Before T, not so much...

After T, fairly frequently...

I am both surprised and impressed at the quality. It makes me want to sleep more and spend less time trolling the internet.

I used to have weird, abstract dreams. Now my dreams are more like "real life". It's been pretty awesome because I've been dreaming about my ex-girlfriend, who I'm still in love with. It isn't as good as real life, but I'll take what I can get.

yes :)

lol

And Donna Jean's right actually, it is therapy. Talk therapy to say what's happening and see if it's "typical" and the truth is that on T there are many changes, a lot of them involve sex. Ones like voice, hair, bone structures don't, but certain physiological ones, interpretation ones, even habits will.

If anything I think the fellas do (or try to do ) a good job of "keeping it clean" around here because there's some stuff that ......well, that a fella starting or experiencing T might want to know about/ ask about that could be makin him a little freaked out or worry if he doesn't know better.

That does not mean "cut loose and get crazy" guys, we still have forum rules, and it might be good to consider that before its over, most of you are going to be asked to "watch your mouth" in the presence of a lady anyway whereever you are.

I've asked the same question as leo..don't see how I'd be able to survive on T :P

But despite that I never got into porn..I think part of it is that being so uncomfortable with yourself, it's hard to watch things like that

Plus with my imagination porn is kinda unnecessary

The statement was that this conversation was theraputic and I stand by that.

Testosterone levels matter with regard to a lot of things for ALL people. Thats a matter of chemical science not opinion.

Whether it or anything else in life including romance, religion, or rigidity is destructive is subjective; largely influenced by the individual.

Even the most innocuous things are destructive in sufficient amounts. Water, for example, is horribly destructive. Drink too much, you die. It can drown you...destroy buildings.

I mean, no one is saying that porn is wholesome and appropriate for the whole family, but it does serve a function in society. I mean, there are things that I am not cool with...but whatever. I think it is better to talk about stuff (in an appropriate manner). It's part of growing up.

Porn isn't the therapy. The discussion is though.

Testosterone levels DO matter, believe me. Dude...from our side of the fence, estrogen is destructive.

from our side of the fence estrogen is destructive.

Exactly, over here, estrogen is right up there with arsenic and cyanide.

And thats actually one of the primary things a doc treating an FtM is always watching -to make sure there is a cap getting put on it, that the ovaries making it will indeed shut down. Not just so that you can masculinize but so that in the larger picture you don't create a cancerous or otherwise medically dangerous environment for the FtM. Its why FtMs worry about having "too much" testosterone, it isn't the testosterone thats the danger its the threat of it being estrogen. Its part of the reason the phrase "complete hysterectomy" gets a huge exhale and sigh of severe relief.

Exactly what Stranded said is true about porn too. Whether you choose it for yourself is a personal choice as adults all of us make and are entitled to make just as much as we're entitled to choose whether to engage in sex, with whom, why, and where as long as its within the boundaries of the law, with another consenting adult, and not violating the rights of non-participants (like in indecent exposure). Sex acts are part of being grown up humans. Which ones you choose or don't choose at all are your personal rights. And to be able to discuss the topic -appropriately- is considered part of being globally healthy.

This thread is too funny! Please go on...

Ok, I had to reply, itchy fingers made me do it, honestly. :P

- Dirty Dreams: In total 2 in my whole life! In one was a male with a female having intimate fun together, but I saw it as a bystander and knew I was one of the two, but wasn't sure which one! The other I only remember the "O", no imagery, just the (female) feeling. [Don't ask me the difference between "O"s, I do know... Oh yes! ]

- Hormones: Wow, thanks Evan, you've showed me something that I have been puzzling over for aaaaaaaaaaages, ok maybe 2 years or so...

In relation to that, I found this bit also very interesting:

A man produces testosterone in about 12 different places in his body and estrogen in about 3 different places. A woman produces estrogen in about 15 different places in her body and testosterone in about 5 different places.

- Therapy: After how many years do you get a discount? Oh wait, it was writing here. Pff, I'm so glad it's free to write.

Anyway, the last remaining subject in this thread was porn... I really never liked it, I'm a sucker for erotic stories and books. As soon as there is too much description it's too much though. I like to use my Imagination.

See, now that is interesting to me. I know of several FtMs who've had what I've heard called "trans dreams", and admit to being one of them where the O was the male feeling, and like you gotta say "don't ask me to tell you verbally, but yowzy wowzy ENTIRELY other world, (and not all pleasant since it was a "first" ejaculation) yes I do know" and I always wanted to know if a MtF had that GG physical experience in sleeping.

Porn? Yeah, I watched it prior but always in "phases" and not so .....maybe better to express that I also liked the stories and literature and would have previously said "I get into them better and more often" whereas now its implicitly wanting to "get to the act" and very visually.

Of course to be fair (to both ftms and some bioguys) maybe thats because the T already has us kinda "already on the road" in the mind before we ever turn the stuff on videowise?

WOW

The topic got WILD!

I agree with Evan in the fact that the Forum needs to stay open (with sensible language and proper respect for each others opinions).

I suspect the definition of PORN is a bit different for each of us. As male it serves a need that women don't understand. for a woman it represents an evil part of society in a way men cannot understand.

Gosh - DEEP

Well, we here are all stradddling that line between genders some of the time. Like th Chinese curse, "may you live in interesting times," we here certainly have the opportunity to "experience both sides of gender" - that is if we can just stoo and look. I know I get so caught up in the mechanics, the ethics, the uncertainties and the sadness/depression associated with MY LIFE as a transsexual, I sometimes forget about looking around me.

I was surprised at what I saw - the few times I was able to stop, look and listen (sounds like a train is coming - grin).

