Male to Androgyne

Ok, I am currently taking Spironolactone, and Finasteride to help regrow my hair and clear my skin. I am also taking Tamoxifen to keep me from having gynecomastia.

Tamoxifen works by stopping the effects of estrogen on breast tissue, but supposedly doesn't effect other tissue.

I was wondering, if I could also take Diane-35, with the Tamoxifen to feminize me more toward Androgyny, but not be subject to the gynecomastia. In other words, I want the smooth skin and hair regrowth effects from Diane-35, but not the boobs. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'm afraid I don't have any experience along this line but I'm sure your doctor would be able to answer your questions.

Unfortunately, I can't afford a doctor/insurance, and the free clinic here won't help because it's cosmetic. I've been researching and ordering the meds online, and attempting to do the regimen myself.

Self medicating is extremely dangerous. You are literally taking your life into your hands. Please reconsider this course of action. I realize medical care is expensive, but there HAS to be a better option. It's worth waiting for to do it right.

You do not know what you are really buying when you purchase meds online. The meds are not regulated. They may not even contain what they say they do. And even if they do, you don't know if you are taking too much or too little because you aren't having blood work done, and therefore are not being monitored. Please reconsider, you are risking your life and health.

I've heard horror stories about people buying meds online, In fact a member of my support group used to self medicate, and died last summer from a blood clot to the brain. Heard other horror stories online and other things. You definatly risking your life and health like Jenny said.

CMM, the WPATH Standards of Care is the "Bible" for transfolk who are transitioning or plan to. Please review the section starting on Page 97, for an accurate and unbiased account of the dangers of HRT. And please note that those dangers are for transfolk who are being monitored by a physician. The dangers increase greatly when you are not monitored.

http://www.wpath.org/documents/Standards%20of%20Care%20V7%20-%202011%20WPATH.pdf

As to the Free Clinic, please provide the link to the SoC to them, as well as these other links for health professionals:

http://www.acog.org/About_ACOG/ACOG_Departments/Health_Care_for_Underserved_Women/Transgender_Health_Resource_Guide

http://www.apa.org/topics/sexuality/transgender.aspx#

These and other documents from the medical community all attest to the fact that gender dysphoria, and its treatment, is NOT considered cosmetic. That has also been reaffirmed by the Internal Revenue Service Appeals Board, which has ruled that treatment for GD is a deductible medical expense.

I hope these documents can convince the clinic to treat you. I wish you luck.

HUGS

Self medicating can be deadly, a friend of mine who was under a doctors care thought more was better, she ordered extra meds online, one day she had a heart attack and died, leaving 2 small children without a parent.

Taking hrt is an all or nothing proposition, you are playing with fire, these little pills are more powerful than you think, you can't just pick and choose what you are going to get, why take estrogen if you are going to counteract the effects with another drug, all you are doing is wasting what little money you do have, Spiro after 6 months or so will start to make you sterile, had you thought of that.

CMM, what the others have told you is true. Self medicating is extremely dangerous. We're not saying these things to be mean. We truly care about your well being and want you to be safe. Please, if there's anyway possible, get the recommended tests done and get prescriptions for your needed meds from a doctor.

I've been unhappy in life for a long time. A lot of it stems from my gender issues. I've thought about this for years, and really thought deep for a few months, and researched before I purchased the meds. I know it's dangerous, and I could die, but it's not like I want to live like I am now. I made the decision to become Androgynous or die trying.

As for going sterile, well, I've accepted that.

The online med place I ordered from was recommended on a hair regrowth site. The members there have had the pills tested by a lab, and they found them to be genuine. I know you can't believe everything you read on the internet, but I was willing to believe this, and so far so good. I've been on the regimen since December, and I have noticed a small bit of hair regrowth on my temple. That has further convinced me the meds are real.

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.

For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.

I am sorry for your struggles. I cannot empathize, but I can surely sympathize. I wish only the best for you!

No, they are the only provider of services I need an my area. 😑

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!
