I Look The Same Dressed as A Girl

Hi, I am 16 years old, and I have been self-prescribing myself Estradiol, Premarin, Dutasteride, Cyproterone and Progesterone for over 5 months now, I look at pictures of myself before and after all that I have been through... but everybody keeps on telling me that I look exactly the same afterwards to how I did before, which is kinda depressing for me, it makes me kinda feel that my body is insensitive to estrogen and it makes me depressed that I will never pass, well, I'll let you be the judge, but quite frankly, I think that my entire transition has been a big waste of time...

Well, first let me welcome you to the Playground, hon. I think this is a place you're going to get a lot out of.

Second, are you kidding me? You look exactly the same?? No way! I see a very pretty girl in that second pic, hon. I'm serious. You've changed a lot, all for the good (feminine). Another year or two, and the changes will be even more dramatic.

Now for the "lecture." You probably already know this, but I'm going to say it anyway: DIY hormones is not cool, and is extremely dangerous. You very well could end up in a couple of years as a beautiful, permanently handicapped woman who's fighting the effects of a stroke or liver or kidney failure. It does happen, it happened to the founder of this site, and I urge you to stop. Are you being monitored by a physician, getting regular blood tests?

Stay with us, and learn as much as you can, and please rethink what you're doing self-medicating serious medicines.

HUGS

Seriously? you look nothing the same. I'm surprised you got those results at all. Seriously. Your face went from a mine field of pimples and blotches, to clean clear skin. Hair is just way better. The shape of your face, huge improvement.

Secondly. If you're going to self medicate and transition, why not just get actual medical help? You are going to need it if you ever want to be legally recognized as a woman, and an actual Doc will give you much better results. Seriously. Just get help.

They are full of it. Male, first photo - girl, second photo - end of story.

There is a phenomenon in transitioning that this might be the cause of this. People who know us best and see us all the time RARELY notice the changes. People who see us at no more than once every two weeks or a month apart, but especially only once a year or so, are amazed.

You look like 100 % girl to me . No problems there the only problem is how you are treating yourself . You want to do it under a specialist although your body has done well on the outside who knows what it has done on the inside . Pleas do it properly u have a life ahead of you and you don't want your insides not allowing you to enjoy the fullness of your life . First step and only step is to do it right

You look fine but that's a dangerous combination of hormones to be playing around with. Stroke, heart attack. thrombosis and liver disease could happen even in one as young as yourself. You should think about seeing a doctor for a proper hormone regimen.

Hey, ya know what?

You MIGHT actually get BETTER results with a properly monitored HRT regime. You have no idea what is going on with your blood serum concentrations, and that is VERY dangerous, too...

This isn't a situation where throwing everything, all at once, gets the best results, likely far from it...

A beautiful young girl like yourself deserves the best treatment medical science can provide and no less...

I hope you hear what we are saying to you. YOU are worth every precaution and safe guard...

I understand that the UK system is frustrating, but perhaps a private provider could be found? It is often difficult, but finding a safe way forward is the way to go..

Love, Svenna

I'll echo the above of seeking professional help.

If not for safety, then alone you'll get better results. But the safety is my number 1 concern.

Also, you have gorgeous skin in the second photo, absolutely gorgeous. I mean, oh my goodness gracious girl, oh wow.

Hmmm, I have not had much help in my transition, my parents were never really supportive of my gender issues, but this week I have arranged to see a gender therapist to analyse my blood results, I hope that they can give me the advice that I am looking for, I don't have any transgendered friends in real life and I have had to much go about my own way towards my transition, I really had no choice but to self-prescribe, I am hoping that after the awnsers that the therapist can give me, hopefully I will no longer need to continue going down such a dangerous path, sorry if I may seem unfamiliar as I am rather new to this site, but I thank you all for all the advice

Amy,

Hey, we are all learning about this stuff as we go, so don't sweat it too much, okay?

Soooo glad to hear that you are looking into real long-term solutions for your trans needs, though!

It takes a gender therapist and a medical doctor to get the job done effectively and safely, but you know that now..

Please let us know how it goes at your appointment. We are all living and learning here!

Love and good health, Svenna

They're both you?

Wow.

Only thing is, again, self prescription. You've alrwady been warned of the dangers but here's the thing; you're you. The only noe in the universe who knows for a fact they she's alive. Everyone else could be fakes for all you know. You don't expect it to happen to you. But it will. It always does. If it doesn't get you now, it will in the end. Good luck.

Hi hon,

Welcome to Laura's. Hon it is my responsibility to warn you of DIY. You are playing with dynamite hon. This could all blow up in your face. I am not being an alarmist. I have heart problems as a direct result of DIY.

You get really sick, or you die from DIY, is it really worth it then? You are young and I know that you think you are invincible.. Guess what? You are not.

Love.

Do It Yourself hormones are to be frowned on. They are dangerous. People literally die or are debilitated for life doing DIY.

The photos hmmm. The face looks larger than the second photo. I don't know what you looked like 5 months ago. There was probably a lot more masculine changes and growth since the first photo was taken. HRT takes a while to work. Some changes from puberty HRT cannot change.

People say you look the same? Sorry am I missing something here?

