Something Weird...or Maybe It's Nothing?

So for anyone who doesn't know I'm not taking T. Last night in the mirror I saw two hairs under my chin. I don't know if it means anything or if it's something some biological females have anyway...but then I also started thinking about how where sideburns would be I kinda have "fuzziness." That I've had for awhile; I noticed it maybe a year or two ago, maybe even longer. But the two hairs on my chin I just noticed yesterday. Is this unusual? I know a lot of women get that when they're older but I don't know much about people who are my age. lol

Not knowing your exact age and family history (genetics, ethnic background, etc.) I can't be sure, but only two hairs -probably very coarse and dark - is normal for women. And so are peach fuzz sideburns for some.

Sorry, I know how we all fawned over Evan's chin.

But you have to get onto your T before you can hope to catch up, besides some of us girls like 'clean shaven' men just as much!

Give it time - I didn't get facial hair until I was almost 20 (now I wish I never had).

Love ya,

Sally

yep, that's normal. but also your natural T levels may be increasing on their own. I've heard of guys whose bodies become more masculine once they start to live their life.

Definately get your natural T levels checked. I dunno what your age is but if its at least 25 they could fluctuate a bit on their own. I actually suspect I was perimenapausal at 27 judging by the nightsweats. And there have been folks who were at that age even if professionals hate to have to go admit it. I also had those same two hairs for like ....well, till I started T actually.....and even if yours aren't about to become a full beard they may very well indicate that once you do start T you'll have an easier time. Who knows. And, like Ben mentioned, some guys saw an upswing on natural T when they lived male (maybe thats why I had the two hairs and nightsweats?).

I had fuzzy sideburn areas and a couple of hairs on my chin since my late teens and my T-levels were totally normal (like 44 mg/dL) for a female. so maybe it's just genetics... but I don't know if my sisters got any of that. I'll have to ask them when I see them next week.

I'm your age or a year older. Its not always due to Testosterone levels, but rather hair growth pattern levels as well as later teen fluctuations (not just T or E) in the body. However, T levels can also contribute, but they're often not the main reason. Two hairs and some side burn fuzz is pretty normal. My mother's really hirsute (lots of body hair), my father has barely any, I got more of a mix of the two and had two hairs which would routinely grow back longer than the others a few inches below the chin area. The hairs suddenly appeared maybe two years ago. I also had (long before T) some 'almost sideburn' growth while still having a somewhat androgynous/feminine face. Also, because I wore my hair medium length, the side lengths showed (if I lifted them) that I had a slightly more masculine pattern of hair there at the sides of my face which had a little fuzz close to where sideburns would be.

In my case, the hair and the fuzz was pretty much due to a hair growth pattern thing more than anything.

Most biofemaless get at least one or two random hairs in odd places. Most girls....pluck them out!! And most would never admit that they are actually there at all. I remember going into the locker room at school (I went to an art school, so I was in the locker room usually 4-6 times a day) and everyone was in the mirror plucking random eyebrows or chin hairs. One girl had a full belly of hair.

I'd say you're pretty normal! But use that mental power to get a goatee!

Thanks Davie! And don’t worry, I didn’t take it that way. It’s just such a big topic I can only hope to tackle it one bit at a time.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.
