Electrolysis Prior to SRS?

So I was researching vaginoplasty and learned that the surgeons want you to have electrolysis hair removal in that area. I've never heard anyone mention this until now. Is there a huge consequence if you don't? Because I'd really rather not...

Some surgeons have charts on the web. I downloaded one from my preferred surgeon and turned it in at my laser treatment place to add to my chart. Might even start on that the next session in a couple weeks, I wanted to hammer out more details with the nurse that operates the laser.

Hi Wendy,

Some surgeons say that they remove the hair follicules as they're creating the neovagina. Other surgeons insist on hair removal prior. You may want to find that out as you're selecting your surgeon.

Mine requires hair removal. I'm having hopefully my last electrolysis session tomorrow. I have a doll of an electrologist - it's been less painful than my face was. But, yeah, just icky thinking of having my pants off and someone touching a body part that I don't even want to touch. Will I be glad when it's done???

This is why I don't want SRS...I don't want electrified needles ANYWHERE near my penis, or anywhere else for that matter.

Honey, it only gets better! There's the surgery itself, the catheter, the dilations, the douche, etc, etc.

But, hey, if we were GG's, we'd have been introduced to PMS, Tampax and Birth Control at age 12! Being a girl ain't easy!

I'm quite happy to have the best of both worlds, LOL! Retaining my penis just makes me more interesting!

It's not that bad!

I think of it as pre-SRS. My Electrologist is a registered nurse, which means that she can legally give injections. So, with a few very sharp needle pokes, the area is mostly numb. For a few hours, I get to feel what it's like to have nothing there. Tonight ran 2.5 hours. The lidocaine wore off too fast to really enjoy it this time, and that amount of time, lying head down, left me dizzy as all get-out. That real thing gets closer every day!

I definitely depends on the surgeon. Mine didn't require it and it was one of the factors in choosing the surgeon I did, because pain and cost were definitely issues for me. I can happily report that I do not, in fact have hairs growing out of my vagina

I honestly cant even imagine having to do that. I am getting laser on my face because it is a necessity to pass, but it hurts so bad, and I must believe the area down there is even more sensitive than my face....it hurts just thinking about it lol

7 days to my first south pole laser treatment, I haven't been medically examined down there for 29 years, there have been some blind hernia tests sure, but nothing more. Woohoo, a paid professional to have fun down there... :P

My electrologist always asks me how well the last treatment went, and it always makes me laugh - I've so disowned those body parts that I'm not about to look!

It really is starrange to have someone handling that area. I'm not sure how laser gets all of the folded up layers of skin - but the electro lady has to do a lot of poking and stretching to get every hair. Thank heavens for lidocaine!

My surgeon (Bowers) didn't require it, but suggested it for the shaft and inner 1/3 of the scrotum. She actually suggested leaving the rest of the hair there to hide scarring. I opted for a full extended brazillian laser package because I have no desire to have hair anywhere south of my eyebrows, regardless of it's scar-camoflaging abilities. (The scars aren't that noticable anyway.) Alas, as i've mentioned in many a hair removal thread, two years and several thousand $$ worth of laser sessions did about diddly-squat for me, and I'm still stuck shaving kitty on a regular basis, but other than the annoyance of still having to shave, there's no real complications.

I am about 5 weeks ahead of you ... best wishes to you! For me it has been subtle changes at most so far (if any) ... but I am also on the "beginner's" level of patch, lol ...    Easy

Oh, another comment.   I am a conservative evangelical with strong Republican leanings. So is my wife, my friends, my family. I disagree with a good amount of what the Republicans are doing, but there it is.  I understand the mindset, I think, a lot better than those who are outside it do.   When you insult Republicans you insult me, my friends, my family.   People like me can struggle with trans issues.   Please consider that in posting.

I found this as well. No playacting, they just appear: the finger waggle wave; bracing my elbow on my other arm that's folded across my chest, wrist in the air half-cocked; walking a bit more fiercely... All that. My wife thought I was mocking her at one point!

I find my lack of time to read the thing frustrating, and I will not really comment until I have read it.  This is a wholly inadequate response.   1.  I think there are some legitimate concern.   2. Thoroughly discussing this will consume many threads.   3. I disagree partially with @MaeBe but there is partial agreement.   4. The context includes what is happening in society that the authors are observing.  It is not an isolated document.   5. Trump, if elected, is as likely to spend his energies going after political opponents as he is to implementing something like this.    6. I reject critical theory, which is based on Marxism.  Marxism has never worked and never will.  Critical theory has problems which would need time to go into, which I do not have.   7. There are groups who have declared war on the nuclear family as problematically patriarchal, and a lot of other terms. They are easy to find on the internet.  This document is reacting to that (see #4 above).   8.  Much of this would have to be legislated, and this is a policy documented.  Implementation would  be most likely different, but that does not mean criticism is unwarranted.

Sort of bracing myself for flipping, because I am wearing f and of course I wear f and it is natural to wear f and what else would I wear?  The  novelty is long gone out on this.  I wore a bra most of yesterday but we had a Zoom call and I took the bra off because I was concerned about the straps showing.  I missed it.    My body is saying "I am female!  Treat me that way!"   In the past it has screamed about this activity that  I have done to it.

This is what I'm scared of.  And it's quite possible. Apparently Chicken Little was right.

Finally I  am back online   I had to use the help of the contact form (not proud  of that, I always feel embarrassed and shy about contacting people), but here I am   missed all of you

I'm not happy to admit this, but I usually scream or break things.   Breaking things became a bit of a no no, because It was always a cd or something I liked and it got very expensive to replace stuff

Probably amusement parks. I've never been to one sadly, but I think I could talk for an hour about them without any problem

The name "Mississippi" comes from the Anishinabe tribe of Native Americans; the word means "Father of Waters."
