Natural Feminine Abilities/talents(?)

So on Halloween at work, while "dressed up" as myself ( :D ), I apparently found out I have "legs to die for" and that I can "walk better than most of us in heels" I've never really practiced in heels, but it did come pretty dang naturally.

Did anyone else find they have something they can do that's female-related and, when they tried it for the first time, came naturally?

Well, nothing crazy awsome but I did find that I am an amazing pro when it comes to make up. Teehee I even get asked by my S/O to do hers for her (she thinks shes really bad) though being raised in an artsy enviroment helpped tons. I also have a keen ability to walk in heels, though rarely get the chance.

EXCELLENT job SnowFlake, it's unbelieveably cool when newer people bring up interesting posts from days 'of old'...Dr. M hasn't posted in...like forever...'Cmon back Doc! er...um...lets see...being able to close my eyes and hook/un-hook jewlery, bras, rear zippers. Doing/un-doing buttons on the correct :P side of a shirt. Feeling how my shoulders work in relation to my hips, head, hands, arms, waist and feet. Being able to make people laugh at me by laughing at myself for the silly little things that happen throughout the day to me, and then laughing WITH them and not getting all overly blown out of proportion about it all...somehow it just isn't THAT important to be THAT serious. It's little more than tedious when I do/did?...erm...does THAT count? Sitting down and keeping my knees together...I am NOT sure why...LOL...so please DON'T ask...Kelly Ann

I can run in platforms, on ice, in a 30 degree slope. That was one of the first times I wore them as well.

I don't particularly like high (pointy) heels though. I don't own any, and don't want any.

I'm decent at make-up. I huh, have girly-looking hair? I dunno. I have female body language...not that I had to learn it anyways. I just never unlearned it.

I feel there is credit due here -- My Mother spent ages trying to teach me to walk in heels for when she'd force me into dresses for weddings and such...and I never got it down. I was constantly tripping all over myself, a complete mess. So I'm impressed.

Make up as well. I severaly lack a fashion sense, and attempted to avoid make up at all costs most of my life -- but I was a member of the colorguard, and colorguard is full of sparkles and makeup and glittery things. Even after seven seasons and countless shows my captain and fellow guard children were still the ones putting that stuff on me, and doing my hair. Perhaps it just comes naturally to you girls, but I grew up around that sort of stuff with people chucking it at me, and I failed at it all. So, I'm impressed. Kudos ladies. =3

:) The women I know are all jealous of my legs, too. They tell me they wish they had them. Probably all the running and stuff I do. Plus I shave them and keep them looking nice.

I am a great cook, does that count? The women at my SO's office are always having me bake goodies for their office parties. I'm making Sachertorte for their party this Friday.

I can dance and move my hips better then most girls!

Great cook and I bake constantly, I used to knit - I learned it quicker than my sister, the same with sewing and I used to have great legs. I think I still do but I need to lose some weight to sse them! :D

Love ya,

I dont know if this counts but all the gg friends I have are jelous of my boobs. Espically the ones who are smaller then me. They keep begging me to tell them what my secret pills are. I personally take that as a huge compliment. :D I can also walk in heels no problem.

*hugs*

Always have been able to walk pretty decently in heels. Also am pretty good at putting on nail polish, every since a friend taught me years ago because she hurt two of her fingers and needed help putting it on and had me put it on myself to learn to put it on others. In fact some of the ladies at work are always looking to see what color I have on and complimenting me about how my nails look. Oh and I cook, sew and do cross-stitch (all of which came very easy to me). Haven't really tried much makeup yet though.

I'm a natural when it comes to applying makeup, walking in heels, walking like a girl, and I'm very fashion-savvy.

I wish I knew what 'walking like a girl' meant. I apparently did walk and run like that, I just don't know what it looks like, and if I try to look at myself, its no longer genuine.

I'm a natural when it comes to looking like a little girl (though I don't physically pass for younger than 16). Lolita fashion dresses "naturally suit me well", whatever that means.

I apparently also have legs to die for, but meh, I don't care for sexyness.

I'm being complimented constantly on my ability to pick up on feminine "poise" -- little stuff, like the way I walk, and walking in heels, and sitting down in a car, etc.... apparently, it all comes w-a-a-a-a-aay naturally for me, which isn't too surprising since I've grown up in a very feminine household. It's also kinda interesting, since I NEVER seemed to pick up on boy traits. F'er instance, even before I started transitioning, I was told I ran like a girl. I'm not really sure the difference, but anyway I'm told I run like a girl. I'll take that as a compliment, I guess (although a year ago, it was meant as an insult).

What a wonderful post, the fact that we all have such "feminine" characteristics and some things seem to come so naturally speaks volumes doesn't it?

I have been told I have some pretty amazing legs, and I have a fashion sense like no other man - LOL!!!!

I also have an incredible eye for decoration and such.

Keep 'em coming girls!

