Could It Be Beard Growth?

I was taking pictures for my chest surgery and decided to use the old camera to get a better look at the underside of my chin. I keep thinking I feel beard hairs coming in down there but can never get a good look. Now, I've only been on T for a month, so this could be wishful thinking on my part. Check it out!

What do you guys think? Is it real beard growth or am I up in my sleep? This was taken right after I shaved, so the timing might not be the best. I'll wait a couple of days and then take more pictures. :)

I also need to find a nice, manly moisturizer. Shaving dries my face out, big time.

You will notice some facial hair growth even after a month. I did. But it won't turn into a proper beard for a long time. I'm almost 9 months and I've been growing it out for about a month now. It's coming in, but it's very thin and patchy. Patience and time I'm afraid. Waiting is the worst part.x

I guess it just makes me happy to see something there. Half the time I am afraid that my shot went into fat and isn't working. Speaking of shots, I just did one and now my thigh muscle hurts. Not cool.

Hola! Welcome back from Thanksgiving.

Hmmm. It could be something. Like Sergei said some hair growth does occur even after only a month and even if its only scant. I got something. Dunno exactly how much yet I'm waitin to finish pics before actually lookin at em. LOL But I do love how only your brothers can appreciate the seriousness of an ultra close picture of the chin. I wish I coulda got a shot that close. I don't think mines that close. (sigh)

I think 15 year boys would understand our love of close up pics of the chin too...

Looks like you might have something there.

It's there Ains! If a lady says its there you just gotta believe her.

But why do you shave if you don't have facial hair?

April

Hope? lol To train the skin? Encourage follicles? "Getting rid of peach fuzz" is our standard reason tho :P

That and that really we're just...

15 year boys

...even though my online quiz swears I'm 16.

In the top picture it looks like a few follicles are darkening a little bit. Besides that, it looks like you have a few stray blond hairs. We should definitely wait a few days without shaving and get new pictures then. It will be easier to see if it's peach fuzz or closer to a real beard. Of course, you won't be able to grow out a full beard for a while.

Evan-

you're so right on. I almost fell off my chair laughing when I read your replies. I'm SO 16 right now. And, I every time I look in the mirror, I search for more facial hairs. It's like I'm hoping there will be more that came in since the last time I checked (like a couple of hours before). I'm 10 months on T and have almost no facial hair to speak of yet (a little over the lip and a little on the chin).

Ainsley-

yeah, that's definitely facial hair coming in. Too cool.

I think it takes a few years for it to get to the full blown amount...that's what I remember from my ...erm... unfortunate "wrong" puberty.

Glad to find that ya'll find enjoyment in it tho :D I guess it's comparable to MTFs seeing bewb growth....and even now days i always try to find signs of growths too...congratulations... :-3

It takes time Stranded but still you will notice some hair growing. Trust me "T" is potent. Jeje I started shaving like 2 months ago or so just to stimulate growth. Right now I have hair all over my body but still it takes a little time. Good luck.

Mostly I shave to get rid of peach fuzz. I have dark hair, so you can see it pretty well. Grown men don't have peach fuzz...so away it goes. Plus, it just makes you feel better...

I do have pretty significant lip hair. I'm less proud of that though because I've always had some amount of lip fuzz. The only difference is that now it feels coarse when I shave it. It didn't before.

Yeah...I'm so like a 16 year old boy. It's cool when puberty isn't wrong. This must be what it is supposed to be like. I never understood the emotion that made my sisters spend so much time in front of a mirror between the ages of 12 and say...28. It's like pride or something. I feel like "Dude! Check out what I grew!". During "first puberty" I spent the whole time being like "Why are you growing that? Wait! Stop!".

On another note...I jacked my leg hard core when I did my shot yesterday. I had to do it in my right leg, because it was the right leg's turn. The problem is that I am left handed, so things are awkward from that side. I think the needle moved around a lot. Now I have an ouchy quad and can only take Tylenol because my chest surgery is next week.

Just call me Dr. Greg House...

I use an aftershave made by Nivea that belongs to their Nivea for Men line; it's called soothing aftershave balm or something like that. You have to be careful and get the one that doesn't have any alcohol in it - sometimes it's hard to find, but my local Target usually has it in stock, so look for it there. It doesn't cool my face as much as my old aftershave did, but that's because that super cooling effect comes from the alcohol, which is also the thing that dries your skin out... this stuff feels more like a thin lotion and doesn't burn or dry my skin out - it smells okay too.