Honey, you're going to lose a lot more than your mind if you keep it up with the unprescribed hormones. You're playing with dynamite. You need to stop now.

wow you look amazing however I agree with everyone. You need a Dr to prescribe the right meds. Thats what they get paid for. And we dont want anything bad to happen to you. Plus your not losing your mind. That is a thought and a distorted one at that. No negative thinking. Gee I sound just like my therapist lol, And welcome to the site btw. Always ask anyting on here because everyone is down right the friendliest kindest most supportive group I have ever met. Plus I am sure that someone on here has gone down almost the same road as you. So see at DR dont play with the TNT as MaryEllen would say. They will get you the right dose and and the right road. Stay in touch and let us know how things go tata

Hon you are taking some redundant hormones...

Estradiol and Premarin are both conjugated estrogens.... you don't need both. Also, Dutasteride and Cyproterone are really in the same class and are redundant. Progesterone, is really not necessary at your age.

See these links:

"I look the same..." I am assuming your joking? or fishing for a compliment lol? You don't look anything like you used to look... massive changes as far as I can see. You look just like a girl now and your only 5 months in, impressive :) Your not going to have problems passing, your just not.

Firstly, Australia doesn't actually lack for gender therapists.. or endo's or gyno's who will monitor your hormones.. And heck, Medicare will even help pay for it all..

Secondly, anyone who says you haven't changed needs to get their eyes checked, pronto.. There is a world of difference between the first and second pics..

Medicare will pick up everything, GP, Therapists (I use two) and your hormones. Well, they will to their normal standards. But they pick up over 50% of all my costs.

A decided exception to the concept of Free Speech, this one shows the consequences of taking the concept off the rails.

Idaho drag performer awarded $1.1m in defamation case against far-right blogger. A blogger, Summer Bushnell, falsely claimed Eric Posey exposed himself to a crowd, including children. The Kootenai county district court jury unanimously found that Summer Bushnell defamed Eric Posey, a resident of Post Falls, Idaho, when she posted a doctored video of his performance that included a blurred spot that she claimed covered his “fully exposed genitals”, the Coeur D’Alene Press reported. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/may/26/idaho-drag-performer-defamation-case-far-right-blogger

April, Thank you for the shout out. It is difficult. Sometimes I wish I was just like everyone else (whatever that is). I haven't figured out how to present it to the kids (not sure I'm ready, or want to). I'd imagine  everyone on this forum has felt this at one time or another.

Thanks, I may start a separate thread for the hobbies etc.  My wife and I have also been creating a recipe book we are both quite proud of.

Thank You, I tried to balance the rooms decor with equal feminine, artsy, and a bit of 90's grunge/alternative influence.  Unfortunately, the camera I used didn't show the drawings well. I may decide to make a separate thread for the drawings/arts/crafts.   Hugs

@Amy Powell your aesthetic reminds me of Anna Sui. Kinda art deco meets romantic meets Bohemian meets rock n roll.   Fashion images: https://www.google.com/search?q=anna+sui+fashion&client=ms-android-google&sca_esv=87940c84487c33f0&sca_upv=1&udm=2&biw=412&bih=790&sxsrf=ADLYWIIV5j67lhM8fvT9dj5QsjqC4t8JAw%3A1716744540336&ei=XHFTZs-SFKiQwbkPyvS6kAQ&oq=anna+sui+fash&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIg1hbm5hIHN1aSBmYXNoKgIIADIFEAAYgAQyBRAAGIAEMgUQABiABDIHEAAYgAQYGDIHEAAYgAQYGEjWKlDuCliMJHACeACQAQGYAaUBoAHhD6oBBDEyLje4AQHIAQD4AQGYAgigAqkGwgIEECMYJ5gDAIgGAZIHAzQuNKAHsVA&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp

Welcome to Trans Pulse, @Amy Powell!  You've got an impressive bunch of skills and hobbies, and I'm impressed.  Please do have a look around the forums and post wherever you like.  You could even start a thread on one of your hobbies or interests if you like.  I imagine you keep yourself pretty busy with all of that.   We do have many gender fluid folks here that you'll find common cause with.  I look forward to hearing much more from you.   HUGS   Carolyn Marie

Last year I needed a new handbag.  My requirements include having many interior and exterior pockets, zippers, heavy duty hardware, and it needs to be cross-body.  Amazingly, I found exactly the right one at Macy's, and it was Guess at 50% off! I was astounded.    Carolyn Marie

When one signs up to and posts onto an online space, it's usually to the agreement of a set of terms and conditions. Basically, you're already signing yourself off to these rules, so you can't get upset if you did legitimately break the space's rules and got your post deleted/hidden/etc. Whether people abuse their power in being admins in some spaces and stretch the rules to seem like something is disobeying them in some way when, in reality, they just disagree with the post... well, that's another story. Freedom of Speech is only to say that the government can't restrict what you say, not ye average citizen, so online platforms completely have the right to remove or censor posts in that regard. The morality of that is pretty often under question, but it technically doesn't interfere with Freedom of Speech since online spaces are run by the public and not the government. Moderation of posts is essentially the same as if you put a whiteboard outside your house and said people could write messages on, you saw a message you found offensive that someone wrote, and then you erased it.

Don't forget TJ Maxx for purses.  I have purchased several from there.  They offer a great variety with good prices.  You can even find high-end bags at affordable prices.   @Ladypcnj purses are one of my weaknesses as well.
