a lil backstory first. well i got the number of a therapist that is in my area and has seen alot of TS in the area, i'm to the point of debating if i really wanna go through with all this, well i do wanna but i'm nervous lol. so after work today i went to a chinese resturant with my freind. i got my forturne cookie and it said "You will make many life changes before setting satisfactorily." lol hmm do you think its a sign lol i just thought it was funny and thought i would share it with you.

Girl....

"you will make life changes before setting satisfactorily"

Well, you make life changes every day. Pretty strange i must agree...So, when will you "set satisfactorily"? Weird, I must admit. Musta had you thinking. Never a bad thing, thinking....

Don't open that next cookie, though......

I had a simular incident when I decided to make my start on the road of transition (saddly I am still @ the starting gate lol) I had just finnished eating @ a chinese reasturant w/ my wife & I had one that said "You won't see true happiness w/out becoming one w/ the truth". I took that as one hell of a sign as well as having almost 2 months non stop of dreams w/ me as a woman in them, but once I came to the acceptance w/ this I had become really happy really quickly & the only thing that is making me mad currently is the fact that it is taking me so Gosh darned long to get things going but I know that it will happen.

I didn't get a fortune cookie, but while still trying to decide what to do (a major concern is passing) I was having lunch with my mother (I had shoulder length hair but still had my mustashe) the waitress approached from behind me and asked, "What would you ladies like to drink?" She saw my face and appologized - I didn't mind.

A week later I had removed the facial hair and when I was sitting at another restaraunt the waitress looking right at we aske, What would you like for lunch, Ma'am?"

I took that as a sign that I could pass!

All this talk of fortune cookies reminded me of how once i decided I was TS, I decided to do a tarot drawing (when I was looking for my faith, i passed over wicca, and kept the deck). Sorry this is so long, but plz read! Anyways, heres what I drew and how I interpreted it:

before i say anything, id like to tell u that each card has a meaning that is generally used in readings, but i seem to remember that u also should use 1 wat is depicted in the pictures and 2 what immediately occurs to u wen u draw the card

the first card i drew was the 8 of swords, depicting a woman tied up, blindfolded and surrounded by swords

i was going to just draw one card, but i refused to give up after seeing something like that - i looked this card up later and it represents a situation wer u lose either way, but as u wait, ur making it even harder to move, just like me not coming out

the next 2 were the Justice and the Devil

the justice immediately made me think of trials, challenges, and the devil shows a naked woman and man bound together, so i interpreted these as many trials and difficulties relating to the transition between these two

looking these up, i found that the devil represents pleasure and ambition and the justice represents a balance between the positive and the negative

next, i drew the justice again, which at first, i wanted to get a different card, but later decided that this represents how this is not a straightforward process - two steps forward, one step back

finally, i drew the Hierophant and the Queen of Pentacles

the heirophant shows a woman raising her hand in blessing and means divine guidance and approval

the queens usually represent a person - i took it to be me - and it represents verification and results. also, she seemed much more in control than the woman in the first card

overall, the first represented my current/previous state, the next 3 represented my near future state, and the last 2 represented the eventual goal

i hope

all in all, it was one of the most successful readings ive done

oh, and also, since i kept saying i would only draw one or two more, but i was unsatisfied with wat i got, i took that to mean that perseverence would be needed much

hmm i think i've accepted me, its hard to tell. i've gotten to the point where i don't think about it till i see a girl lol. i have dreams of being a girl. does that help lol.

It was stupid of me, the cop was in front of me in a u-turn cut in a spot I know about. I was running a little late because of the slow truck, and the cop happened to be there today. It is like one of only three places for a speed trap on my commute. I usually don’t speed as I try to leave enough of a time buffer in the morning.

The worst possible scenario is 4 points on my license, which a defensive driving course will negate it. I had considered getting a lawyer, but it is probably not worth the expense.

Yeah, I was puzzling on that too…

Good luck maam 😊 I’ve experienced that they’ll lower the points , if you show up in court and pay the ticket.

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums Mealaini,   Like you I knew in my preteen years that I was meant to be a girl, but didn't have any way to bring it up in the early 1960s. It was the expanding news outlets on the telly that allowed me to understand that I may not be the only person who felt this way. Wow was my mind expanded once the internet became a reasonable research tool in the 1990s.   My grown daughter (42) is nonbinary and atheist with pagan leanings. So when I came out to her she was thrilled and wanted to dress me up and show me the world. Well I think she wanted to show me to the world. My son (45) is evangelical christian and very upset with his sister for many reasons. However he's a reluctant supporter of me as transgender. I'm out to my wife and we've been married for 48 years this June, so I'm in a very late in life transition.   The other thing that has me going down an internet rabbit hole is your location. It clearly states United Kingdom with a sub flag of Illinois. I've searched the web and can't seem to locate Illinois, UK. Am I missing something?    Best wishes,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Thank you for sharing, @Mealaini, and welcome.    I appreciate your description of IFS and your book recommendation. I have a few close friends who are very enthusiastic about IFS and my therapist is incorporating some of those elements into my therapy.    -Timi

Leg hair.  Shaving it was a surprisingly big decision.  (Not as big as the beard tho)  After I did it a few times, it's never really grown back.  Haven't shaved them in a couple of years and you'd never know it.  A daughter living with me doesn't shave hers, and she is much furrier than I ever was.     I don't exactly hate my living as a guy in the past.  TBH, I was never quite there anyway.  But I just dropped it.  I live full time fem, and it would bother me a lot to go back to being a guy.  But I don't have to appease family or an employer.

@Loreleiit always sucks getting a ticket for passing a slower vehicle. I'm guessing the police officer was some distance behind you until you performed your passing maneuver. My most costly ticket was from a similar situation, however we were heading out of town and the last straight stretch of road to pass the two slower vehicles ahead of me was still in a 35mph zone. I didn't see the officer behind me and as soon as I pulled out to pass he turned on his lights and siren. Since I was in the process of passing, I figured the next safe place to pull over was at the upcoming roadside park. He didn't accept that and wrote me up for passing two gaps, speed in excess of 15mph over, and failure to stop. He did not care to hear about any fellowship in public safety, and no professional curiosities would be honored.  I did go to court plead my case and the judge, and he did see my point of continuing to pass with the intentions of pulling over safely at the roadside park. He was very familiar with the location. This allowed him to drop the failure to stop charges, but I did have to pay the full 15mph over speeding ticket. So my lesson learned was to never pass when entering or leaving a small town or village.   Hugs, and good luck in court.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
