Yep things are moving forward

In the rest of Europe gay couples can get married in Belgium (2003), Spain (2005), Norway (2009), Sweden (2010), Iceland (2010), Portugal (2010) and Denmark (2012). Parliament voted In France last Saturday in with legalization of gay marriage.

The Netherlands since 2001.

Here in the U.S., there's so political and religious garbage that goes on and no thought of the lives that they are affecting. Ideologies trump human rights unfortunately.

Ive been with my partner for 11 or 12 yrs, we are engaged and because im entitled to a pension, as a woman, at 60, and paid in all my life, i decided not to change my birth certificate because my driving license and passport say "male" and no one every asks for a birth certificate -but for marriage, i believe you have to have a gender recognition certificate, which im entitled to have after 2 yrs - its been 7 ive lived as male officially, so i decided to wait till im 65 so i can marry as male and not lose my pension, which i would be entitled to this November were i a bio male. So we will probably get married then. We could now the new bill has come in, marry as same sex, but i feel i would rather do it as a male...........if that makes sense?

My partner and i have been legally married for 41 years. I hesitate to change my legal name and gender because of the repercussions at home or should we travel. It simply seems crazy that after raising a family we might not be 'legal' on a national basis. I seems that all the discussion revolves around gays which is understandable but we also exist and i think have an even stronger case for inclusion in the rights of this 'free' nation. Sorry for the rant.
