A Temporary Therapist

So I started seeing a new therapist a few weeks ago. This is the third therapist I've had: The first one tried to convince me I had ADD and should start taking the medicine HE uses for it, and the second one was from an LGBT-specific clinic, but I later found out that the clinic is "given grants to tell their patients certain things" or something.

This new therapist is not a GT, but since I'm moving 4 hours away to go to college soon, I figure it's worth it to talk to someone, educate them on trans issues, and make a friend. Plus, I'll get a nifty paper saying I went to therapy for X amount of time, haha.

She's really, really nice, even if she's clueless. She's very interested in learning about trans people so that she can better help me and any future trans patients, and it's great to get things off my chest. Even though she doesn't know a ton about trans stuff, she still manages to help me, moving the conversation along, doing what therapists are supposed to do - it's very professional, and I love it. Far better than the last two.

But, Since I'm moving, I need to find another one. Preferably a GT this time. I'm searching through Psychology Today as I type, but can anyone think of reputable GTs in/near Dayton OH?

I'm glad you found a therapist that you like, and you're comfortable with. It's too bad it's only temporary. I'm sure someone will have some good choices for that area. Have you looked at the list in Laura's resource section?

I've looked in Laura's, yeah. Didn't find anything though :/

On Psychology Today, I found two: One of them takes our insurance, one doesn't take any insurance ._.

Does anyone know anything about Dr. Carol Jaxson-Jager or Kristy Dillon?
