ok im new to this site like i was just searching around the web for help so it puled up this site so i figured id get it a try so like i dont know whats wrong with me like i feel like a girl trapped in a boys body and i have felt this way this way for ever and i just came out to my mom like last week and like im still so counfused bout all this like i guess my frist ? would be what aam i and y do i fel like this way and sometime i feel more like a boy but idk then more i feel more like a girl idk if that makes sences but idk i dont want u ppl to think im crazy but idk like if anyone can help me plz

Welcome to the site, and no one here will think that you are crazy. Most, if not all of us, have had those periods of questioning or true gender. there is a lot of self doubt because society has not decided to acknowledge us yet. We tend to be ignored and thought of as 'sick' so it makes us tend to agree - DON'T! There is nothing wrong with the feelings you are having, they are symptoms of a gender disorder (horrors - run away!) and a lot of people have them to various degrees. Your mind has formed female - nobody's fault - but your body has developed male. You feel a need to have your inner and outer selves match, just so that you can feel complete and honest. Most everyone that you will have to deal with confuse sex and gender and until they can seperate the two in their own minds they will never be able to understand.

You have come to a great site for support, information, opinions and friendships, I hope that you will let us know how things are going.

yup, sounds to me like you are a MTF transexual.

I too feel more girly some days and less the next. That (in my opinion) is normal, and I do belive that genetic girls do the same thing.

Also, no one here thinks your crazy, A large majority of us are going through / have gone through the same thing

Relax, you're not wierd, or odd, or crazy. If you were would we have a whole section dedicated to "I don't know what I am"? What you're experiencing has certainly been felt by loads of folks. I actually think its most common somewhere along the line. Sometimes people even start off "sure" then years later are having "I don't know what I am". So you're ok.

The first thing to know is you don't have to be sure today. There's no time limit/rush. You might consider gender counseling though since those folks are experts at helping someone sort it all through. If you need a starting point to find one theres a list on the main page under resources.

If thats not a possibility, you might at least consider talking to someone at an lgbt center or joining a support group. Lot of times just bein in a space that understands what it is to feel trans can help.

That being said, just talk it out, listen, relax on yourself and know that theres nothing wrong with how you feel.

You're too young to remember, but in the 60's, people like us were locked up in mental institutions. They thought we were crazy.

People are more enlightened now and see us for what we are - well, most. Family is usually more volitile in their reactions.

But....and here's the key....you're NOT alone. There are literally millions of us world wide. Approx. 1500 people get the Gender Reassignment Surgery per year world wide.

We're NOT insane - this is just how we are. What's insane is living the life of a man just because you're in a man's body.

As Laura put on the front page of this site - nearly 31% of TG's try to kill themselves. This site exists to educate those with honest questions about these issues.

You're in the right place and therapy would be a better one. You need someone that can talk to you face to face, someone that will be objective - to act as your gatekeeper, if you will - someone to help you figure out what you're feeling.

All of us have been down the road you're about to start your journey on and a lionshare of us are willing to help you with advice, or even just to listen.

We've BEEN there - and we understand what you're going through.

Believe me, the support I've gotten here as been invaluable to me. This is a place I can come and say how I really feel about being a TS and NOT be judged for it. I can brag about my accompishments or air my mistakes on the matter. We talk, we communicate, we open up, we share and together, we're stronger - both as individuals and as a team.
