Scientists Making Progress On a Cure for Baldness

This new research was reported the other day on NBC News, and sounds very promising.

http://www.sacbee.co...n-on-a-new.html

When Brian Williams introduced the subject, he said something like, "Great news for bald men and laboratory mice." He spoke those words without so much as a smirk, totally straight faced. The way it came out, had me guffawing for five dang minutes and made my stomach hurt.

I hope Jon Stewart picks up on it. It'll be a hoot.

Nice one Dee Jay :)

It's great they're on track for stopping balding but how about a non surgical means of hair restoration? Would really be nice... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for hair cloning or the Platelet rich plasma stuff. I don't have a lot of hair as is. I certainly don't want transplants.

Thanks for the heads up Carolyn :)

*hugs*

I'm all for that, as long as the stuff on your chin doesn't involve pimples.

I wish they could have cured all it over a hundred years ago. Patents would have already expired, the cure would be cheaper and any talk of it would be in history books.

From the sound of it, it's possible it could lead to an effective restoration treatment. suppress the prostaglandin uptake receptors, and the follicles go back to growing hair instead of shedding it.

One may hope.

Memories of my granfather's combover give me great pause in my contemplation of possibly going on T.

For me at 64 hair grows in all kinds of horrible places but never the top of my head. Ears, nose, even on the top of my ears. I'm fair haired so it doesn't show but its horrible. And then to be stuck with a wig.....Not fair but.....then again i got the sex wrong too. Oh well

Hugs, Charlie
