7 Months RLE, do I pass photos?

The first photo was a forced smile, not genuine and that is part of the reason.

i agree, the forced smile just doesn't look natural. aside from that, i think you look great.

don't feel bad though, i'm not a huge smiler either... when i smile naturally, it looks more like a smirk.

chin up, go with the flow. :)

I'll try to be honest without being harsh (but I make no guarantees).

Shortest answer: you do pass.

Short-but-not-shortest answer: I think your appearance could be best described as "girl, with some masculine traits".

Full answer:

Starting with the obvious parts, you have managed to make your body shape look both feminine and natural. At your age, this gets ~90% of the male population covered. I know it sounds blunt, but I said I'd be honest. I must say that with no HRT to provide some help, you achieved quite an impressive success on that regard.

The face has some ambiguous aspects, but overall leans towards "female" rather than anything else.

The forced smile on the left pic does look forced, so first tip: just be yourself and don't force things.

The next detail that stands out is the forehead: it looks noticeably large. The upper-frontal illumination on the picture makes it stand out quite a bit. There are many combinations of hairstyles and hair accessories that may help mitigating this.

And finally, the eyes: I don't know if you used eye-shadow, if you didn't have enough sleep, or if it's just an unfortunate effect from the room's lighting, but it makes your eyes look very small.

So, although there is some room for improvement, you already look quite good.

Maybe I should mention that voice, mannerisms, etc play a big role on passing, but if you are several months into RLE you definitely know that by now.

Hugs,

Ethain

Hmmm... well, I have to say that I think FemtoKitten's photo looks more like a girl than any of the others I have seen so far on this site! And I hope I do not offend or hurt any of the others by saying that, but after Mojave's comments I had to say it. I am not one to tell someone they look good when they don't. That being said, I think lots of girls have masculine features and people generally don't give them a 2nd thought. I think FemtoKitten is one of those people. You actually resemble my half sister, who has been female her whole life. Same nose even. Yes, some girls have bigger noses, just like some guys have smaller noses. I also think part of the reason you pass is you are not over-doing it. You are dressed the way a young girl would dress - the nails aren't too long, the clothes aren't too flashy, the makeup's not too bright. It looks natural.

Jeeze! I hope I look as good as you do one day! :) And even though you haven't started yet, I'm so jealous! Seriously.

This thread came back up agan - on first glance, and this time around, I have to ask: if you're in seven months of RLE, what do our opinions matter at all?

I'm not that far ahead of you, about 9 months. And, it doesn't matter in the least what people here think of my photos. What does matter is that I can interact with people and be accepted for who I am.

Just go do it! Be the person you are, and say "phooot" to all the naysayers.

Love, Megan

I do agree, bangs would help. (I can see them in your avatar pic, which is great.)

The second pic on the right is much more feminine, IMO (Though, this has already been noted.)

Also, I love the nails.

I am with you on this Megan. Photos aren't a great indicator anyway and, heck, after 7 months you know how well you pass far better than anyone could possibly tell you from a pic.

I thought this thread died long ago, but to my surprise I find it has gotten 12 new replies (all positive :)), and over 1000 views. Which is a bit upsetting because I place my occasional article on this site as the ones I would rather see get views, but I am happy overall.

A.) I'm a teenage girl, image matters a lot to my group. Without HRT to back me up I am especially hopeful I look passable.

B.) Working on my voice for 4 months straight, for hours a day, definitively helps with my passing.

The smile was because it is a reflex I have to having my picture taken, because for some reason people want their records to show happiness rather than the actual emotion during that time.

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.

This wouldn't even be a problem if they would just leave us alone.  It is a no-brainer.

OMG.  I'm glad it wasn't worse, and you were able to get on it quickly.  Lots of blood can be scary.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Ngl, probably Sonic the Hedgehog, the Beatles, or the Monkees. Those are the three subjects I know the most about so I could drop hours of info on them.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

Congratulations Sam,   The common saying her once someone starts HRT is: “Enjoy the ride.”   Best wishes, stay positive and motivated    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.