Erotic Dreams (the original topic by the way) - wow, had them as male and amazingly have had them as female (and I am just starting transition - go figure) I don't consider personal dreams as pornography but rather as 'me" thinking about "me" and - wow - it can be erotic. We are all sexual beings, hardwired into us male or female brain pattern (again - gee - I AM opinionnated).

So porn? How did we get to that? Who cares, we did.

My attitude has changed on Porn. Amazing? Do I think it is evil? - well, really I think it is a necessary part of the male experience, and understand now why women usually hate it. When acting as a male, I could see both sides, but found many women could not see the male perspective.

Do I hate it? I av

I think I was always pretty "visual" and not so much with the stories. If I read anything like that I'd just skip to the "good part".

Hmm..."already on the road"... Yeah. You are probably right about that. It isn't like I start looking at porn because I want to "get on the road". More often that not I find that I am "on the road" and then go looking for the porn. Am I still in the realm of "staying appropriate"?

This new sex drive stuff is difficult to manage. I don't like going around objectifying women and having my eyes wander to the lady lumps...yet it seems to happen more often than I'd like to admit. It isn't like I am going to cross the line and do anything inappropriate. I'm still in control here...but the thoughts do pop up more often than they used to.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaannn...I wish I could find a girl friend, but I promised myself that I wouldn't go looking until I'd been on T for a while. I don't want to drag some unsuspecting woman into my world of "adjustment periods".

I'm not saying estrogen isn't destructive, or that taking hormones is not important. What I was trying to say was, hormones do not change whether or not porn is destructive. Yes, you do have that personal choice to view it or not, but that does not change whether or not it is destructive. It is very addictive, changes the way you view women, and can seriously damage relationships. It is not part of the "male experience". Sure, it may be common today, but our world is filled with sex, and that has no benefit for our society.

Congratulations on obtaining the male sex drive. I really mean it. You're on the next step of your journey. But just because you have that sex drive, doesn't mean that you have to resort to porn just like so many other men do. I don't take estrogen yet, so I have testosterone, too. I have that sex drive. I don't have to go to that level. You don't have to either.

happy trans birthday! I can't speak personally on the subject, but I hope hormones bring you the changes you're looking for <3

That’s super healthy, to see that something that becomes common has less effect on you and that you are able to decipher these feelings.   Sadly, this trend tends to only deaden good feelings as we tend not to let bad feelings attenuate the same way.   I have noticed less euphoria, but still feel the dysphorias that I have. Sometimes the good sneaks in and reminds me, but often time it’s just me seeing myself in the mirror and being comfortable about what I see when embracing my realized self. I may not get the same buzz I once did, but I don’t feel incongruous when looking at a more “drab” reflection.    Wishing you strength, you are amazing!

Meet him at the being good to others part of Christianity. At the heart of it, there are excellent tenets of the faith. Those that condemn are judging, Jesus would have us be selfless; stone casting and all that. Are you a good person? Are you putting good into the world? If your gender is an issue for God, let God judge. In the mortal realm, let your actions be heard.

Let’s stick to cite-able fact. Most of my posts have been directly in relation to LGBTQ+ rights as it pertains to P2025 and I have drawn direct links between people, their quotes, and their agenda. I have made reference to the cronyism that P2025 would entail as well, by gutting, not cutting, broad swathes of government and replacing it with “conservative warriors” (I can get you the direct quote, but rest assured it’s a quote). All this does is constantly force the cogs to be refitted, not their movement. To say that agencies have directly defied a President is a bit much, the EPA did what Trump told them to do at the direct harm to the environment, the department of agriculture did the same by enacting the administrations forced move to KC which decimated the USDA.      How about Betsy DeVoss for Education? Or Bannon for anything? What about the revolving Chief of Staff position that Trump couldn’t stay filled? Or the Postmaster General, who did much to make the USPS worse?   Let’s not mix politics with racism, sexism, or any other ism. Because Trump made mainly white, male, appointments—many of them not, arguably, people fit for service—or unwilling to commit to term. I can argue this because, again, he’s up for election and will do what he did before (and more of the same, his words).   Please delineate how the selected diversity appointments have negatively affected the US, other than being black, women, or queer? Representation matters and America benefits when its people are inspired and empowered.

When I first started figuring things out, I got a lot more euphoria. Every time a friend would use he/they pronouns for me, I'd get this bubbly feeling, and seeing myself look masculine made me really happy. Dysphoric state felt more normal, so I guess I noticed the pain it caused me less.   Now, it's more just that my pronouns and such things feel natural, and dysphoria is a lot stronger -- I know what's natural, so experiencing the opposite is more jarring than everything. The problem is, most of my natural experiences are from friends, and I rarely get properly gendered by strangers, much less by my family. I've found myself unable to bind in months due to aches, colds,, and not wanting to risk damage.    It partially makes me want to go back to the beginning of my journey, because at least then I got full euphoria. I'm pretty sure it'll be like this until I medically transition, or at the very least get top surgery (you know all those trans dudes online with tiny chests? Not me, unfortunately). It's a bit depressing, but at least I know that, eventually, there's a way out of this.

As for getting a button-up/formal pants suit, you can try to talk to her more -- Cis women in tuxes have worn tuxes in recent years, after all, (for example, Zendaya) so it can still be a relatively safe topic. For jumpsuits, I'd recommend going with a simple one with a blazer, if you can -- this'll make it look overall more masculine. There's a lot of good brands, but going for one without a lot of extra glitz on it will make it look less feminine under a blazer. I don't know many specific brands though since I usually just get my stuff from chain stores, sorry :<   When it comes to your hair, if you can't cut it, you can look up tutorials on fluffing it up instead. If you can pull it off, it can look a lot shorter and more androgynous instead!
