When Can I pierce my ears?

Hi Girls!

So what do I do about piercing my ears? I want to soon, but it will be a while before I have hair long enough to hide them, and actually in my line of work, I will need to tie my hair back once it's long enough, anyway.

I'm not a person who would be expected to have pierced ears, either.

I am really looking forward to dangling earrings.

Another question, can I go to Claires and find a uni-sex or male stud to start with?

any help appreciated!

Thanks ladies!

Suzie

I was not "the type of person" to be expected to pierce my ears either, but a convenient excuse came up and I did it. Your piercing studs are small enough that they won't stick out of your head. Little gold orbs will look fine. After I got mine done, then I realized how many guys do piercings there, and I am up to two per ear now. "Hey! You really don't know everything about me do you!" That was how I replied when asked!! "Are you man enough to get your's done??" was another one of my responses!! Have fun and don't worry!

Yes, Claire's is a great option. They give you the option of what to wear for your starter posts. They have some simple silver testicles that are so small you would barely notice them.

I got my ears pierced first, actually. Before I started growing my hair out, before electrolysis, before anything. I think my hair was maybe around 1/2" when I got them pierced, and I work in a young, yet conservative, consulting company. No one said a word to me. If you want 'em pierced, get 'em pierced!

Really? I suspect people would notice testicle earrings. And I'm surprised at Claire's... I thought it was a family place!!

I'm just trying to figure out what it was you meant to type there!

Would that be like those testicles the uber macho guys have hanging from their trucks? That would have to hurt the earlobe after a while. I got my first set of piercings done at Claires. I just got the smallest gold studs that they had and it was fine. They were pretty hard to see.

I keep thinking of the pickup trucks around here with a bag with two tennis round thingys hanging from the bumper hitch! You can also get clear silicon earposts if you go to a piercing shop the smallest they make them is 18 gauge I think. Regardless If somebody female dogs you can always take them out. Realy, they have been common on men for 25 or 30 years now and If they don't like pierced ears, they for sure won't like the long hair pony tail or not.

Geez, the thought of some gals walking thru the mall with

testicles dangling from their ears is really, really creepy.

For some reason this topic reminds me of someone I saw yesterday in the restaurant where we ate. It was a buffet so I saw them several times. An attractive young guy at first glance. Male haircut. Male jeans and figure and plaid shirt (Plaid shirts are almost a male uniform around here.) But she was wearing a pair of very feminine earrings. She also looked so sweet and nice somehow and had this great smile so that when people looked at her all puzzled and she met their eyes everyone just smiled and moved on. People liked her.

Whether she was female, male or androgynous I really have no clue. I call her she because of those earrings. Otherwise I would automatically say he and not have even looked long enough or close enough to see the softness of expression or the smile.

There are a lot of lessons in that. About gender clues. And about how people react to them and to someone sending mixed messages. All positive too.

How powerful that single pair of earrings were!

I think people think of me as not the type of person who would go and get my ears pierced. Not a wild and crazy person. Anyways I did for my last birthday. That was my excuse and I got them from Claire's. The ones I picked are diamond zirconium studs. You have to leave them in for something like 8 months? I forget how long. So be prepared to have them in every day, choose wisely. The silver studs looked nice too.

I had about 5 comments on them the first week. That's it! You got your ears pierced! I might have had 9 people comments in a year? I just told people I've wanted to for a long time and now I'm finally doing it. You only live once. I'm in my 40s. People don't really care.

I pierced my ears myself a few years ago and did a pretty damn good job. Once I did it though the next morining was the first time I had to go out in public. So standing at the convience store I was nervous as for someone to mention I was male with both ears pierced. I stood in line for about 5 minutes until I relaized the guy in front of me actually had both his ears pierced. So all the worry I had totally left. Got to the counter and the girl complimented on the new look. In a nutshell pierced ears are no longer a monopoly of genetic women. I read somewhere a few years ago after that where men who had their ears pierced displayed a sign of royalty or something like that. The time do it is when you are ready to do it. I love my ears pierced and will never let go of it.

No lol. I like tattoos on other people but not on me. If I was to get tired of the art work tattooed on me it would be hard to remove it. They lose there color and and lose their shape overtime too. Maybe if I was younger and born cisgenered female I might have had a nice classy small one one on my lower back, very feminine. Just a thought

Who says Harvard can't dance? This drag queen Harvard student knows her subject by heart and by voice!   IMG_2557.mov

I agree. This law is impractical and impossible to evenly enforce without such ridiculous measures in place. What it will do is stigmatize the trans community in Oklahoma and nothing more but ofc, that’s the only point of it.   If I was in that state and needed a restroom, there’s no chance I’d ever step foot in the men’s restroom because of some law. I know I’m not alone in that thinking. This law won’t stand the test of time.

I asked AI to create an image of myself 30 years younger based off my avatar on another site and this was the result:     Wow! I am amazed how close it got my 30 year old face!

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.

This wouldn't even be a problem if they would just leave us alone.  It is a no-brainer.

OMG.  I'm glad it wasn't worse, and you were able to get on it quickly.  Lots of blood can be scary.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Ngl, probably Sonic the Hedgehog, the Beatles, or the Monkees. Those are the three subjects I know the most about so I could drop hours of info on them.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!
    • Ashley0616
It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

Congratulations Sam,   The common saying her once someone starts HRT is: “Enjoy the ride.”   Best wishes, stay positive and motivated    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