Jaime Lynn

Sort of opposite, I guess, but I thought I'd say that heels are impossible to walk in, I don't know how you girls do it. And makeup scares me. One of my friends put mascara on me once, "Don't squint your eyes closed like that!" "There's a giant stick coming towards them, what am I supposed to do?" :P

It might not be due to the feminine household. I was the first of a family of four, and have three brothers. No one taught me how to walk, run, sit etc like a girl. It just came naturally to me. Body language "as learned" is something foreign to me.

I run like a girl, I walk like a girl, I throw like a girl, I write like a doctor (with my left-hand on top!), I hold myself like a girl, I smoke like a girl, I'm shy like a girl...want more examples? lol

I dance, walk, and gesture like a girl. (sitting like a girl is not so natural tho :( )

I was also able to run up and down stairs the first time I wore heels. :)

I'm also a great cook, baker, and fashionista ;)

Great legs, I've had people ask me if they can touch them,no I'm not kidding, and I did say yes.

Have the ability to see through b.s. and can make people tell me their true feelings.

Can make people cry with happiness.

I can mother them to tears of joy and help restore their confidences when they are down and help them believe in the goodness of their fellow human beings.

Plus I'm a great cook, and a lousy carpenter.......As if that is a genetic characteristic, but Hey I'm old fashiioned......

For those who think that compassion and sensitivity are feminine traits, I've got a boat load of them.

I have been told recently that my writing style has become decidedly feminine.

I tend toward all things creative and now that I have released Sally from her prison, I like to dance and I'm not bad at it.

Exploring all kinds of new worlds,

Lady Sally Hillery

(I can't be feminine and call myself Sir Edmund Hillery now can I?)

Well now Charlie they ain't that hard to walk in but I guess you have to be motivated to want to though  .

As to the mascara I guess it would be like wearing contacts. I know when I first wore them I kept trying to look at my finger as I got close to my eye with the contact on it which made me look cross-eyed and hard to get the contact in my eye. eventually I got to where I could put them in without looking at my finger but just took time and LOTS of practice.

Lets see ive never had problems with heels (which is odd cause i have a hard time walking on a flat surface), Im decent in makeup, I have killer hair, Didnt have any trouble developing a female voice (I dont even know how i did it), My friends envy my fasion sense in fact most of the time i drag them shopping to fix their wardrobes ( again i have no sense of fassion when it comes to men). I Passed as a woman long before i was on hormones. I can also sing as a guy and a girl in the same song. I also have the "motherly instincts" or so im told.

I seem to remember the word "deplorables" being used not long ago.  Unfortunately so often appropriate.   Hugs,   Charlize

It was not that long ago that black people were banned from the University of Mississippi.  Schools were segregated and the same excuse of protecting the women (or girls) of old miss.  Times and many feeling have changed with time and federal intervention.  Unfortunately politicians love to separate and divide to gain power.     Hugs,   Charlize

I agree @Birdieto just "fit in", is what drove us to therapy. I'm not fitting in just to please someone with a closed mind. At least you know who your fair weather friends are now.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Yesterday in the lobby some of the residents were talking with me. One asked, "how come in all the TV commercials at the centre you don't appear in any of them?"   I explained that, "I'm an embarrassment to the centre and they don't know what to do with me." I get edited out!   Quite the differing options with the ladies at the table as some of them said, "that's discrimination", while others said, "they can see why."   Another lady said, "you would fair better if you cut your hair and went back to overalls, you should strive to fit in!"   Their opinions are as meaningful to me as rubbish. I did 45 years of trying to "fit in", and not doing that again. 😉

Gosh, missed Monday again.   Did you know that Producer Keith Oslen was distraught because the duo his recorded Buckingham-Nicks first album went nowhere? In walked Mick Fleetwood also distraught because once again Flleetwood Mac lost a guitarist in Bob Welsh and he was at least going studio shopping and came to Sound City in LA because he'd heard the drum sound they got there was incredible. He asked Oslen to play something recorded there. Olsen played some of Buckingham-Nicks and Fleetwood loved the sound of the guitarist and wanted Buckingham. Olsen said he comes with Nicks because Olsen managed both. Fleetwood didn't want Nicks but eventually the remaining Mac members said okay and next thing you know - the Fleetwood Mac that scored a huge following was born. Sadly right after the "Fleetwood Mac" album and before "rumours" was recorded, the band got huge headed and got rid of Oslen so they didn't have to play him a lot of music they wanted to keep. Olsen did ok after by recording Ozzy Osbourne, the Grateful Dead, Whitesnake, Pat Benatar, Heart, Santana, Saga, Foreigner, Scorpions, Journey, The Babys, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Joe Walsh, 38 Special, and Eric Burdon & the Animals, among others. BTW - Olsen was also a members in 1967 of a band called Music Machine (not the James Taylor one) that scored a huge hit with the song "Talk Talk"

Still on contentment high from Sunday.
    • Heather Shay
CONTENTMENT The relentless pursuit of happiness often overshadows the more subtle yet profound emotional state of contentment. While happiness may be a fleeting high, contentment is the gentle hum of satisfaction that resonates through the soul, offering a sustainable path to life satisfaction. Oscar Wilde's poignant observation encapsulates this truth: "True contentment is not having everything, but in being satisfied with everything you have."
