So last night was the first night I was able to dress up, and do my makeup and hair. (Well, sort of do my hair. lol) I uploaded some pics from my phone and a video chat with one of my best friends last night. I'm not on hormones or anything yet, butI kinda want to know if I'm going in the right direction. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips or advise toward passing, and how I can improve. Besides my eyebrows. lol I know I need to wax those. And I apologize for how dark some of the photos are. We only have one light in the living room. >.< Oh! And my hair is all frizzy and somewhat burnt from the straightener and the humid weather last week, so I know I need to fix that. haha Thanks so much for reading! ^_^

Sweety i think you looked very pretty.I couldnt tell if you were on hormones or not till i read your post.I think you have very soft features to start with.:)

I would suggest doing something about your eyebrows. That would go a long ways from drawing attention to your brow ridge.

Other than that they look good.

Hehe. Yeah, I've been wanting to get my eyebrows done for a while, but I'm too afraid to do it myself, but my friend is suppose to take me to a salon. ^_^

You have huge eyes, a feminine face shape and a great mouth. Nature has been very kind to you.

Don't thing presenting as your true gender will be a problem for you as long as the grooming-t,e, eyebrows and other facial hair-are done, And on HRT I think you are going to be gorgeous.

Thanks so much, every one! And yeah, my eyebrows are definitely a big priority. This was the first time I saw myself as the real me, and it was one of the first times in my life I felt pretty, even if it was just for a short while. :) And I'll post another pic when I get my eyebrows done. lol

If its any help, when I last had my brows done, two "manly men" were waiting in line before me to get theirs done. Neither one came out looking "girly" but I did!!

Well I work as a freelance special effects makeup artists, so I'm thinking I'll get them the way I want, and if anyone asks, I'll just say it's for a character I'm creating. It would also give me an excuse to buy those opaque contacts. XD

As a makeup artist you already have a heads start-and a great canvas to work with. I've been an amateur artist all my life-sold quite a bit of my artwork including to the state of Texas but still consider myself an amateur because I never considered making a living at it. Anyway I do have an eye and with your skills you are going to be so beautiful! Lucky lady! Please do another pic when the brows are done.

You will look great with a little trim on the brows. I removed mine from the bottom up and nobody seemed to notice until i had them where i liked them.

Tweezing can make a girl cry but also look so much better.

Hugs,

Thank you all!!! :D I'm still kind of worried I only look good in the pics because of the lighting or angle, or that it looks good on camera. :( Especially since my nose is big, especially and chin. (You can't notice it as much front on, but it's pretty apparent from the side profile.) Bleh. I think I'm just being glum tonight. >.< But you all have been really awesome! I really appreciate your help. :)

Keep ur chin up Isabella . We all have something we don't like on our faces . Focus on the gd u do have . What makes a person beautiful is not their face or hair but their heart .

Yeah, you're right. We can be our harshest critics sometimes, but beauty comes from within ourselves. (Trying my best not to make this sound like a Hallmark card. XD) And I guess I shouldn't be too critical of myself. This was really the first time I was able to do my hair, makeup and clothes. Usually I would only have enough time to do just one of those. Lol But I'm immensely grateful for all the positive replies. ^_^ You're all awesome!!

Actually I know lots of cis women with strong chins (And you should see the nose that most of one side of my female family inherits from their Native American ancestors. Heads South with age. Even as a guy I'm thankful that one missed me :D)-and as an artist you know that you can either go far to draw attention away or use it to create an exotic look which can be better and more attractive than conventional cute.

We are own own worst critics. I'm called Sir and seen as a guy close to 100% but whenI look in the mirror I wonder if those people are blind or what.

I still say you won't have any problems.

I was looking at pictures of a few of my friends, and they do have chins similar to mine, which made me feel better. :) I guess it's more of how you shape your face. And I have big Italian nose, but my cousins have it worse. hehe. From what I've seen in pictures, they have my grandfather's nose. XD And I'm really looking into doing more exotic looks once I get more makeup. I'm super excited.

But Johnny, you look totally awesome! And like a very cool dude, might I add. :) You have nothing to feel bad about, amigo.

And Christine, my hair is actually really bad. lol When I say "do my hair" I really mean "try to get it to not frizz out after more than five minutes." XD Usually my hair is all frizzy and curly. Bleh. It's really really unruly. haha

Mine is wierd it curls only at the ends and it makes it really hard to manage. :/ plus I can't really put it up the way I like i.e. in a ponytail.

Ugh! Mine is the exact same way! I always try to put it in ponytail too when I do my makeup, but in never holds up. >.< lol

Lol I know what you mean. I can't wait for the hair in the front to be long enough, though the fact I use a ribbon to tie it back doesn't help. Another thing ponytails are good for is keeping your hair out of the way when you deal with facial hair.

lol. I used ribbon the first time I tried to tie it back. It was all I could find. XD I'm hoping to get my bangs done so I don't have to keep parting my hair. And yeah, I almost always shave with my hair back, but there will still be the occasional time where I forget to do that and I get shaving cream in my hair. hehe

Lol :) I dont use shaving cream, just soap, but I always shave after a hot shower, so that helps. Softens the hair and opens the pores.