Yeah you got some growth coming in, it takes time though. I've been on T for a year and a half and i have a full beard, but I know guys who's been on alot longer than me and are pachy, so I guess alot depends on your genes. I use Aveno shaving cream it keeps my skin soft and it doesn't make my face dry. try it out. Good luck my man.

welcome back! Glad the surgury went well (-; Just give it time and beeeee patient...I'd gladly give mine but hey it took me 40+ years to be able to grow a moustache. I could pluck my cheeks and not shave there but twice a year...my chin is only slightly better...no sideboards...after 15 years or it's difficult to remove something that's been do much a part of you...but...come the first of the year...it's gone gone gone...you keep yours...it IS promising...promise. Don't shave two or three times a day...it won't help...the beard come in that is...but it might make you aquire a skin infection (-; Kelly Ann

My name is Jennifer, and used to be a part of this forum, going back to Laura's' Playground. I already know quite a few of the people here. I started transition about 15 years ago. My  gender markers are changed with Social Security and birth certificate. The reason I am returning is I believe I can help guide newer members through the pitfalls of their transitioning experience.   I lived in Arizona, and now live in Maine. And the first thing I want to emphasize is where you live can matter a lot. In Maine, I work in a hospital, and find many of my co-workers very accepting. I find the women more understanding and enjoy my journey more. Of course, this is a small sample, and your mileage may vary.    What I found as one of the most important topics when choosing a place to live. I found only one transgender doctor who understands, or is willing to monitor my HRT. But, he has stopped his regular practice and only sees some of his regular patients on Wednesday mornings. He has changed his career and teaches residents the rest of the week. He told me he wanted to teach other doctors how to work with transgender clients. This subject is woefully lacking in Medical School. I was using the transdermal patch, and we agreed to switch to estradiol valerate. He is working on more feminizing my body. I don't doubt he will be supportive when I decide to go through my surgery, hopefully next year. I will be on Medicare and they support surgery, if it is considered medically necessary.    That is enough for now, and I appreciate this site for all the help with transgender support.   Jennifer

trump only knows how to tear down and destroy. Actually doing something positive and building anything up seems to be beyond his grasp. It's such a a shame that so many people are so bent on trump's hatred and anger. Unhappy people all ☹️

We have customers real picky,I have a couple old bed sheets that I put over the seats.I order the paper floor mats that used and new car dealer use put on the floor. One customer, will complain if he sees a grease mark and knows it is not from me.

Not sure how you think that Trumps edicts will not make it through the courts. He owns them too. I can see Trump nominating Alina Habba to the Supreme Court. The Rs have already tainted the states with anti-trans legislation. Unless there is a huge blue wave in November that nobody sees coming, we will continue to be harassed. I am resigned to the fact that one day, we could be rounded up, and that is that. I would just as soon get it over with. All of the machinations about Trump breaking the law, and all of the punditry occurring in the media, is for naught. This guy has outclassed any efforts of organized crime to avoid punishment. It truly is amazing to watch how he mesmerizes members of his own party into being mindless.

Not everything Trump tries will make it through the courts.  I think Biden is blowing it big time in not trying to get trans-friendly legislation through Congress but instead he's relying on easily reversed regulations.     The DOE should be abolished. I agree. Hopefully that will happen.
    • Abigail Genevieve
Not everyone is a single issue voter.  If you are convinced Biden is destroying the country as a whole and Trump is not, you may well vote for Trump.

This should be a reminder to everybody that the president is not the legislature. Anything done by one president, can be undone by the next one. It just goes back and forth.   As for title IX, I'm against it. Not because of the protection that offers, but because I am against Federal involvement in education.  I would love to have a president and A legislature that would abolish Department of Education at the federal level. Even the states version of it is bad enough. Education is a local issue.

"Defam ation of character" means to make false statements about a person, to cause ruin to a person's reputation, which what happened to me. Your right, there is little I can do about other than visiting websites where I feel welcomed.

Yeah @Ivy pet pass doors are an open invitation for wildlife to come in.    When I had hunting dogs 20+ years ago I had a side kennel with a pet pass door so the dogs could bed down in the garage. They kept uninvited animals out while we were home. However once we went hunting the raccoons figured out they could help themselves out to a free meal and water. My wife made me put a latch on it so she didn’t have to deal with them.    Hugs   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

My kitty has a litter box, which she uses on occasion.  But she prefers to make me get up to led her out. I could install a "cat door" but I'm afraid it would be used more by the possums and raccoons.  I have had possums in the house more than once - even without one.
