It's taken me until day 17 post op to get the nerve to try and put on a t-shirt. Here I am!

WOOT! It feels great!

Now I can't wait to get back to the gym....

UGH, this stuff is taking too long for me.

I want them to fall off and go somewhere.

I got a post card from mine recently. They are vacationing in the Florida Keys.

Seriously though, hang in there. By the time you are as old as me, you'll be much further along than I am now. It'll happen! Don't worry.

It seems to be taking too friggin' long, though.

I mean, when I was in juvie, they had me do a medical checkup and the doctor who did sad she'd never heard of transguys needing to lose LBs before taking T.

And that the college she went to for her degree, they had a real good trans health program, so she's kind of in depth with that ish.

THIS IS REALLY urinating ME OFF. I'm sick and tired of having to bind every day. I'm sick and tired of my girly voice. I'm sick and tired of not having tons of facial and body hair, like I should. I'm sick and tired of being so short, having such small hands and feet. Most of all;

I'M SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED OF ALL THIS!

I remember when you posted about the weight thing before. I thought it was kinda BS then. When I started T, I was 5'6" and 200 pounds. That's well in the "overweight" range. Because of this, the doc warned me that I might be more at risk for some side effects, like high blood pressure and swelling. They still gave me the T though. So far I haven't had any problems. I mean, in spite of being pudgy, I exercise and eat healthy.

For surgery you sometimes have to lose weight. It definitely helps with the results. This isn't just BS. I've seen pics. Being my weight definitely makes it turn out less pretty. Some doctors won't even work on people as heavy as me.

I understand what you mean about being short and having a girly voice and having small hands and feet. All of those things make a guy feel insecure. I worry that people will notice how small my feet are or that my hips are wider than they should be. The problem is that T doesn't necessarily make all of that change. Even if you got T right now, you might not get any taller and your hands and feet might not get bigger. There are no promises with the facial hair either. Some people bust out with it right away. There are other people who have been on T for a year and don't have much facial hair. Almost everyone's voices drop, but you don't get to decide how deep it gets.

I'm not really sure how you can get closer to being able to start transitioning. I don't know much about the resources where you live. For me, it helped to connect with other transguys who were at the same stage as me. No one else really understands what you are going through. Sorry man...I wish there were something I could do to make it easier for you.

Wow, you look really great!!!!

I can't wait either. Hopefully not much longer now. x

Thanks, Sergei!

How close are you to having a surgery date? Feel free to PM me if you have questions about the surgery experience itself. Everything is fresh in my mind right now.

I'm not gonna say your doctor is wrong Seth, cuz maybe he knows about some family history stuff I don't or something? And maybe that particular doc is worried that either it might be an added ristk to blood pressure or that because you're so young maybe the weight would be more likely to take that T to estrogen. I'm way older than you and was already perimenapausal so slackin off on estrogens anyhow. But weight "alone" would not be a reason because I'm over 200 and when I started. Best thing I can say is have a second opinion but make sure the doc has all the info about you.

And Stranded? I now officially hate you, you manly man chested man you :D I think I'm gonna have my family members (all except gramma and Ray and you guys) appraised and see if I can't sell em to pay for top surgery :P

I'm thinkin about going for the surgery this summer. You look great.

And Evan, whas this about the T being turned into estrogen in overweight people. Never heard of it before but I suspected something like that to be so.

And Seth, all I can say is to hang in there. I was feeling like that not too long ago and I still get like that a lot. I just started to so I still have similar feelings.

Stranded, your expression kind of reminds me of the actor Jake Gyllenhal, especially with the dark hair. Looking good with the shirt; keep up the good results on the T. I can't wait to get rid of my own chest lumps but I'm primarily concerned about my shoulder and chest shape myself.

I'm with Evan. Green with envy. But you're looking great. I'm telling you. No question about it. Screw the family. I've already been thinking that I need to refinance the homestead because of low interest rates. I might be able to get the money worked into that.

You're looking really great in that T-shirt!!! Hope it didn't hurt too much, and if it did, it was worth it! You really do look awesome!

How long until you get the tubes taken out?

Dude you're looking good in the shirt, I want that. I havn't been able to have top surgery yet 'cause when I was going to I found out that I had to have open heart surgery, twice!!! So I'm delayed and I've been binding for a long time, but hey at least I'm alive and my doctor says if I continue to recover as I am I'll be able to have it this summer. But again congrats man.

Its that it can be more likely to happen but is also influenced by a lot of other factors (like other hormone levels, family history, bunch of stuff) including whether or not there are other health issues. However there are ways to combat that in the even you have that occur like the use of aromatase inhibitors. A second prescription that stops it.

Workiing out is a good combatant for it just because the more muscle you have the less likely it is to become a problem. ie if you weighed 230lbs but it was muscle as opposed to fat you would be good to go as opposed to 230lbs of sheer fat.

Heck I'm feelin like things are goin too slow for me right now.

And Bronx, dude, I'm puttin you on the good thoughts list. I know how scary it is for folks to go talkin about your heart.

Bronx,

Sorry to hear about the heart problems - just do exactly what the doctors say and you'll be just fine. ;)

I knew a man who had triple bypass surgery and continued playing his trombone - even after the work had to be redo about 14 years later he stopped playing trombone at 78 years old!

Follow instructions and you can do anything that you want to in time!

Sending all of my love, best wishes and prayers your direction,

Sally
