Appendege Forming & Pleasure

Honestly thats going to depend on who does your surgery. Some folks will feel the meta, because its "all natural" however some peeps manage to mess up on a meta, some patients might not have enough growth to penetrate which might be important to them. Conversely, not all docs imbed in a phallo -which is what allows orgasming with one- and some who try might not be able to guarantee they won't damage the nerve. In the end its question of size vs less invasive option.

I'm mainly concerned with functionality. Am I going to be able to use it like I want. Hopefully by the time I go in there be some improvements in the surgeries.

You mean sex? Sex you can have, especially with the phallo. Penetration, urirnation, stiffening (its censored), sensation; you can get one that does all of that. Ejaculation however would mean rewiring a bunch of stuff in your innerds and figuring out how to have something mechanical manufacture semen. -don't count on it. I figure if a bio-man cn be "content" with a phalloplasty (cuz you can bet the surgery was not originated for ftms but rather genetic males who had accidents or birth defects) then I sure can too and not feel any different. Do I wish it were "more detailed"? Yes. Am I gonna say I don't want one if offered it for free? Not on any day of the week ending in "y".

And how cool would that be? There are some days I'd sell my soul to be able to do that.

Fortunately I recently learned that we can't actually do that :) -you can't sell what really isn't yours (as in "a possession") to begin with.

However, I know the emotion you're having. I don't think there's anything about being a biological male I'd be happier to experience than what it is to be a father. The sexual arousal and gratification from that function would be good too ;)

People who's had a metoidioplasty can become hard themselves while those who've had a phalloplasty need either a rod or a pump to become hard.

If you want to experience pleasure with a phalloplasty, you'll need a nerve hook-up and should look into the forearm as a donor site. Correctly performed metoidioplasties have sensation, including sexual sensation.

Metoidioplasties are rarely big enough for penetration, so prosthetic may still be necessary if that aspect is important to you. Phalloplasties are big enough for penetration.

Then there's the aesthetics - I know I want something whose appearance isn't jarring and a turn-off. This is highly personal. Some like the look of one, some the look of the other, some the look of both, and some the look of neither.

For me I want to have the Metoidoplasty simply because sensation is important to me, and the phalloplasty is not a sure go at this time. However if the surgery is improved I will diffently opt for it.

If I got bottom surgery, I'd have to go with the meta. Something about having plastic parts implanted in my nether rod creeps me out.

As for right now, I'm getting by with what I have.

I actually know of one doctor (at least) who uses the waist as the donor site with a thigh graft and embeds the "original part" for sensation. Thats one way to do it.

I'm sort of worried about the rods Stranded (though I do know someone with them who's happy) but still my big thing is the length of time it takes on the table to do a phallo. THATS what slows my roll. If I could be guaranteed maximum length for a meta with some serious tumescence :) I'd be a happy boy.

Tell me about it. Frustrating in more ways than one...

I always did have trouble deciding between the better of two evils.

If the phallo started out for bio-males..and that's what the tissue engineering stuff is focusing on right now...

:D

I still say we're just as important as they are though! Because really we aren't any different if you think about it..lol

If that happens, a lot of things I don't want to see might also be codified into law.  And some things that shouldn't be law might not get repealed.  To me, progress in one area isn't worth the price we'd have to pay in several other areas.     For me, voting on LGBTQ issues always ends up as an "out of the frying pan, but into the fire" sort of event.

Trying out a new wig. Got my reading glasses on. I've also got dark roots now - first time in years.

Thea, your post made me think of a comic named Chloe Petts whom I saw recently on Hannah Gadsby's Gender Agenda comedy special on Netflix. She is a cisgender masculine lesbian. She is brilliant and so funny. I was intrigued by her identification - specifically masculine, not butch. And it seems to me there is a difference.

Today I had a dr appt. When I checked in, I was asked my surname, which I gave. Apparently there were two patients with appointments at that time with that same surname. The receptionist asked, "Are you (my legal name which is feminine) or Paul?" I got such a kick out of it not being assumed I had the feminine name.

That must have felt affirming, albeit perhaps weirdly so. However, I'd construe that more broadly (no pun intended) as sexism rather than misogyny where the latter would imply contempt. Also, incidentally, I've heard chivalry referred to as "benevolent sexism".

My boss is in a panic. His business is a couple straws away from breaking a camel in half. He's just handling the stress very poorly.   My dad, though. He's handling things pretty well, as long as I continue to don't get massively offended by being called: son, boy, etc. His eldest is leaving the State and looks so different than he's been used to over the years. I haven't told him I'm on HRT, but to be fair the changes haven't been massive. I've always had boobs, more so after COVID weight gain and made more obvious with its loss, but now I'm not hiding them--and obviously wearing a bra. The estrogen has done some work, but nothing major (sadly). I think the biggest HRT changes have been my skin and a mild amount of fat redistribution.   Today I'm wearing my cheater, I almost have cleavage! :D I need to get another t-shirt bra to keep a good rotation. I only have two, one push-up, and the rest are unlined (great for Summer, but not great for my Summer wardrobe ).

I eat a ketogenic diet and have had no problems. I don't know about your case but I suspect it is the estrogen. Research the types of ways to take estrogen. Pay close attention to the bloodwork results. If they are not satisfactory, bring it up with your doctor. I take injectables, which are fully covered by insurance. It may not be the route for you, but something to consider. I emphasize to do your research and good luck. You can solve this. Be persistent.    Jennifer

I'm in a magenta blouse under a baby blue buttoned cardigan - still a little cool here in the northeast today - with dark blue jeans. Oh, and my favorite flame colored copper feather earrings.

White crop top and capri jeans ;) Finaly tricked the face id on my phone, "that's not you" lol.

This is my opinion, so take it for that. Fatigue is based more on what you eat. Eat a more healthy diet, and stay away from ultra-processed foods and that should help. Think of eating the way we did a couple hundred years ago before the industrial revolution. It's just a thought.   Jennifer

Welcome back, Jennifer! As a relative newbie to the forum and to transition, I look forward to getting to know you and share in your experiences.

I like the fact that you found support and have close members of your life. That is very important. No matter where you are on your journey, you have to have the support. Or you drift, and you question yourself.    Looking forward to your progress,   Jennifer
