Were the points he made even grounds for his ruling... like can he honestly justify his decision with because the individual's DNA is not altered, it shows God meant for them to stay male and female." Does seperation of state and church not sound familiar to this guy. I hope everything works out for Angela, thanks for the read Carolyn.

It's funny - there are idiots about worrying about the imposition of Sharia law in the U.S., even though there hasn't been a single case. But we have nut jobs like this applying Biblical quotes to justify civil law rulings. I think someone should demand that he makes all his rulings based on literal interpretation of the Bible, and sentence men who cheat on their wives to death by stoning.

I Agree with Nicole, what happened to the separation of church and state? Seems like to me he needs to not be allowed to preside over any transgender cases as he is already opinionated and thus should not be allowed to do so. I always thought a Jude is suppose to use fact not opinion in a ruling.

actually i had mentioned in here several times, that Oklahoma is one of those odd states about transsexuals.. its not legal to do sex change surgery there, but there is a known srs surgeon who lives there, and works there, and i remember, he can do some parts of a phalloplasty, for example, but not the whole thing, because technicly some of it isnt and some of it is considered SRS.

its what youd call a bible belt state, even though some down south are called that but have not got that same attitutude going on..

i knew it was going to have some biblical crap in there that isnt relevant anyway. I find it really annoying, but these people are elected you know. the law makers only make laws the people want in there, or they get voted out.

I'm not saying its fair or right though. refusing a name change is silly. when in some places people can change their name to something like $DADDYWARBUX$ legally, but just a simple name change gets shot down.

OK i didnt read it at first then i decided to read it, sounds like he isnt the only one there, but is the only one who does this. probaly with appealing a case is the judge has to agree that he made some mistake in the law and grant the appeal, an this judge is the same one who has to admit he screwed up. not very likely go very far is it?

easier to relfile it as a new request with another judge, OR move to another county, so its heard by a different judge.

Some states and some organizations have been rather mean about the gender change thing, some do have laws saying you cant do this or that, or have rules/regulations restricting it, but you can get around it if you really had to.

if its been done before for someone it can be done again by someone else is my point.

Even texas who always claimed they never change birth certificates allowed christie littleton to change hers, in order to persue a lawsuit on behalf of her dead husband.

and i do recall recently mentioing they do sometimes reject a name change request, and people here telling me i was wrong, they dont refuse them these days...and you dont need an attorney etc etc. sometimes, you do need that legal leverage with you. technicly, he didnt even have to give a clear explanation for why it was denied, but they usually come up with something.

-whats a dumb old judge know about genetics anyway? nothing. by his train of thought all those hemophiliacs out there should just bleed to death, because "god made them that way".

Bet that judge is a so-called christian too, but he obviously never read what Jesus had to say about people being born with afflictions or defects when they asked him. People that twist things around to suit their own personal bullycrap opinions really annoy me. if youre going to base it on God then read what God may have had to say on the subject or else leave it alone, i hate hypocrites, of any type. grr...

OK. i'm done venting now.

The problem for the transman, Dan, is that a process that should take a few weeks and cost a few hundred bucks, at most, will now likely take months, cost thousands in attorneys fees, and the poor guy has his name all over the damned newspapers.

Not fair!

I agree with you totally on all that Carolyn Marie.

The only real reason the judge has anything to do with these things is to see that the legal procedures for doing this has been followed, and to approve it. If they dont, its should be because legal procedures were done followed properly.

but they do throw that part in there, that you can't do a name change for purposes of fraud. while he personally feels someone doing this is trying to defaud other people out of something, thats not this case.

his interpretation of "defrauding someone" is a bit odd to say the least.

The reasons for it being done should have been explained clearly in the petition. some people dont like to write all that personal stuff in their petitions too, which is a mistake obviously, you have to give a valid reason.

They allowed that criminal guluhooili or whatever his name was, to have his name changed to mike stone, even though a bunch of mike stones objected to it. it wasnt to defraud but to distance himself from his own bad name which he earned on his own by hitting that olympic skater's leg with the crowbar. but he had done his time for the crime and wanted a clean slate. amazing they let him do it actually.

