A thought for Aprils Fools

Just had a thought. Its April Fools Day so I was thinking of maybe telling my family I'm trans and then saying April Fools if they freak out a lot. Thing is my family is very moody, very very unsupportive of me and well they don't take jokes well at all... So its out of the question for me. Any who its a just a thought and maybe something for someone else to try

That is a possability and yet I fear if someone discloses before they are reallty ready or in a joking manner and gets a very bad or negative result the repercussions could be emotionally devastating.

I think it could also seriously undermine the seriousness of the condition in the future.

But I understand your motivation for sharing the suggestion and for wanting to help/ It's just something I'm not sure antone really should try

Hmmm... I guess you're right. I was just thinking of it as a way to test the waters.

yeah I can see that being a problem when/if one later tries to come out "for real". >.>

It actually seems like a clever idea to me, just in case there is a bad reaction you can just be like "nevermind lol"

My friend actually used April Fool's to come out to her friends on facebook. The reactions were mostly positive, and some were just suspecting it was an April Fool's day prank. Of course when the next day arrived and she told them "Nope, not a prank, I really am trans." her friends still were supportive, which was great for her.
