Wednesday the court called me to pick up my Order To Show Cause(There you go, Donna Jean.) so I could take it for publication. If all goes well, on July 13 the state will officially decree that I am a California girl. I will not go crazy between now and then, I will not. I will not.

I'm getting my name change petition and associated garbage together (including the OSC) , now to figure out which courthouse to take it to. You got yours in before the big clamp down which our dear state is putting on the courts by cutting their funds way way down. Ah yes "a paper of general circulation once a week for four weeks" then two or more weeks after that is a hearing date or not a hearing, still a date though. For me its just a name on this pass. Congratulations.

Thank you everyone. Having a good place like this to blurt stuff out is good for the sanity. I am nervous about using the new "Clinically Appropriate Treatment" rule, but will place my trust in that my letter conforms to the U.S. State Department model and comes from a respected local physician.
