. I am interested knowing what it like post op. I am planning on changing my life but it effects many people. I am not sure if I have in me. Can you tell your experience?

Hi Laurah hon, of course I can tell you about my experiences but let us do a short review. First remember no two TS-girls will have quite the same experience. Are you preparing for SRS? Then may I make a few more small points about Why many post op TS girls don't come back is not just because of pride and not just unwilling to admit they are hurting and need help in some way or another. This hurting can be from different living pains. Problems adjusting, isolating, inability to make friends, problems with family, boy friends, girl friends, etc. Difficulties at work, or difficulties finding a job, resulting in money problems. Yea some of the problems before SRS may not change all that much after SRS unless dealt with before SRS. This is why it is also important that you learn to adjust to the circumstances and work on resolving possible problems beforehand. Be prepared and conditioned to live in the preferred gender, female in this case. Some actually make the error and neglect or wait for the last moment to prepare for this and as a result they are at a loss or in the dark as to how to live like a woman.

There is a lot more to becoming a woman then just looking good in the physical body, evolving physically as a passable woman is wonderful and will be a great asset to your credibility. But evolving within, the inner self is also very important. This growth is psychological and spiritual in nature and in this respect we have only begun the journey into womanhood. This learning and growing will continue for the rest of our lives. I am all together 9 years full time and 4 years post op and I am still discovering and learning different facets about my inner self. A GG on the other hand has gown up to be who she is for her entire life, but she to will still undergo growth within. It's much like preparing for a new job, it wise to learn what all are the different aspects and responsibilities of your job are going to be before just jumping in blind. Do you know what being a woman is and living like a woman is like? The feeling thoughts and how she perceives the environment and other people around her ? Any great difference between a woman and a man on the outside may be subtle because I believe the greater differences would be inwardly to a greater degree. Now these ideas are only samples not hard scientific fact. But it's not really as big a deal as it may seem. Just let Instinct and intuition guide you, estrogen will stimulate and awaken those two skills to a fair degree.

I do know some post op TS girls that have moved on with their lives and have done well for them selves and have even settled down with either male or female partners. But unfortunately I have seen some end up alone and very lonely mostly because of fear of changing their circumstances for what ever their reason. That is something else about post ops they are quite close lipped about what is going on in their lives, if they even come to the board to say something. I will be back tomorrow and we can discuss more about after post op. Tomorrow is my day off so I will be here to check the boards.

Sorry for getting back to you so late.

Love

Kia Ora Laurah,

 Surgery is not the magic bullet and as Cindy has mentioned before, if one is not finding life easy living fully time as a pre op…being post op is not going to be any different…

It’s good to be inspired by the successful lives of others, but the best way to judge whether or not to affirm your gender ‘surgically’ is not by reading about others, but to live the role first yourself [The Real life experience] and if all is ‘hunky dory’ that is, you find real comfort and contentment in being what you perceive as the real you-day in day out 24/7 etc etc… then go for it …

The ‘op’ will give you legal status and ‘only’ legal status… Remember what is[or is not] in between ones legs will not have any impact on society attitude towards them-unless one live in a nudist colony that is! :D

A successful ‘RTE’ is the only measure an individual can take to find out if surgery will be right for them and the longer the RLE the better!!!

I think Cindy has summed it up quite well in her post…

I too have been absorbed into maiin stream society ie 'stealth' and had done so long before I had surgery...Out of interest, I joined Laura's playground and it is the only forum that I'm a member of...I have no needs or wants[a part from annoying some with my posts] I'm happy and content with my life... being a member is a way for me to be involved with the lives of others who are just venturing out on their journey....

I study full time, work part time and do volunteer work...There's not much work on the beautiful island that I call home...

My advice to you is...Live it, breathe it, feel it, love it and if life still pleases you...then remove 'it' and not before!

Good luck!

Metta Jendar :)

Sup singly, a superintendent prevented a student within the transgender community from changing current name, to the new name in which the student identifies with, I don't know how far back this story goes, but if you Google it under Oklahoma along with "student name change" the article should pop up. I'm not transgender, but I can relate to the process of legally getting a name change done, it's a lot of paperwork from court, a lot of traveling, and expenses depending on the laws from each state.

No one seemed to pay attention to me other than a young woman who complimented me on my skirt and an older gentleman who smiled at me as we passed each other.

Wow, I guess it’s the dat to be in trouble.  I’ve been hit twice by the ASM today and it’s my day off.  Why didn’t you, followed latter with a where is the.  Made me realize that I do t want to continue working long enough to pay for it. I guess I’ll just to have to stick with my 20 year old car for now.   I suppose sooner or later only one of us won’t be able to drive anymore.  Since I am older you might think it would be me but at this time i am the one that does all the driving except when she goes to church or the store when I’m at work.  She hasn’t driven anywhere since February and hasn’t driven more than 10 miles in perhaps a year.  Yet the “good” car was purchased for her not for me because she couldn’t drive the Jeep which we bought strictly for her because she wanted it.  But it turned out I was the one that really liked it.  Can’t win.

Good morning :)   I have coffee today, but the cup keeps leaking (I guess the cap isn't able to fully seal or something), so I keep having to wipe up the sides lol   Almost finished all my missing work for school, which means if I do a bit more work, I should be out of trouble with my parents (not even that bad of trouble compared to when I was younger, more just an annoyance haha)

Sending good thoughts for you, Raine.

Good morning 😘   Finished packing up my kitchen and pantry for fumigation today. I also modified my backpack to make it day-centre compliant.  I was able to get almost 2 hrs sleep last night, so I'll survive. 😑

I'll be going to some Pride events as a spectator.  Maybe marching in a parade if they have open participation.    The event we'd prefer to go to is held in a small town with a population of less than 600.  They have a parade through all three blocks of their downtown area.  Unfortunately, this year it is on the same day as a memorial service for a friend who passed away this winter, so we'll have to miss it.  So our second choice is a larger town, population about 9000, a bit farther away.    And we are keeping our eyes open for other events in the general area as they are announced.   I dress a bit flashier than normal, with some trans bling, such as rainbow or trans flag earrings, a trans symbol pendant, and a handheld trans flag to wave.  Political sentiment is turning against us, but public sentiment here is still strongly on our side, so getting out and showing the flag, both literally and figuratively, is important.
