Well I tried

Today was the 1st day back at work after the holidays & I dressed as I have done every day for the past 20+ years at this job including male underwear, but by lunch time I couldn't cope and came home ( I can just make it from the site I was at to home and back in the lunch hour) and change into proper underwear before going back. So thats it I've worn male underwear for the last time  - Is this significant?

And for the first time I came home and put on a skirt and felt that actualy I cross dress to go to work now - The only positive side of my male clothes is that even over the holidays i've lost weight and I've got to get a new belt or put another hole in my existing belt or I risk my trousers falling down not too bad if you are wearing black cotton panties but a somewhat embarrassing if they are pink lace

Try as we might if it doesn't feel right stop doing it.

Yes, this is significant you have now reached the next step on your journey.

Congratulations Claire!

May you continue to prosper throughout the year.

Yeah, we come to this place where it just becomes intollerable. I know the FTM's like their male underwear, and that's good for them and all, but I have to agree Claire, I'll never go back, it's been years now, I honestly can't even remember the last time I wore male underwear. Soft panties are the best, love the variety, the cool colors and patterns, some with lace others with none, it's endless. I just have to snicker making my way through the drab men's section at a dept store and see them there, it's like uuuuuuuuuuuu

I want to get girl underwear, but I'm worried they'll ride up like briefs, which I hate! And I wonder what Council of Nicea-like meeting decided men should have boring clothes?

Think i've only had mens underwear on once in the past year

As little as i wear them it's still a rush to get changed

Don't care if i change into granny pantys as my ex called them they still feel better

I know I'll look at the panty drawer and make that decision based on mood, it can take a while to settle on a pair at times  .

Cross dressing in male mode, yep, I relate, others have seen it this way too. It gets old real quick....

Hang in there Claire and hugs

Hi Lexi

My apologies - I should have looked for some of your posts to see what you are called. Try wearing them at night, assuming you sleep alone otherwise just go for it. One of the things I've learned from my time on here is that the fear of doing something is far worse than the actual doing and the feeling when you discover something is right is the best feeling in the world.

LOL: Even as a girl, I still dress like a guy (not in style, but the whole making it quick and easy)...I realized I get very attached to certain pieces of my clothing, so I end up wearing them over and over...at least until my FtM friend Charlie tells me off! He got very upset at me attempting to wear my destroyed snow boots when the soles were coming apart at the seams! Mom bought me new ones to wear (and wreck!), much to his relief!

I've worn a few panties in my life and I know I loved it... but I quickly buried that it ever happened. I look forward to wearing them and everything though... now I sleep in my underwear, and I use to always sleep with pants on, idk if it's like relevant or something but I can't wait to just feel the sheets on my legs with panties on. I remember whenever I would have a girlfriend I always thought she was more sexy to me with them on than with them off, and I never understood why and I am starting to realize all these things about my life.

In Piers Anthony's world of Xanth a woman merely has to flash her panties at a man to freak him out (stunned until vision of panties is removed). The 15th novel in the series is built around the color of the main character's panties.

Panties are one of the main features of Xanth (along with puns, naughty princesses and the Adult Conspiracy to prevent children from learning interesting things). It's probably why I've read all 36 books, most more than once.

Once you have female skin, you will understand panties and sheer fabrics in a new way. I know that I never did until I suddenly experienced the coarseness of male clothes. A change of skin will rock your world!

I simply can't wear my guys clothes 'cause they're way too big (I lost weight quickly somehow), but now I'm afraid to!

Claire,

I know the feeling, I am the same. I used to be the one style, didn't worry about colours but now the mere thought of them horrifies me.

I thought it might be me as I am as another thread says very much at stage two and wondering what I am doing. As far as the outside world is concerned I am still male but the underwear is always female.

This week I bought some new vest (with hidden support) as I am suddenly worrying about the thought of wearing a bra. My breasts are still no more than an A cup but I can feel them bouncing when I run. After wearing the vest for a couple of days, today I didn't but now I can feel them bounce when I am walking.

