Fun day, good times! Actually, today Cindy, Megan, Megan's soulmate and myself head up to downtown Seattle for a bit of shopping. A fav little store of ours was having a sale that we didn't want to miss. Megan now has another pair of Heels for Mount Footwear (me thinks it's some secret personal project of hers), Cindy got some skirts (I think... she was done and outta there long before me) and I got the cutest little leatherish skirt.

We followed that up with a stop for lunch at this small but awesome cafe that the staff at the clothing store keep telling us about when we go there. They were right! The place was incredible!

After lunch we headed down toward the waterfront. We had a bit of shopping to do at the Market (Pike Place Market). I strolled around and didn't cause too much commotion. I was in boots, skirt and a sweater. But I clock in @ 6'2" with shoulders that would rather reside on some kind of NFL player. Oh well... passing isn't going to be an issue. Due to my frame I think there's little doubt in anybody's head as to what I am. I do give it my best shot as far as makeup, outfit and try to not walk like a Neanderthal. Most people accept me for who I am.

One of the things I really wanted to get was a small purse. I haven't a lockable place for purses and such at work and don't really see any reason to demand such accomodations. So I found a small leather purse that has a strap and it actually has loops to put a belt through it on the back. It's small, about 6"x 6" with 4 zippered sections to it. And a cool Mexican messenger bag. It's made out of the same heavy material as ponchos. Shades and stripes of blues with a colorful strap that's long enough to wear cross body for this year's Pride Festivals I'm planning on attending.

Oh, and we have a Doc Marten's store here in Seattle about 2 blocks from the Pike Place Market. Finally got those boots I've been craving. They tend to present a "Don't mess with me, Just leave me alone" attitude when you wear a pair of Doc's boots with a skirt.

And with my now going fulltime at work next month, the requirement for safety footwear won't go away. My black Redwing combat-ish boots are ok with jeans but they just don't look as good with a skirt.

Caitlin,

I know how you feel about shopping. So glad you, Cindy, Meg and Meg's soulmate all had a great time. I know if I was there, you all would have handed me the shopping bags to hold while you went to look at yet another purchase!

Those Doc's look smashing darling and are soooo Seattle. You looked great yesterday, and we had a blast walking the market, it's a great people kind of watching place, and yes you do get noticed  The sun was out and it was like 60 degrees (off shore winds a blowin'), in early Feb, was just killer and hint of spring in the air.

At the 2 Blondes sale, I ended up getting 4 skirts (1 jean, 3 patterned) and a floral print top for about 18 bucks, all quality stuff. This store rocks and it is so friendly. Changing rooms are no problem here folks, and sales ladies give out great compliments.

Hugs

Cindy -

What a grand day (Sorry Lizzie I know that's your word but sometimes it just demands to be used :))

I can just picture you all shopping and lunching together. With a touch of envy I admit. Not so much for the shopping as for the stroll and the lunch and camaraderie.

Congratz as well on all those shopping scores. Sounds like you did well!

Thank you for sharing with us and allowing us to join you -even if it's only in our hearts-for your lovely day

Mount Footwear? It's a bookcase! And those heels standing atop the mountain provide such a perfect contrast to the Buddha on the next shelf! Everyone knows that books are obsolete these days - what better thing to do with a bookcase? I won't bring up the ever-growing Bra Ball in your room. Not that it rivals Ft. Bragg's yet. No, I won't say anything about it. Uh uh!

Yesterday was a day unrivaled in Seattle. We've had two non-existant summers, and this weekend's weather approaches the best of those two summers, with temps in the 60's, cloudless sky, a summery breeze. The snow-capped peaks ring the Seattle area, and they were glistening in the sun. That warm atmosphere was the backdrop for a wonderous day with our foursome enjoying so many things together.

Life is good, and some days, it's excellent. This was one of those.

Love, Megan.

Still not satisfied with my shoe selection...

Hi Lizzie,

They were there, but, the jewelry and apparel won our attractions yesterday. It's somewhat like the New Yorkers who never look up at the tall buildings - just knowing that the fish were flying nearby is enough for us - gotta love this place!

Megan,

I lived out in Seattle/Tacoma back in the early 70s. Such a beautiful place. Loved looking at Mt.Rainer as I headed for the base. Truly an awesome place and view. Never got tired of it.

I imagine that some tings have changed since I was there; hopefully all good things.

Hi Mike,

We traded places - I left Seattle in 1970, moving to the outbacks of New York, only returning 15 years later.

I wish our secret had been kept a bit better. There are too many people here now, but the beauty is unspoiled.

To top it off, Seattle is tops for an accepting culture. When we were downtown yesterday, it wasn't just a few strange people popping into town. We ARE the town!

Come on out and visit sometime!

Love, Megan

..but did you go watch the guys who throw the fish?!

Not this trip, been there done that. We did walk right past that fish vendor while on our travels through Pike's. They had some amazingly huge prawns. Those things were about 5-6" long, although they wanted $21 for a pound of them.

And Megan, I so DO NOT have a "bra ball" in my room. You KNOW I've only got a few bras. 30 DOES count as a few ya know!

I'm the same (estradiol, no blockers) and for me, after 4 years, T levels naturally *decreased*. I'm at E&T levels of a postmenopausal woman.   Astrid

Revealed: the super-rich fascist Maga lobbying group who is brain-washing the far-right policies of Trump and other Republicans.   Documents show the Conservative Partnership Institute is pushing its far-right agenda at events involving GOP members. A powerful, right-wing lobbying group is promoting a hard-right policy agenda and cementing ties between the Republican party and the far right at at least 21 events involving senators, members of Congress, and both junior and senior political aides. The documents offer previously unreported details of Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI). In 2021, the former congressman and Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows joined CPI. Both Meadows and Mitchell were at the center of Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Meadows was indicted in Georgia in August.    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/may/23/conservative-partnership-institute-republican-laws

As a side question, when you start E (I'm only doing E. no blockers), does T fight back? (Insert "Empire Strikes Back" theme music here, lol)   For awhile, things downstairs seemed very subdued. This week, not so much. Kind of like back to pre-E days. Just curious.   Did labs yesterday so that should tell me something when I get results...

Had a very nice day yesterday.  It was certainly worth the drive.   Something interesting to me.  We went out to a restaurant after the regular meeting.  After the meal we were getting ready to leave.  I had an hour and a half drive ahead of me, and had drunk a good bit of tea.  I'm kinda careful where I use a restroom, and this place was full of people.  I asked one of the other girls (who all live there) if I might get in trouble.  (They all know where I live)  She just looked at me and said "This is Asheville."   I realized how nice it is to live in a place where you are not always looking over your shoulder, wondering if something is going to happen. It was a good day.

Yeah.  A surprising number of us are veterans.  I was a little surprised myself when I realized it.

I joined as Charlie as i left Chuck (Charles) behind.  My wife suggested Charlize as i started to make the necessary legal changes.  I don't turn my head anymore when someone says Chuck.  It took time but when the name fit it became me.   Hugs,   Charlize

Good to read your post @Kylie.   March 2024 is not so long ago,  but a couple months can be such a difference.   What a relief.    Your responses to some of my posts the past couple years helped me to believe in success beyond obstacles.    And  helped me get through my own multiple bottom surgery situation.  Happy that you are officially done😊

Good morning everyone,    I hope you have a wonderful day today. I’m living the puppy life mass energy followed up with a nap. Just when I think he has this potty training down, he relieves himself in the laundry room. We’re slowly introducing him to the other dogs in the neighborhood, with good results so far.    Enjoy,    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