Over here muttering about "a new Jim Crow against a persecuted minority."

Rants are not a problem.  My favorite hobby! :)   What's out there is bad enough that I wonder why some people feel they need to embellish it.  Be alert.   Some of this will need to be fought in court if they try to implement it. If people are out to get me, paranoia is justified.  And this may not be the only document.   Abby
    • Ivy
Not in so many words, therefore it's not there at all.  Excuse my paranoia. And the states passing laws against us are nothing to worry about either. Having to change my gender back to male (like in Florida) is reasonable.  I should just accept it, I mean I was born with a dk.  So that "F" is lie, and a fraud.  My delusions need to be dealt with for my own good.   I'm just frustrated these days.  Just a bit of a rant.

You probably remember the Target PR fiasco.  I remember reading an account from a woman who shopped there.  She went into a stall and did her business, and someone came into the bathroom and began swinging stall doors open, and when she came to her stall, the woman peeked at her through the crack. "What are you doing?" "Checking for perverts." The writer was so stunned by the absurdity that she finished up ASAP and got out of there, while the other woman entered a stall and locked it, made sure it was locked, and locked it again.

      Nothing about eradicating TG folk.
    • Ivy
If 9 out of 10 parts are ok, that doesn't mean I need to accept the bad parts (that are aimed directly at me).  That seems suicidal.
    • Ivy
True, most of it has nothing to do directly with us.  It's the parts that do that are the problem.   I see the  few problematic statements as being a big problem.  Just because a lot of it may be okay, doesn't change that. Even supposing the rest of it might be good for the country, it doesn't help me if I'm being "eradicated".  I suppose I should be good with that, because it's for the "greater good".  If me being gone would please a number of people, then it's my civic duty to disappear, and vote to implement that.
    • Ivy
Yeah.  There are already laws against assault.  I don't think the overwhelming majority of trans women have any desire to harass cis women.  Speaking for myself, if I go into a women's washroom, it's because my eyeballs are already floating - not for kicks.  And I worry about getting clocked and assaulted by some guy being a "hero."
    • Abigail Genevieve
Only three, maybe four, sections even mention transgender.  Most is a conservative agenda I have no problem with.   In the sections that mention transgender, there are very few lines.  Those lines ARE problematic, in every case. Unequivocally.  I can't see some of them standing up in court.  In one case a recommended policy goes against a court decision, which strongly suggests the implementation of that policy would be stopped in court.    Anyone maintaining that this is written simply to support Trump, to support him becoming a dictator, to crush transgender people is feeding you a line.  Nor is it an attempt to erase transgender people.   People will have to decide if the overall goals are worth the few problematic statements.  Overall, I support it.  Of course, I have some reservations.

It is unfamiliar, therefore threatening.   For 90% or so of the population, gender id can be simply and quickly determined by a quick anatomical observation.  They have no understanding and cannot imagine what it would mean to have a body different from the id.  It is unimaginable.  Therefore, wrong.   So there is this strong headwind.   I haven't entered this discussion, but here is a script: A: I can't imagine what it must be to have TG. B: You're a man, right? A: Well, of course. "amused" B: Imagine you were required by law and custom to wear women's clothing all the time. A: It wouldn't happen. B: Okay, but for the sake of the argument... A: That would be disgusting.  I would be very uncomfortable. B: You have it.  That is what TG people go through all the time. 24-7-365. A: Really? B: And then they are told they are perverts for having those feelings.  The same you just described. A: I see. B: And someone comes along and tells you you need conversion therapy so you will be comfortable wearing women's clothing all the time. A: I think I would break his nose. B: You understand transgender folk better than you think.

I have found some people correlate TG = child predator ... just as some have correlated homosexual = child predator...    I am baffled by the TG = unsafe connection ... my wife tends to think this way, that this is all about sexual deviancy ... I try to ask how my preference for wearing frilly socks with embroidered flowers and a comfortable camisole under my lavender T-shirts is sexually deviant (or sexual anything) but I don't get very far...
    • EasyE
Best wishes to you as you take this step ... many blessings to you!

Not sure.  The perp is a minor.  The problem here is NOT transgender, the problem here is incompetent and criminal administration.  See https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/family-of-loudoun-co-student-sexually-assaulted-ineptitude-of-all-involved-is-staggering/3231725/ It is more than annoying that people think the problem here is TG and that other people think the solution is some stupid statewide law.  Like an appendectomy to deal with an ingrown toe nail.    Since Loudon, I recall a boy was asked not to use the girl's restroom at a high school by one of the girls.  He, overwhelming her with height and weight,  assaulted her, claiming he had a right to be there.   Later I think eight girls beat him severely in another girl's restroom.  Again the problem is not transgender, the problem is assaults in restrooms and common courtesy.  TG is used as a smokescreen and it seems to paralyze thought among administrators who do not want to do anything to provoke controversy.

Time to get with your Primary Care doctor and be referred to a neurologist or an orthopedist.  It could be many things, too many for any of us here to guess at.