Claire, I'm probably one of a thousand who post here who have heard

the line "What if you are in a car accident?" I counted the odds and

decided that how I felt about expressing my true nature was more important

than what an EMT might discover. After all, they are strangers anyway. So

on these cool Northwest winter mornings I wear tights or leggings, panties,

and a bra. Since I typically wear an LL Bean type vest no in the wiser.

Seriously Claire on the the great moments in my transition was when I went

through all my drawers and the walk-in closet and committed 80% of it to

Goodwill. You can do it too!

Love, Jan

Hi Jan

To be honest that thought hadn't occured to me. The husband of a collegue is a papamedic and I know what they would think if they found me in an accident - Are they breathing, Are they in pain, Can they move. The fact I have shaved legs, lace panties and painted nails isn't going to negativly change how they do their job.

An EMT is not going to care if you're even going commando.

They're going to do their job i,e, keep you alive.

Two unusual conbinations: Jackson Brown was accompanist for Nico of The Velvet Undarground & Nico fame. David Gates of Bread fame played with Captain Beefheart.

I started estrogen (oral) a little before age 50 and not the maximum dose either and also no blockers. It almost immediately accentuated the feminine features I already had, and expanded my already soft areas of skin, widened my hips and distributed more fat to my thighs and increased my breast size. There seem to be some subtle changes to my face too though I doubt I am any more passable than I was a decade ago, it’s just nice to not use breast forms anymore. I haven’t switched to injections as planned and there really hasn’t been much change after the first 6 months and my body fights back; my E levels dropped and T increased even on the same dose so it has not really done much for me. It sounds like injections are the far better way to go, plus progesterone after a while if the doctor will prescribe that.    As is often said, everyone is unique and one’s mileage may vary, and what works for one person may not for another.

This is so sad. The violence in general in Washington State seems to have ramped up a lot, and gender-based violence and hate crimes seem to be worse as well. My parents once lived in Renton but I don’t care for that city and never go there. I don’t think it really matters though as crimes like this can happen anywhere and often are perpetrated by a male who was in a prior relationship with the victim.

I’ve never been in therapy specifically labeled as such, butI think IFS therapy evolved from treatment of dissociative identity disorder in which one’s various alters or parts are treated as an internal family, and each part is like a separate individual who can be spoken to individually or have dialogue with other parts. In a person with full DID, doing that supposedly helps to break down the dissociative barriers that cause that person to not be able to remember what they did for parts of a day or longer. This was the case with me.   Anyone’s mind, though, can be thought of as being compartmentalized to some extent and we all can have an inner child and various aspects of our selves, yet the dissociation is never to a degree that it causes problems like with DID. But the same aspects of working with an internal family or different aspects of self, like the inner child, the rebellious teen, the persecutor parental type, etc, can help heal trauma nonetheless. I think many of us do have sides of us that we don’t like, or others don’t like, and it can be useful to examine how they came about and what purpose they serve as they are often a means of self-protection or coping with anxiety.

We had soup and steamed rice for dinner tonight.  Simple, basic, feed-a-ton-of-people kind of food.  With strawberries for dessert!  We have a huge strawberry patch, so I spent a couple of hours this afternoon picking.  And there's some left over, which I put in the downstairs kitchenette.  Time for a late night snack!     Outside of meals, I mostly live by nibbling on fruit and a few green things.

Well, it is officially summer.  85 degrees outside the last two days, and GF is sick and irritable.  I have to curl up under heavy blankets in my nest, because she's got the AC turned down to the point I expect to see icicles growing on the ceiling.  This is what life is like when your partner is an arctic creature. I should be used to it by now, but just when I think its nice and warm, she has to freeze me.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
I just can't resist.  Does all that mean that.............the bird is the word?
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Well, that might be interesting.  At least since she's 24, its not like you're on the hook for expenses.