That Judge is a (jerk) sounds more like Discrimination to me an he doe;s not need to be a Judge. I belieive that a transgender person went to court on a traffic ticket an went before that Judge he would probley send that person to prison for the rest of theire life..

sorry i typo all over the place and then it doesnt make sense.. i meant to say,

he only has to be there to assure that the procedures were done correctly, and they probably were.

he was just being a you-know-what.

I remember seeing a debate between Thomas Jefferson (played by Clay Jenkinson) and Alexander Hamilton (played by Hal Bidlack) where they discussed the value of the courts to the concept of human liberty. Now keep in mind they not only argued from the perspective of the two men but they alloed themselves the foresight to include all of our history to date in their debate. Hamilton said that an independant court was a better guarantee of liberty than the ballot box. Keep in mind here that Hamilton was oposed to letting most people vote and wanted a president who served for life, much like a king. Jefferson pointed out that history has not shown that to be true. The courts upheld slavery multiple times just as one example. The courts far more often rule in favor of status quo instead of expanding liberty.

That's what you get when you put an old lawyer in a black dress and give him a job for life. You get, more often than not, status quo. It takes a long time to get things to change with courts waiting for the old ones to die off so you can put in a new guy who is more in tune with 20 years ago. So that means if that judge died tommorow his replacement probably wouldn't know how to send a text message and barely can handle his e-mail account.

We really want people like that deciding the fate of our future?

Warren Zevon said it best.

This ruling is so bad and so discriminatory - the judge should be removed from the bar association and his bench. I hope the attorneys representing these trans women make that move and succeed.

Gosh, missed Monday again.   Did you know that Producer Keith Oslen was distraught because the duo his recorded Buckingham-Nicks first album went nowhere? In walked Mick Fleetwood also distraught because once again Flleetwood Mac lost a guitarist in Bob Welsh and he was at least going studio shopping and came to Sound City in LA because he'd heard the drum sound they got there was incredible. He asked Oslen to play something recorded there. Olsen played some of Buckingham-Nicks and Fleetwood loved the sound of the guitarist and wanted Buckingham. Olsen said he comes with Nicks because Olsen managed both. Fleetwood didn't want Nicks but eventually the remaining Mac members said okay and next thing you know - the Fleetwood Mac that scored a huge following was born. Sadly right after the "Fleetwood Mac" album and before "rumours" was recorded, the band got huge headed and got rid of Oslen so they didn't have to play him a lot of music they wanted to keep. Olsen did ok after by recording Ozzy Osbourne, the Grateful Dead, Whitesnake, Pat Benatar, Heart, Santana, Saga, Foreigner, Scorpions, Journey, The Babys, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Joe Walsh, 38 Special, and Eric Burdon & the Animals, among others. BTW - Olsen was also a members in 1967 of a band called Music Machine (not the James Taylor one) that scored a huge hit with the song "Talk Talk"

Still on contentment high from Sunday.

CONTENTMENT The relentless pursuit of happiness often overshadows the more subtle yet profound emotional state of contentment. While happiness may be a fleeting high, contentment is the gentle hum of satisfaction that resonates through the soul, offering a sustainable path to life satisfaction. Oscar Wilde's poignant observation encapsulates this truth: "True contentment is not having everything, but in being satisfied with everything you have."

I've been looking forward to the legitimate medical groups coming out strongly against Cass' biased and one sided report, so I'm really glad to see the article you posted, @Davie.  Unfortunately, it won't get nearly the coverage that Cass has gotten.  She has done her dirty work.  Hopefully the pushback and investigative reports on her and her support network will result in her work being shown for what it is.  She is a fraud, and sooner or later all frauds are found out.   Carolyn Marie

CONGRATULATIONS, Jessica!!  That's really BIG! I myself did not experience a huge emotional roller coaster.  It was more like a smooth slide into emotional comfort.  The biggest effect I felt is when my Dr put me on T-blockers first.  I felt a bit 'empty' for a couple of months, but then realized it was just because the 'T-monster' was no longer running around inside of me.  Then I felt it was my new 'normal'. I feel like the estradiol was the 'frosting' on my transition affirmation.  It's been only positives.  I do cry a lot more, but it's only because I finally feel free to allow my emotions to come out.  To me it's not 'hormonal' ... it's FREEDOM!   Everybody is different but it sounds like you are under great care.  I hope you have a beautiful first year in transition on HRT (keep us updated if you can).
