Well, welcome, debo! Nice to have ya here....The first thing to do if you have a lot of questions is to read posts on this site for answers. You'll be surprised how many smart people are on this forum with all kinds of answers, support and help. Don't be afraid to ask for help, but, please be a little more specific on what you'd like to know. How to be a girl is an awful big plate for a short answer! ;)

Have fun and listen closely.....

I agree with Donna, that is a pretty loaded question. I am new to this site as well so I, like you, am learning my way around. There seem to be a lot of great people out here from the posts I have read so far so hopefully we will both find the help we need.

Good Luck

Welcome debo... just so you know you'll be seeing a lot of sarcasm, silliness and things people don't even try to classify as NORMAL BEHAVIORS ... Not that anything any of the People I met here do could be classified as Normal.

We will Help... but just be warned we'll confuse you a lot more before you start getting use to this place and start getting answers.

Answers are the easy part... Getting you to ask the RIGHT QUESTIONS of us and yourself is the hard part. As I say in chat if we don't know the answer and can't point you in the right direction to someone that does know... We'll make up an Answer Just for you ;)

um, you got to feel that you are already a girl.

that is the main criteria

if you don't want to be a girl, and your a guy...that's going to be alot of action!!!

First,

figure out if you have a clothing fetish or if you really want to be of the female gender.

Some people just need some kinky stuff to get them going...others feel like looking and acting female is their true identity.

I started out feeling as a kid that i wanted to be a girl, but mainly just fleeting thoughts here and there, nothing too serious.

I don't remember when I first dressed up, I did as a child once when I saw some magazine ads.

probably in your teenage years is when people start feeling transsexual...although I can't speak for other people.

I was seriously looking at SRS at age 18 or 19.

There was not any resource for information so I have read books, and explored the internet.

I was still a teenager when i was dressing up and began to desire to change my gender all the way.

My own feeling is I would prefer to be female, but I am realistic about what can be done, and how costly it can be.

so, in summary...are you into cross dressing or do you feel like you are in the wrong body? figure that out.

Second, if you are a cross dresser, it is fairly normal and don't do it in front of people who have a low kink threshold.

If you turn out to be transsexual, you have many options.

i turned the idea around in my mind of a sex reassigment for the last decade or so [longer, really]

so, I am thrilled with the idea of changing genders as I don't want children

I pay for this myself

I have no current career or other obligations to fulfill or any relationships.

I want to stress that although I am somewhat eccentric,

I fit the basic guidelines for gender reassignment!!

This is mentioned as I feel some people might ...just have a fantasy

I don't direct that to anyone personally...i have just read alot about people who regret having sex reassignment surgery.

so, don't take hormones or any other procedures unless you are sure you like being a girl.

I might add that men might find you attractive.

this past halloween, a man was doing something to me while i stood in line at a store.

I'm not all that bothered by being percieved as female.

This is just mentioned once again, as to inform you that people will react to you in a way you are not used to.

maybe not in a quiet way!!!

I don't take myself all that seriously, so i find people mostly amusing

but i would be aware that you can't let your guard down as much when you change from male to female.

Basically, even if you figure that you want to be a woman...

make sure you know what your in for. do alot of thinking about how your life might differ.

My mother says i'll "always be her son"...for example

the focus is on whether or not you are in a fantasy about being a woman or can you do it in real time.

I could be even more explicit, but maybe go out to some clubs and see if you can " be the passive side of a relationship"

that might be your future if you switch gender identities.

Third, the results of your treatments are many times not able to be reversed

mostly not.

at the very least, are you happy being perceived or feeling yourself as a "gentle soul"

for example...i read alot, paint...i try to play music

not much into sports

have long hair

it is quite alright that people think or feel me to be passive or having female qualities.

I think this might be a MAJOR focus of the Gender Change, or the perception by others you have changed

the psychological aspects of transition are worth looking at.

I dream of being female and would do it myself but it doesn't work that way, at all...not with any good outcome anyway.

I really would give it alot of thought,

if you already consider yourself Gay, I think that would help in the long run.

while you might not be accepted by your previous community as well as you like, it does help.

being only half way there, it has been harder for me to transition.

I think going out in public dressed female is a big step too.

I did this some years ago, as if it was a joke.

alot of people seem to do this on halloween

....

lol

i never did

but those are some rather "non-scary" chicks

looks like they just borrowed their sister's stuff

anyway, to clarify:

1. Are you a crossdresser OR do you want to be the opposite gender people and yourself have perceived you to be?

2. Can you deal with being the opposite gender with little or no serious feelings or thoughts of trauma or feelings of "this isn't quite right" in public?

3. Can you accept that treatments cannot be reversed and life will not be a "bed of roses" in your new gender identity?

to sum it up, if you think your a woman in a man's body, decide on how much this bothers you and if you are willing to LOOK at maybe

changing genders.

Probably, most people that come this far are transsexuals...but there is always a group of explorers and the undecided few.

My advice would be to figure out how much you like dressing up and being female.

I recieve alot of pleasure just thinking of being female

I only come back to this topic again and again to stress the point of making sure you can handle being a female fulltime

if not, i would just cross dress and see what happens in the future for you.

myself, i no longer get much of a thrill to dress up and only do it to relax.

Had i been given the resources, I would have reached this place maybe a decade ago.[taking Hormones]

So, probably if you are transsexual you will seek out people and places to get the answers you need!!!

blah blah

hope that is some help :P

Thanks Davie! And don’t worry, I didn’t take it that way. It’s just such a big topic I can only hope to tackle it one bit at a time.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

USA doctors denounce Cass Report, support trans folks.  The Endocrine Society And American Academy Of Pediatrics Respond To Cass, Reject Bans. I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.
