Advice for Small Business Re. TG Employees

This seems to equate Transgender needs solely with the needs of someone transitioning. While the definition of Transgender is broader, it is written such that where it says "differs from what they were assigned at birth" suggests transsexual (completely the opposite) though if one were to parse words "differ" could mean anything on the spectrum.

I have read that acceptance of medically indicated and medically supervised "transition" needs are much greater than non-traditional expression and far greater than fetisistic expression. Now I don't have anything solid to back this up but it seems to make sense as awareness has created an understanding of medical need of some.

What concerns me here is the equivalncy drawn by trans activists discussing transgendered as if they are all transsexuals while promoting corporate policies and legislation that would put in places for the broader transgendered and would protect crossdressing in the workplace.

It seems that this is both less than honest and explitive of one segment of the trans community. That this already causes opposition to laws designed to protect because opponents have recognized some of the proposals would protect fetish crossdressing.

Is it right to create a barrier to acceptance of protections for medically indicated needs because lumped with those protections are protections for the non-medically indicated?

Is it right to create circumstances where a backlash is likely to occur because those without the medical need push the boundaries in ways that those with the medical need would never do?

Maybe the whole umbrella would be covered in this Trans 101 seminar?

Then then small business owner would know to maybe send out a memo stating "Joe will be experimenting with their gender expression for the foreseeable future, and starting next week will be wearing clothing traditionally associated opposite of their birth sex on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and using the woman's washroom on those days."

Personally as annoying as it may be, I'd disagree with the article that asking about surgery is the worst question for me. It almost seems expected by the confusion that's being created.

It would be fitting if he took a dip in the ocean while he is up there in Massachusetts and the great white eats him. Maybe it is just me, but tell me again how this guy is supposed to be a great actor?? I just do not get that vibe. It is mind of matter. It is my mind and he doesn't matter.

Slide rules ruled. Wow, that takes me back to the 70s. We actually had to solve problems with longhand in some situations. No calculators where I was. They were just beginning to emerge. My dad had a simple calculator that could add, subtract, multiply, and divide. That was state of the art for the time. Reading was actually required to get through school. There were no PCs, no YouTube, no Google. VHF antennas ruled. Few folks had cable. I would take that all over again.

SPOCK: Life as we know it is universally based on some combination of carbon compounds, but what if life exists based on another element? For instance, silicon.

Welcome @Arushi!  My opinion is there is no right/wrong about this.  You know, it's natural for people to perceive you differently and act differently if you present differently than you normally do.  My Zen meditation background makes it easy for me to just do my own thing, but you know, if you go out in public you also have to deal with other people and their thing.  That reminds me of the stoic books I've been reading the last few years that talk about being in a "forum".  So this is a virtual forum here and being here was a step in bringing my transgender side out into the public.   Hugs, Lydia

@Arushi - Actually, to put it more simply, a friend of mine had a phrase that became very important to me.    How can it be wrong when it feels so right?
    • Timi
Thank you for sharing, @Arushi. I'm hearing how in your element you feel when dressed as a woman. I think that the feelings you have are the best answer to your questions.    In my journey, I'm finding that once I started opening up to myself and to other people, things started to change within me, sometimes unpredictably. Some of the best advice that I have received is to be gentle to myself.    I am glad you found this group and I hope you find support and community here.    -Timi

"We have no knowledge of who the hell we are, and if we don't get it back soon we're all going to die," Dreyfuss said in a video captured at the event.   Richard Dreyfuss's comments on women and LGBTQIA+ community at Jaws event prompts cinema to apologise - ABC News   His shrill comments have exposed him as someone who has lost the plot.

You are so welcome Charlize. I think it is too late for that hope, though. On release of the Cass review the New York Times called Hilary Cass "the hero we need in these times". I hate to think what the right is going to do with this, and I know it has already been referred to by those justifying bans on gender-affirming care in the US.
    • Timi
Oh wow! Congratulations to you too, @Mirrabooka!

I'm moving and my house is almost empty except for my two homemade MAME systems!  I should be in here alone with them for at least a month!

Thank you for your service and efforts for the community! I hope our right wing doesn't take this "stud\y" as a talking point.   Hugs,   Charlize

Bit of a mini-vacation for us starting tomorrow. Going to Melbourne and seeing the Odd Couple play and staying over, then flying to Adelaide on Friday and going to the soccer that night, a friendly game between the Australian women's side and China. Back home on Saturday. It's how we roll. 😎
