so within the next 13 days, im moving to a more hostile zone. like old OIF stuff going on. some of these people cant really keep their cool when stuff is going on here. they start to freak out and you cant even understand what they are saying. so i hope i dont change squads. the people im with are good.

im kind of nervous but excited.

Katie it is good to hear from you again. I know I have been worried about you since I know what it is like over there (been there done that and got the t-shirt -ugly brown though it is- as the saying goes). Please do keep us updated on what is going on there with you and how you are doing. Most importantly though stay SAFE, please stay safe. As has already been said keep your eyes (and ears) open, be aware of your surroundings, watch your buddies backs (and they will watch yours) and if the situation feels funny or wrong then trust yourself and know that it is (don't try to rationalize the feeling away). Know that you are in all of our prayers here. Stay safe and come home safe.

Oh yeah and remember you can always email alot of us directly (I am sure that no one minds me saying that), all you have to do is ask, and we will be there for support. You can email me at [email protected] if you need anything, even if it is just to talk to a sister that has been there.

Katie just remember to stay safe and that just because the brass says something doesn't make it true (heck I learned they have a tendency not to know what they think they know). Hopefully it is true though but that also makes them more dangerous because, as I learned growing up, a cornered rat will fight that much harder. Just keep your head down, eyes & ears open and mind alert and focused. We want you to come home safe and in one piece sweetie.
