Is the Election over yet?

My God, I sure hope so. It's tuff here in Ohio. Can't even crawl into bed unless some politician is waiting on us. The Dems and Repubs are bouncing around here this weekend worse than two rabbitts in a sauce pan lol...............

I got a call from Mississppi this afternoon wanting to know if I'd voted yet and who I was leaning towards. I didn't answer them just hung up the phone, hey we were swamped at the office this afternoon. Last week,I put on our answering machine "that I didn't care if they were Dems, Repubs or Mickey Mouse we had already voted and not to bother us. Then, I softened my tone and said, Now, if you are not one of them leave your name and phone number and we will get back with you."

Anyway, we are on countdown now

I understand how you feel, Mike. My state isn't even being contested much by Mr. Romney's folks, and we are still hit with 15-20 robo calls per day. Of course, we've got 10 propositions on the ballot, plus lots of local contests. I'm glad I have Caller ID, so I can at least ignore them and not worry I missed anything important.

I both pity and envy you Mike - you live in OHIO - reason enough for the mixed feelings anytime but now bombarded with the campaigning never ending - candidates breaking in your front door - popping out of your refrigerator and being generally annoying - so why the envy?

It seems like your vote is the only one that counts.

No body has come to Louisiana in so long I cannot remember when they were here - 2011 maybe?

I intend to boldly vote at my poll on Tuesday I took the day off. Starting hot wings and popcorn at 5 pm, this will be good! As for calls... With my house for sale I took the "landline" down last week. I'm not missing the lack of calls but too many people need to be updated that I'm cell only for now.

My Missouri TV ads have primarily been low quality mud slinging. With our somewhat defunded senate candidate the senatorial adds have been lopsided. Some big name like American Crossroads remain unwilling to fund that candidate.

I largely know how my area will play out,

It's going to go down as Mitt, Claire, Blaine, Henke. I find it fascinating that I will have two Ds and two Rs. Further down the ballot there are a number of juditial retention votes( any upsets there are rare in MO. ) and ballot measures.

This is so wierd. I'm Scottish but am finding the whole thing quite gripping. I will certainly be watching on election night. Perhaps I'm just so jealous because there will probably never be an election for a Scottish president. Most Scots will probably vote in the referendum to remain part of the UK or sadly ENGLAND, as most of the world calls it. It hurts like hell and crushes my heart when people do so.

We just don't answer the phone unless we recognize caller ID. Being a swing state you can't watch TV for more than 10 minutes without having a series of political ads. I am getting 20 30 emails a day wanting me to donate another $3 or more.

The ironic thing is we dropped off our mail-in ballots 12 days ago so it does not matter.

A donation is more important that the vote in my state, it's not a competitive state, one might as well write in daffy duck for president here in Missouri. Do consider that the spending per voter is some ridiculous amount like $10 per vote captured, if you toss all the settled states, it's probably $50 per voter spent in swing states. A three dollar donation is somewhat laughable in that context, but they are doing what they can to defray the cost of serious mudslinging and wind-vane research for swing states.

I so can't wait until February comes when all the politicians can go back to work screwing up the country. Both parties have become so polarized either far, far to the left or the right. They used to represent the middle and they used to work together to do what was best for the country. Now we spend billions demonizing the other guy.

Is it too much to ask politicians to represent me and do what is best for the country?

Well at least I know what "taken for granted" feels like. Here in Texas, you can hardly tell there is an election going on. Rock solid ultra conservative state.

A few days ago I got a guy at my door collecting pledges to vote--after 8PM. He was really lucky he was campaigning for someone I support. Had they been looking for my husband, who is of the opposing party and, more importantly, on the permanent early voting list, he'd have gotten hostility for ringing the bell after the kids were in bed.

The Daily Show bit was awesome.
