About being moody.

I have read several posts about ladies getting moody while on HRT. I am just wondering how this feels and/or presents itself? Do you realise you are moody and just cant do anything about it or do you not know when you are?

How hard is it to deal with or explain away if you are still presenting male at work?

Amanda, I would answer you, but I'm just not in the mood.

p.s. I get moody sometimes, but I did before I started hormones, too. I'm not on Progesterone or shots so my mood swings are not very noticeable or frequent.

.

I get moody.......Especially when on progesterone. And I know when it's happening.

I can be short with people and on occasion, snap at people.

It's then that I cry super easy and I sometimes want to be alone......

Outside of that....nothing happens!

That was a riot, Carolyn!

From my personal experience, I, too, was moody beforehand (just ask my soon-to-be-ex-wife-turned-BFF-roommate). As for now over 2 years on HRT? Again, ask my soon-to-be-ex-wife-turned-BFF-roommate - she would EMPHATICALLY agree 150% I am even more moody than I was before. She affectionately refers to me as "D.Q." - which means "Drama Queen."

I was moody before, I just got very quiet and went off by myself.

Now I am more likely to just start crying and then get very quiet and go off by myself.

Love ya,

The moodiness pre-HRT was different. It was more like my frustrations would bubble up unexpectedly and consume me. It was very black and white..

Now, it is more of a full-spectrum moodiness with detail and subtlety to it and the paths it takes are unpredictable. Usually, a tremendous crying session puts me all togethere again and afterwards I often feel GREAT...

This moodiness is cyclical and somewhat predictable, the other moodiness was angular and sporadic. No amount of crying after a man-mood could ever make me feel much better..

I added progesterone 5 weeks ago and the moods have deepened and broadened even more. I thought I would hate the moods, but I really don't think I mind them very much. I feel more alive than ever, I feel more female than I ever imagined already. I an eager to see what years of HRT will achieve...

YMMV, bit for me, I'll take girl moody over boy moody any day! lol..

Hope this helps, Amanda..

Love, Svenna

Svenna, it does help, thank you. I havent had one of my real bad moods in the last 2 weeks so that is good but I still have had bad moods. They are usually triggered by something dysphoric. The ladies stopping talking because I walk in the room because I am a man, seeing something I want to wear or something bad happening when doing something I have to do because I am the "man" in the family. If a car breaks down I get pretty depressed for instance.

Mandy,

It really grinds on me when I am expected to react and act like a male, too. Seems no matter how many times I tell my spouse I am female, she still expects me to act like a man. It is as if she can't see that gender expectations are driving her behavior toward me. I guess thats it, she really doesn't see...

Ugh...someday this stage will be behind us...

Someday!

Svenna, I know what you mean. Had another talk with my wife and it came full circle again. Basically since I hid any transgender feelings from the whole world till recently, she either doesnt believe I ever felt that way and am just saying it now because my first therapist brainwashed me or I lied to her for the whole time we have been married. When we arent talking about it though, we are in a better relationship then we have been for years. More affectionate, loving, and spend most of any time we have available together. It is really confusing.

I think I am actually going to start a new thread about this.

Well, it is officially summer.  85 degrees outside the last two days, and GF is sick and irritable.  I have to curl up under heavy blankets in my nest, because she's got the AC turned down to the point I expect to see icicles growing on the ceiling.  This is what life is like when your partner is an arctic creature. I should be used to it by now, but just when I think its nice and warm, she has to freeze me.

I just can't resist.  Does all that mean that.............the bird is the word?

Well, that might be interesting.  At least since she's 24, its not like you're on the hook for expenses.

Been using the wok on the back deck a lot the last few months.  Just got another stock of udon noodles from Amazon and we are using those in the stir fry with onions, peppers and a spicy peanut sauce.  I did this often in the 90's too, but back then I was just using a standard Coleman camp stove instead of this high BTU wok burner.  I've had the burner for a couple years, but haven't been using it regularly until recently.

I’m a lefty. Learned to be a bit ambidextrous for certain tools that assume right handedness like scissors, but couldn’t write with my right hand to save my life.

Tangent, adjacent, opposite...  It's still rock n' roll to me.  I don't know about the "in god we trust" part of the money, but I like the lady with the scale.  And then I look left at the Indian statue on my mantel of Guanyin feeding a drop of liquid to the dragon at her feet.  In god we trust?  The lady with the scale?  Maybe this is too binary.  And then on the other side of Guanyin is that kind of pelican wood bird that sits two feet tall that I hauled back from South America through the Panama canal.  The beak broke in 1998 and I carefully saved the pieces (as I usually do) and attached them back about a decade ago.  I used a drill to make a small hole and then put a finish nail in there.  Then a hole on those two pieces that needed to be attached.  Upper and Lower beak.  There is still a seam showing.  I could cover that up, but the beak is a bright yellow and well, it's better with all the pieces in place and I don't mind seeing the crack.  I guess that is the tangent and the other two are the opposite and adjacent. -money  Why don't coders always code the "-" action in their search fields?  It's not that difficult!

Definitely points to learn and keep in mind.  A bunch of stuff I had put in mental "cold storage" thawed out a bit there and ready again to run through my mill.  As said, a bit long and as usual from her a tad bit challenging.  Overall I see it and can use it as a working hypothesis.

Yeah.  I like Nebula, that was where I watched it.   I posted the YouTube cause I figured more people could see it.

We agree on most of this... and the church/state thing is kind of a tangent anyways. Oops. LOL   I think it has long been established that all different kinds of groups have access to public funds. In my opinion, either everybody has access or nobody does. I would prefer "nobody."   Relying on public funds gives the government the power to take it away, and puts that power in the hands of whatever group controls the government at the moment... the news article that is the topic of this thread shows a clear example of that happening.  Organizations trust government at their peril.
