More Good News

I try to keep everything I post here optimistic and good, so I figured I'd share some more good news with you all.

First off, I am finally getting a decent STP packer. I've been obsessively tracking the package since it shipped; it's currently in New York. I can't wait

Secondly, and this comes with a bit of trouble, it seems that housing situations for summer are thought out. The little bit of bad is that my girl's parents are severely clueless as to me and my relationship with her (they think I am causing her depression, despite the fact that she has had it, it was just confirmed by her doctor that it's probably a genetic thing given her family history, and every one else including her sibling says shes gotten BETTER). But that leads to a third good thing:

Third, my girl is FINALLY getting treatment for depression. Finally. After what, at least ten years or so of "mom, dad, I feel sad all the time. I need to see someone." She started a low-dose of anti-depressants today, and scheduled an appointment with a therapist next month to see how it's all going. Hopefully the meds do their thing and she can she start feeling better (she's the sort that, when she gets sad, she gets severly depressed. So hopefully now she won't have to feel like she's dying every time she gets a C on a paper or something).

And finally, I may get promoted to a part time mangement position at work. I get interviewed for friday. Also, it looks like the store in CO is in need of framers constantly, so I should be able to transfer over no problem this summer.

Wow - you have quite a bit of good news, Theo! And very happy to hear your girl is getting the help that she needs - albeit 10 years later. Sadly, this often falls into "Not my kid. That sort of thing [depression] happens to other parent's children. It could not possibly be my child."
